What is the gospel?
It is said to be Good News, but to me that seems to be the understatement of the century.
Sin entered the world through Adam and produced a divide between God and man. Christ came into the world to pay for our punishment for sin through His death on the cross. There by bridging the gap between God and man for all who accept and believe in Him.
Paul gives the best most succinct explanation of the Gospel that I have ever heard. In 12 minutes he lays out the core of what we believe as Christians and most importantly the why. Why is this so critical? This is the most important 12 minutes you will ever spend.

Unashamed!
Have you every wondered what that really translates into how we should live?
Another powerful explanation of how expansive (all-encompassing) the Gospel really is.
Eric does an amazing job of laying out what our acceptance of the Gospel means, what Christ has done and how He is inviting us to live our lives!
Powerful. Praise be to God!
This will stoke your fire to live for the Lord unashamed of the Gospel!
Something we need to be reminded of daily in our walk with the Lord!

Digging even deeper
Paul has a much longer sermon on what the Gospel should mean for our lives.
Amazing sermon. It really rings true, both in the Glorification of God and the conviction I feel in my heart. I actually jumped in my seat when around the 11:50 min mark he talks about our reaction to God’s commandments in our life. It rang so true.
Another quote by Paul that stood out is when talking about the shocking truth about Christianity and the Bible.
“There really is a God and this book really is true.”
That’s only a few of many great truths and plainly spoken.
He really explains why we believe the Gospel.

The Gospel and Prophecy
There are probably some that come to my site that wonder why pair the Gospel and Prophecy.
My short answer is it is kind of “chicken and the egg” thing. Does someone come to Christ through the fulfillment of prophecy playing out in front of them or does hearing the Gospel lead someones heart to Jesus and therefore opens his eyes to where we find ourselves in the middle of prophecy fulfillment.
It might have something to do with if your heart-led or mind-led, but that aside. I really think a lot of the church is missing out on a tool Christ gave us to lead the unbelievers to Him. How many times did Christ say, ” I tell you these things before they occur so that when they occur you will believe.” We find ourselves in a very unique situation as the church these days. Not since Christ walked the earth have we seen such a strong fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Literally, everywhere you turn it is being fulfilled before our very eyes. With the study of the Bible, especially Bible prophecy, the word of God is transformed into its true state as the “living word”.
I think this is the greatest loss our society has had over the last few generations. When was the last time you read the Bible? I mean really read it. Sat down in a quiet place, said a prayer for the Holy Spirit to reveal to you God’s will through His word, and opened to the New Testament and read a few chapters or an entire book? Any of the four Gospel’s or even the letters to the ancient churches. I have found since starting to do this daily that my world has changed dramatically.
It is a time commitment but what do we value more: our soul or seeing the latest couple of sitcoms showing on TV tonight? Or maybe it’s attaining another level on the latest computer game. Where is your treasure, your focus, your time? There are millions of “distractions” provided by this world to keep us asleep and unengaged. Meanwhile, God’s word is coming alive all around us just as He promised. He warns us to be watchful and not to be found asleep. What ever we can use to wake up our sleeping brothers & sisters, both inside the church and outside, we need to use urgently.
The bell is tolling, it is nearing midnight, and the birth pangs are upon us, continuing to escalate each day.
Maranatha, Lord come quickly!
