The Lord has been putting on my heart a few things.  I have been working hard to tie them together and I think JD just helped me greatly.  The three things he has put on my heart through studying His word over the last week are:

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first – 2 Thes. 2:3

Then you will discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. – Proverbs 2:5

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil – Isaiah 5:20

The Lord is amazing.  He says: “If you seek her (wisdom) as silver and search for her (wisdom) as for hidden treasures” (context mine)- (Proverbs 2:4)  Then you will discern the fear of the Lord.  We have to seek, meaning reading God’s word directly, and when we do, it is amazing what He reveals and how He reveals it.

2Peter below is one of the keys that JD laid out.  It is the passage on what we can expect and why.  The scoffers of Christs return are many and the intensity he mentions is so true, you can feel it.  If you even mention: prophecy, rapture, Christ, Gospel, Christs Return, or Judgement.  You will feel the intensity of the push back.  They do not want to hear sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3).

2 Peter 3:3-12

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Coming Day of the Lord

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For [a]when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

A New Heaven and Earth

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and [b]its works will be [c]burned up.

11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

Footnotes:

  1. 2 Peter 3:5 Or they are willfully ignorant of this fact, that
  2. 2 Peter 3:10 Lit the works in it
  3. 2 Peter 3:10 Two early mss read discovered

I implore you to watch the full video, it is an amazing update on what we are seeing and why.

How far have we come?  We are mocked if we even bring it up.  We are called the evil ones, met with scorn.

We are at the hour.  Why?

The world is busy fulfilling their own evil desires, believing everything goes on as it has since creation.

Judgement is coming!  We must turn back to God.

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

In Romans 10 Paul lays out how salvation is open to all, Jew and Gentile.  He writes:

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” – Romans 10:4-5

What he is saying is now it is not about works or how closely to a “T” you follow the law.  But that it is through God’s gift of grace through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.  It is really that simple, and yet a hard step for some of us.

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9

Christ is the narrow gate (Matthew 7:13-14), through faith in Him you will be saved.  It is the only “works” that God requires for eternal salvation.

Wow what can I say?  That is a lot of ground to cover in one weeks update, but would you believe we had all of that and then some in the headlines on a single day.  JD does a wonderful job laying out the big picture, the forest, the puzzle!

All the pieces are coming into place.  My only explanation for why people don’t see it is that they are perpetually distracted with the things of this world.  Christ called it being “asleep”.  Having awoken, I think that is a good description of what it was like.  It is not coincidence that all these things are happening on the same  day/week/month.

It is prophecy.

God’s will being fulfilled.

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

JD addresses what we are seeing with the Peace process and the constant drum beat we are hearing for “Peace and Security” or “Peace and Safety”.  The UN even has a website dedicated to just that topic called that exact quote.  A phrase laid out by Paul thousands of years ago to the small Thessalonica church.

JD does a great job laying out the major signs we have seen in the heavens and on earth just since the beginning of the year.

He skipped earthquakes because there are simply too many.  I need to do a count but we are averaging a least one 6.0+ earthquake or more a day.  A few years back you use to see a 6.0 maybe a dozen times a year.  Things are very much heating up.

If you ever wondered how you could increase your discernment, JD lays it out very well this week as he explores why we believe what we believe.

By studying the Truth, Gods word, you get so familiar with the Truth that any deception placed before you, leaps out at you as untrue.

On the flip side, I think this is why so many are deceived today.  No one reads their Bibles, God’s word.  Or they read these watered down interpretations of God’s word.  Versions that have been made “PC” and hip with today’s culture.  Supposedly covered with sugar to help the medicine go down.

Studying God’s word is medicine for what ails us, but it shouldn’t need sugar to take it, it will turn our lives right side up and free us from our captivity.  The Truth will set you free!

God’s word keeps our minds sharp and on guard against the overwhelming deception we are surrounded and taken captive by today.  You must know the Truth, to know when your being fed the counterfeit.

In the second half of JD’s sermon on getting back to the basics, he puts forth Revelations as the place to start.  Some would call this odd but after listening to his sermon, I am in 100% agreement, I believe that is exactly what God wants us to do, and why this world tries to make Revelations seem so scary and forbidden.

God spoke to John and told him to write about what he had seen (past), what was currently (present), and what will come (future).

Revelation 1:1-3

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Revelation of Jesus Christ

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

JD breaks out the book of Revelations brilliantly as follows:

Past          Ch1     Christ Crucified, Buried, Resurrected

Present    Ch 2-3     Church History

Future      Ch 4-5     Rapture

Ch 6-19     Seven Year Tribulation

Ch 20     Millennium

Ch 21-22     New Heaven and New Earth

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

Another great overview by JD of Bible prophecy.  He reviews the staggering number of headlines we have seen over just 4 days.

What really jumped out at me this week was his statement:

What should we be doing?  What is God laying on your heart?  Time is short.

JD did an amazing job this week breaking down some of the amazing UN speeches we heard.

It was amazing to hear how much prophecy was echoed in what they are saying.  Our Presidents speech was especially chilling given what we know of prophecy.

I agree whole heartily with JD warning for what is in-store if the Lord tarries.  If they manage to pass the UN resolution – Defamation of Religion, Christians are going to be directly impacted due to our core beliefs (John 14:6).

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

So we are all anxiously awaiting the Lord return for His Church.  I know I am, but what are we to do with all this anxiousness and anxiety while we wait faithfully and patiently (besides cracking our knuckles, tapping our pencil, or clicking our pen cap, my wife hates that).  The Lord was very specific and Peter gave some very interesting words about what we should be doing while we wait.  And wait really isn’t the right word, we are supposed to be busy doing the Lord’s will.

In 2 Peter 3:12, Peter drops a subtle hint that we can impact the timing of God’s plan and that should be our goal.

2 Peter 3:11-12

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! (emphasis added)

We are not just to be looking for His return.  That is important, but we are to be hastening the coming!

Can we really do that?

Yes, we know that God has a specific number of gentiles that must be brought to Christ before Christ’s return.  We can certainly help by spreading the Gospel.  Not only should we live it but we need to get aggressive about spreading God’s wonderful promise.  Especially now as things are looking bleaker and bleaker, what better time for Good News!

Pastor JD and Ryan both have good discussions of this topic below, JD in this weeks Aloha prophecy update and Ryan from an article posted on RaptureReady.com.

I Am Calling You Out, Church

By Ryan Vanderstelt

Where are you Church? Are you reading this? Are you as ready as I to go home? If you are anything like me, you have been waiting a LONG time for Christ to return. We have been standing in the train terminal with our bags packed, peering down the tracks for the faintest glimmer of light, testing the ground for that particular tremor and waiting for the sound of that Glorious Call. We watch for Feasts. We watch for the planets and stars to be in the right positions and the right color. We watch for those things while we hold our breath: “Is this it? Is it going to be tonight? Maybe while I sleep tonight? Will I wake up to Glory…or just wake up?”.

And yet, here…we…are – still standing in the train station checking our watches. Is the train late? We don’t know. He gave us some indications of when to expect him and we see those indications all around us, but still no train Home.

Truth is, there is something lacking that we, and I include myself here, seem to be overlooking. The one thing He said would hasten His arrival. We are waiting on some passengers to arrive at the station. We cannot expect to go until there are enough of us to fill the train to capacity. So instead of looking at all the things that are swirling around us, things we can all see are pointing to His return. I make the following proposal.

I want to form an “army” of sorts. A kind of Army of God. Please hear me out – I can hear the rustlings in your mind thinking this smacks of the Crusades of the Middle Ages, but I don’t mean exactly that. I am tired of waiting. It is time we start DOING!

If you’re not certain you’re saved, here is what you should do, right now:
  1. Acknowledge that you have sinned against a holy God and ask for forgiveness (even if you don’t feel you deserve it) (Rom. 3:23).  Genuinely feel the pain of your sin and be willing to turn from it (repent) (Acts 3:19).
  2. Believe in your heart and mind that Jesus is the Son of God, that he died on the cross for you (John 3:1-18) in your place, and was raised back to life.  There is no one else you can turn to (John 14:6): “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  3. Confess that you are trusting Jesus as your personal Savior.  Since Jesus is alive, you can talk to him.  This is called prayer.  So talk to him right now, in your own words, accept his invitation to know him.
It’s simple faith through grace, the kind of faith a little child would have.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)
Welcome brother or sister in Christ!  This is just the start of the journey, we are called to live in this world but not be of this world.  Begin studying God’s word (the Bible) daily to give you the strength and wisdom to live this calling out.  There are many sites like this that can help you as well.

Great update this week on what we are seeing take place.  If you haven’t had a chance to read Psalm 83 recently, I have placed the text below the video link.

_________________________________________________________________

Psalm 83

English Standard Version (ESV)

O God, Do Not Keep Silence

A Song. A Psalm of Asaph.

83 O God, do not keep silence;
do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
For behold, your enemies make an uproar;
those who hate you have raised their heads.
They lay crafty plans against your people;
they consult together against your treasured ones.
They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
For they conspire with one accord;
against you they make a covenant—
the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
Moab and the Hagrites,
Gebal and Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Asshur also has joined them;
they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. Selah

Do to them as you did to Midian,
as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
10 who were destroyed at En-dor,
who became dung for the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves
of the pastures of God.”

13 O my God, make them like whirling dust,[a]
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest,
as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so may you pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your hurricane!
16 Fill their faces with shame,
that they may seek your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever;
let them perish in disgrace,
18 that they may know that you alone,
whose name is the Lord,
are the Most High over all the earth.

  1. Psalm 83:13 Or like a tumbleweed

JD – appears to be in a lot of pain this week, we should keep him in our prayers.  I think it was his back from what I have pieced together.  Even through the pain, he does an amazing job of laying out the answer to:

Why the rapture?

Where do we see this in God’s word? (In more places than you think)

Why do we not see the words rapture in the bible? (It Greek to me, literally!)

And finally why it is important to believe God’s word about the rapture?

What really gives us hope?  Our Blessed Hope and Blessed Assurance!

If you have not asked Christ into your life, the essential gospel is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and that He was raised on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4).  Believing this is the only qualification for salvation.  We are sinners in need of a savior.  Jesus died for our sins, and to prove that His death was sufficient for us,  God raised Him from the dead on the third day. Believing in our heart that God raised Him from the dead is our assurance that He will raise us, too.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, (1 Cor. 15:3-4).

The Jerusalem Problem – Zechariah 12:3

Zechariah 12:3

New King James Version (NKJV)

And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.

Pastor JD is back with a great update, though always shorter than I would like.

He has such a clarity to his explanations of what we are seeing and what we should be focusing on these final days.

This weeks update from JD is very good but start around the 9 1/2 minute mark as he has some fathers day stuff at the beginning, which if you’re a father is nice but I understand that your time is valuable.

This weeks discussion is around the Rapture!  My blessed hope!

The Quote that struck me:  “It is time to be ready, it is too late to get ready.”

Great Commentary, take the time to listen.

JD does a great job laying out seven prophecy puzzle pieces we are seeing come to pass right now.

Wonderful!!

(Updated 6/13/12 – I added the follow video that continues the puzzle and begins connecting them.  He also does a great segment on the Laodicea Church at the end of the second video.)

Pastor JD echos the heavy heart that I have been feeling.  But that is not really a good description.  It is more than that.  It really is a very strange combination of heavy heart, intense feeling that something big is just about to happen (anxious & nervousness combined), and finally a felling of things getting harder, as if the incline is quickly increasing on the treadmill of life.

Not a simple or pleasant feeling or easily described, but even though I feel weighted down by it.  I have this thread of nervous excitement, anticipation.  For what I am not exactly sure.

When I heard JD’s update this week, I was so very comforted.  Not because it necessarily cleared anything up for me, but it echoed the feelings I was having.  It confirmed that it is not just me.  I have since confirmed this with other brothers and sisters in Christ that I trust and listen to.

He quoted some very eerie prophetic words from Paul Harvey back in 1965.  I have included the full audio & text of it below.  It was the second time I have heard it this week and it just really hits home.

Paul Harvey’s words really do exactly match what has happened since they were spoken some 47 years ago.  They paint a picture of what Paul told Timothy the last days would be like.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 – (NKJV) – Perilous Times and Perilous Men

3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Lets run down the list:

- Lovers of themselves — check

- Lovers of money — check

- Boasters and proud — check

- Blasphemers — check

- Disobedient to parents — check

- Unthankful — check

- Unholy — check

- Unloving — check

- Unforgiving — check

- Slanderers — check

- Without self-control — check

- Brutal despisers of good — check

- Traitors — check

- Headstrong, haughty — check

- Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — check

- Having a form of godliness but denying its power — check

I think that about sums up what we are seeing.  But wait you say, we have seen all of these things throughout history what makes this time special.

Ahh, I may agree if Paul was talking about the world but he is talking about the church.  This is what has crept into the church in the last days.  Read the next five verses.

2 Timothy 3:6-10 – (NKJV)

For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

The other piece that makes me so sure in my heart is the magnitude we are seeing and the combination with other end times signs.  It is the entire picture God is painting for us, if we just have eyes to see.

“For men will be lovers of themselves…” and

“…lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…”

Those two really stood out to me and drove the nail home.

The phrase “Pastors will preach man centered sermons” and the term “itching ears” pops into my mind.

JD does an excellent job stepping through the progression we are seeing.

God’s Word is truly amazing!  Praise God!

It is all there for us to read, all we have to do is have the desire to look.  To knock and the door will be opened…

Another area that JD explores is the comparison between the two end time churches Jesus speaks of in Revelation.

Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13) and Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22)

“…I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name….” - Revelation 3:8 (partial)

“You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’…” – Revelation 3:17 (partial)

What pastor JD pointed out that I had not caught before was that the Philadelphia (faithful) end time church will be “weak” or “weakened” in the last days.  It will be the Laodicea (unfaithful) church that will be strong when measured by this worlds standards.

Give it a listen, maybe it will bring you comfort as well.

Satan wants us uninterested in the things of God.

The stakes are so high: eternal life or eternal death.

Why would you not be concerned about that!

Pastor JD’s most recent prophecy update.  He looks at earthquakes and some of the deception around answers give for the question in the title.  He also gets into the why would God use such destruction.

Being thick-headed myself, I believe it is to get our attention.

I personally have been watching earthquakes daily and it seems like this year we are having a 6.0 pretty much every day.  Last year it was a 5.0′s that you would see everyday.  Definitely a magnitude increase.

Check it out!

God Bless

A great prophecy update this week from my favorite pastor.

He explores the link between the our backing of Israel and the severe weather we are seeing.

It all stems from God’s prophecy in Zechariah 12:3

Zechariah 12:3 – (NIV)

3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

It is amazing how precisely the amazing “natural disasters” (or “Acts of God”) occurred around our leaders “support” of Israel.

Some might say coincidence?

I no longer believe in “coincidence” or “luck”.  God’s hand is at work in our lives and this world.

He has a purpose for each and every one of us in his plan!
