Better than we found it

Wow, amazing the contrast, we are definitely split as a nation with different morals, values, and character….

This is an excellent example of Christs advice, that you will know a person by their fruits, this simple fruit (action) of picking up after ourselves, could it be any simpler than that?

Better than we found it

As someone who lives in D.C., I was happy to see people taking care to pick up after themselves at the conclusion of Saturday’s “Restoring Honor” rally.  Just like last fall’s 9/12 march, the grounds were left clean after the large crowds dispersed.  This is not always the case, however.  After the inauguration of President Barack Obama in January 2009, the National Mall looked like a landfill as people just left their newspapers and Starbucks cups for someone else to pick up.

Newsbusters has some great video comparing the last weekend’s rally with the Obama inauguration and asks an important question: Will the media notice the difference?

8/28/10 — Restoring Honor

January 20, 2009 — Inauguration of Barack Obama

On behalf of all D.C. residents, thanks for keeping it clean, folks!

Very interesting theory, God has said that those that come against Jerusalem will be cut to pieces, and that in the last days he will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for which all will turn against.  Very interesting, something to be watchful of….

I love this, some may scoff, but I feel it is a sign from God.

God’s Majestic Geese Flyover at 8/28 Rally

At exactly 10am there was a triangle formation of geese that flew exactly down the center of the rally and stayed in formation until the end. The crowd there was cheering as they knew God has sent his own version of a military flyover to bless the days events.

Below are a couple of videos I found. Enjoy!

Devotional: The Courtroom of the World

Today’s devotional is from Max Lucado’s book Grace for the Moment

The Courtroom of the World

You will be my witnesses–in Jerusalem,

in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every

part of the world.

Acts 1:8

We are witnesses.  And like witnesses in a court, we are called to testify, to tell what we have seen and heard.  And we are to speak truthfully.  Our task is not to whitewash nor bloat the truth.  Our task is to tell the truth.  Period.

There is, however, one difference between the witness in court and the witness for Christ.  The witness in court eventually steps down from the witness chair, but the witness for Christ never does.  Since the claims of Christ are always on trial, court is perpetually in session, and we remain under oath.

Just Like Jesus

Great message and reminder of what God has called us to do.  Witness to those around us through our words and our actions.  We must wake up those we care about and those who do not know Christ.  Time is short.

May Peace be with you!

This article caught my attention, as I looked through that third lens of scripture.

God said in the tribulation, common man will work an entire day for a days worth of food for one person, while the oil and wine will not be spoiled, inferring that the wealthy are going to be unaffected.

Are we starting to see signs of this?  Could it be related?

Revelation 6:6 – “And I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

Luxury booms while bargain retail suffers

Personal spending in the US is diverging into two distinct categories as strong growth at high-end stores contrasts with continuing difficulties for mass-market, low-price retailers.

Nearly a year after the US economy returned to growth, corporate earnings reports in recent months have provided consistent evidence of the differing fortunes. At high-end stores such as Neiman Marcus and Tiffany, shoppers are demonstrating confidence and spending with vigour. At the other end of the retail spectrum, consumers are cautious amid economic uncertainties, denting the earnings of groups such as Walmart.

In the second quarter of 2010, personal consumption expenditure – the commerce department’s main measure of consumer spending – advanced at an annualised rate of 2 per cent in the US, matching the fourth quarter 2009 figure and improving upon the 1.9 per cent gain recorded in the first quarter of this year. However, these modest increases are much weaker than the rebound in consumer consumption experienced after previous recessions.

For example, in the fourth quarter of 1982, even as the overall economy was only growing at a 0.2 per cent rate, consumption increased by 7.5 per cent. In the first quarter of 1992, consumer spending advanced by 7.1 per cent, and in the fourth quarter of 2001, by 6.4 per cent.

“Retail tends to be the leading edge of an economic recovery and this hasn’t been the case [this time round],” said Jack Kleinhenz, chief economist at the National Retail Federation. “People are finding ways to economise.”

This has hit mass-market retailers, which had initially managed to offset the impact of the recession on revenues through discounting.

More holes in the “sanctions with teeth”, to many more holes and Israel will probably feel then need to act.  So many countries have backed out of the proposed US sanctions, that one has to question how effective can they really be.

Also, take a look at who is a member of the ECO at the end of the article.  It looks pretty close to a list of the Ezekiel 38 war alliance….

ECO won’t abide by sanctions on Iran

TEHRAN – The Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will not follow sanctions against Iran, the organization’s secretary general said here on Sunday.

IRNA News Agency quoted Mohammad Yahya Maroofi as saying that, “the sanctions can’t affect Iran’s economy and the nation will continue its improvement alongside other ECO member states.”

“We have always tried not to let limitations and sanctions affect the economic development of the members,” he explained.

He also expressed hope that ECO’s member countries overcome the obstacles and expand the transportation and free trade inside the organization.

ECO is an intergovernmental organization involving seven Asian and three Eurasian nations. It provides a platform to discuss ways to improve development and promote trade and investment opportunities. The ECO is an ad hoc organization under the United Nations Charter.

The common objective is to establish a single market for goods and services, much like the European Union. ECO’s secretariat and cultural department are located in Tehran, its economic bureau is in Turkey and its scientific bureau is situated in Pakistan. The organization was founded by Turkey, Iran and Pakistan.

Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are the current members of ECO.

This article has two significant prophecy impacts.

First, it was prophesied that oil could be found at specific areas of Israel.  There was a company founded, Zion Oil, specifically to explore based on the prophecy and they have hit it big.  Huge finds of oil and natural gas right where God had predicted.  Amazing!  This was the story that really got me going on bible prophecy and I have followed ever since.

Second, it is said in Ezekiel 38 scripture that God put hooks in Magog (Russia) and pulled them south to plunder Israel as a motive for the attempted invasion.  The question that has stood open is what could they be after.  Israel had nothing that its surrounding neighbors had, all oil rich nations.  But God had saved the best for last and hid the prophecy until the appropriate time for it to be discovered.

Now based on the projections, Russia will have some competition in the natural gas space, currently, Europe is highly dependent on Russia’s supplies, but now not only does Israel have enough to be self-sufficient for the next several decades (six), but also has enough to export.

Very interesting developments  indeed….

Israeli waters may hold large oil reserves

The Israeli partners in a U.S.-led consortium developing a natural gas field off the Mediterranean coast say that up to 4.2 billion barrels of oil may lie under the seafloor in Israeli waters.

If confirmed, the find would mark the first significant oil reserves for Israel.

The Delek Group said in a statement Sunday that there is a 17 percent chance of finding 3 billion barrels at a depth of 19,000 feet (5,800) and an 8 percent likelihood of finding 1.2 billion barrels about 4,600 feet (1,400 meters) deeper.

Analyst Amit Mor says energy firms usually drill if there is at least a 10 percent chance of success.

Delek is working with Texas-based
