A load of topics and articles this morning, there are many prophecies in the process of fulfillment.

Seen any of these in the MSM?  Maybe a few but not enough.

It is amazing what is occurring these days.  Once one opens their eyes, the battle we are in is apparent.  I am not talking out a physical battle or struggle but a spiritual one.  Through a combination of deception, ignorance, and naivety:  we find ourselves in an incredible situation.

How can a group boldly make the threats and statements that this Islamic organization makes without any thought of backlash?  The audacity of their statement is almost beyond belief, but you know what, this world will submit and is submitting one little piece at a time.  It will be interesting to see if any MSM outlets pick up on this. Any bets?

My bet is none will.  It really shows how far gone we are as a nation (world) and the late hour we find ourselves in.  I am not saying the people of our nation are gone,  but we have lost control of the “machine” that controls much of our lives.  Too many are asleep and caught up in this world.  I am glad to see WND will not back down.  They need our support and prayers.

In the end, the question is as Paul stated in Romans 12:1-3.

Romans 12:1-3 – (NKJV)

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Are you of this world, conforming to it, or part of Christ’s kingdom and just a visitor?

God Bless!

Islamic group threatens WND

A man who says he represents the United Muslim Nations International organization has warned WND to “moderate” its reporting on issues involving Islam because of how Muslims may react.

The warning came in an email to WND from Faarooq al Mohammedi, who said he was asking on behalf of the Muslim organization that WND “comply as it would be in the companies (sic) best interest as we would not want to take you down the same rout (sic) as we have with other non-complaint media firms.”

The email warned WND to take “extra precaution when publishing religiously sensitive material or in creating religiously sensitive suspicions about peoples (sic) religious beliefs and practices.”

He threatened, “We would appreciate it if you could tighten your screening and moderation processes of articles to be published, any fake material published by WND will be taken as a breach of world news standards, religiously sensitive matters are to be based on solid and undeniable facts, failure to produce proofs of such published articles will give us no option but to bring about the complete removal of WND online as well as from the public in any print media.”

The essence of the warning was that WND needed to project an attitude of dhimmitude, the subservient role demanded of nonbelievers in a Muslim society. Dhimmis “recognize” their inferior status and appropriately serve the master Muslims.

It is amazing in the following two articles how contorted our “religions” have become today.  Satan has been working overtime as he too senses time is short.

What Rick is doing is fulfilling prophecy in two ways.  It is leading to a falling away of the church from foundational Bible beliefs, the Rock, to build a church on.  It is also beginning / aiding the roots of “One World Religion”.  Helping set the stage for the coming antichrist.

Both the authors do a great job laying out the comparision for the two sides Rick is trying to merge.  It is not possible to bridge the gap and still remain grounded on the Rock.  Deception is so great these days, I can see why Jesus said over and over when speaking of the last days: “Do not be deceived!”

I think finally God is showing me what it means to be watchful or a Watchman.  If you are not studying Bible prophecy, you have a greater risk of being deceived.  You don’t know what to look out for or may be too caught up in this world to even notice the path you are on.

Which road are you on?  (Two Roads, Two Gates, One Goal)

God Bless!

Rick Warren’s bridge to Islam

I’ve had a number of issues with Rick Warren over the years.

But, with his latest effort to find common theological ground with Muslims and suggesting Christians and Muslims worship the same God, the man dubbed “America’s Pastor” by the secular media is getting very close to heresy – if not crossing the line.

Here is the key to illustrating his error: Do Muslims even claim to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as Christians and Jews do? No, they do not. They believe God did not create a covenant with Isaac and Jacob, but rather with Abraham’s firstborn son Ishmael. They believe the Jewish and Christian Bibles are misrepresentations of truth. They believe the Quran accurately and faithfully represents the true personality and will of God.

This is not a minor theological difference. It is as basic and fundamental as it gets.

And the differences grow from there.

The following two articles/video do a good job laying out what it means to be a “True” Christian.  I put quotes around the true because I have never liked that label, either you are a Christian or you are not, though I understand there needs to be some way to distinguish via text discussions.

The pastor in the video is pretty hard on Franklin Graham as missing the mark.  I do agree with the pastors statements on faith, and I don’t think Franklin Graham went far enough to explain his reasoning and beliefs.  He walked that PC line and tried to remain polite and non-confrontational.  I think that was more out of shock of being ambushed as he was there to talk about his ministry in Africa and also out of politeness and not wanting to escalate the debate.  I do begrudge him for that.

That being said, I think we do need to get more bold in our statements on Christ, God’s Word, and our beliefs.  Time is short.  You can see that I think if you compare this year to 10 years ago, faith is a lot more front and center as a controversial issue, even with a year ago, you can see the escalation.

The second article does a great job laying out what we do know about Obama’s faith choices with his own words and writings.  It lays out the facts about the church he chose and what “journey” he has taken that shaped him for the last 10+ years.  It is a pretty stunning contrast to Christianity as we know it and well done.  Take sometime to read through it yourself.

God Bless!

Pastor’s take on Obama and Christianity

——————–

Is Obama really a true Christian?

Rev. Franklin Graham last week revealed that President Obama confided to him and his father during a recent visit to North Carolina: “I don’t go to church.”

Publicly, Obama insists he’s a practicing Christian.

“I have no idea what he really believes,” Graham said during an appearance on MSNBC.

It’s a deepening mystery. Pundits on both the left and right question the president’s faith. The growing debate marks a turning point in American politics, where discussing the personal religious beliefs of an elected official or candidate is taboo.

Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time,” doubts Obama is a practicing Christian.

“I just don’t believe it,” he said recently.

Maher suspects the president is an atheist.

GOP presidential contender Rick Santorum says Obama follows a “phony theology” not based on the Bible and preached by radicals.

I recently picked up a book by Jack Kelly on the seven things you need to know to understand end times prophecy.  It was a quick read but packed full of insights.  I am always looking for books that boil down the concepts the Bible lays out around End Times Prophecy, especially those that put it into context and on a rough “time-line”, maybe a better terminology would be “order of events”.

This book does that the best I have ever seen.  It also lays out key principles to follow with studying any Bible prophecy including: intended audience, translation, pronoun use, etc.

This book is the new book that I will hand out to those I talk to about Bible Prophecy that are just getting started, unpacking all of God’s wisdom of things to come.

Pick it up and take a look at it, I guarantee you will not be disappointed and will have at least one “ah-ha” moment, I had several.

Enjoy!

This is an amazing article by Jack Kelly.  I have been reading and listening to Romans recently and I had so many ah-ha’s while reading his article below that I lost count.

He does a wonderful job unpacking how we were designed to work and how sin has corrupted and confused that design.

I have added in the Scripture text that he referenced so that you can see God’s word on the subject.

Body, Soul, And Spirit

by Jack Kelly

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebr. 4:12-13)

Some people view the soul and body interchangeably, while others think the soul and spirit are the same. But it’s more accurate to think of them as separate components.  Our soul is the conscious part of us, composed of mind (intellect), will, and emotions.   It makes choices and controls our behavior by giving orders to the body. Our spirit is the subconscious part, an internal adviser to the conscious soul.  It’s  our conscience.

Todd had a great commentary this week.  It is part of the ongoing up is down, evil is good phenomenon that we are experiencing.

It just amazes me how extreme the contrast is between Christianity and Islam.  It plays out every time the same way and yet this world gives Islam a pass and says it’s the Christians or Jews that provoke them.

The real bad guy is this “1984” world are the “Christians” that burned the Korans (accidentally).  The Muslims that rioted and killed dozens of people, they were justified.

Let that sink in a minute.

They killed people over the accidental burning of a book!  And they are justified?

Todd’s comment of “shouldn’t they be at the Syrian embassy”,  I think speaks volumes for the religion.  They value a book (not the message in the book, but the book itself, more than human life.

It truly is the opposite of Christianity.

Muslims Gone Wild

A series of riots has swept over the nation of Afghanistan. Thousands of enraged Afghans have taken to the streets to vent their outrage after U.S. soldiers inadvertently set fire to copies of the Koran when clearing out a library of old books.

More than thirty people have been killed since the unrest began, including four U.S. soldiers. A group of demonstrators tried to attack the U.S. consulate in the city of Herat, setting police vehicles on fire.

We’ve been down this road before. Last year, at least twenty-four people died in protests across Afghanistan after Rev. Terry Jones threatened to burn a Koran outside his Florida church. In 2005, there were violent disturbances over claims of the Koran being mishandled, but those allegations turned out to be false.

Top American officials in Kabul are apologizing profusely for the incident. President Barack Obama has sent a letter to Afghan President Hamid Karzai apologizing for the Koran burning.

“I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident,” Mr. Obama wrote in the letter. “I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies.”

I am just dumbfounded over the idiocy of this situation. It should be obvious that there was no malice on our part. It’s insane to have the president of the U.S. groveling before people who are incapable of understanding the kindness we gave them. Before the American invasion, the Taliban brutalized the nation. We spend over a trillion dollars on this rat hole, and when we leave in 2014, the Taliban will probably be voted back into power.

Great message this week from pastor JD.

He also brought up Franklin Graham’s interview and I couldn’t agree with him more. (12:38 min mark)

He also mentioned a follow-up on the interview where Chris Matthews calls for Blacklist of Franklin Graham.  It appeared in Real Clear Politics on Thurs. 2/23.  I think it just adds to the magnitude of the interview as an example of what is occurring in this world.  We are living Bible Prophecy!

Another quote that jumped out at me from Pastor JD:

“You can have this world after we are gone.  You will only have it for seven years though.”

He also brought up a lot of other great prophecy events we are seeing unfold in the headlines.

He ended with quoting Philippians 2:9-12.

Philippians 2:9-12 – (NKJV)

Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

The last line does a good job summing up what the interviewers and much of this world lack.

They have no fear of God.

Terry lays out in this weeks Nearing Midnight article something I have been feeling as well.  It is strange how what he wrote is almost exactly the conversation my wife and I had late last night.

There is just a feeling of something big looming, accompanied by a sense of anxiousness.  The looming thing/event is also preceded by a feeling of a blanket of evil that is enveloping this world.  Everywhere you turn, it feels like evil is wrapping its tentacles throughout every inch of our public lives and in some cases appears to be winning the battle.

Worst yet, those of this world seem to be supporting it and promoting it.  To them what should be wrong is right.  I call it the “1984” effect.  What’s up is down and whats good is evil, 2+2=5.

I don’t know how anyone that has their eyes open, could not see we are living in the end times.  The signs are so vivid and numerous.

The part of Terry’s commentary that really struck a chord with me was the last 4-5 paragraphs.

He talks about the restrainer and how it will be removed in the last days.  Paul addresses it in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-10.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-10 – (NKJV)

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He[a] who now restrains will do so until He[b] is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Then he posed the questions that really hit home for me:

” How can God be ‘taken out of the way’ so evil and Antichrist can take over for a time?”

God promised us that once sealed with the Holy Spirit that it could not be removed from us.  So if the Holy Spirit has to be removed, then so do we (the church).

The church must be raptured as Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 and 5:1-11.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 – (NKJV)

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 – (NKJV) – The Day of the Lord

5 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Yet another proof point on the Rapture of the church and a message of joy in this time of anxiousness.  Could that anxiousness really be the Holy Spirit prodding us, preparing us, to look up for our redemption draws near?

It’s almost time to go home!!!

Rapture Ready – Nearing Midnight Commentary 2/27/12

Restraining Sudden Destruction

There is a sense among many at this moment in history that impending disaster presses against the fabric of life on planet earth from every side. This is not mere paranoia pushing against the collective anxiety-ridden psyche of a world uncertain about its future. The threat is real, and it is in Bible prophecy. A quick scan of issues, events, and anticipated actions testify to the reality of the threat and validates the angst.

Israel is ground zero for much of the fear pressing upon a world full of dread. The Jewish state is considered the trigger point for possible nuclear conflict in the Middle East–conflict that is sure to spread globally once unleashed. Iran is the antagonist that is the cause of the most immediate threat to regional and world peace–although the world diplomatic community seems intent on making Israel responsible for keeping war from erupting. This is the way it is, despite the fact that the Iranian regime’s leaders threaten to wipe Israel off the map.

I have watched this interview about 20-30 times now and just can’t seem to get it out of my head.  It has bothered me on multiple levels.

I think Reverend Graham did a great job.  He stayed true to God’s Word & message and was amazingly calm, I am sure he would tell you the Holy Spirit helped.

What bothered me was the tenacity at which the interviewers came after him.  It was obvious they did not know God.  They did not understand the concept of knowing a man’s heart through his fruit.  They missed the point of the difference between a “good person” and a christian.

The mocking tone was also almost defining, you could feel the contempt in their voice and body language.  They could not contain it.  It reminded me of Jude where he spoke of the mockers we would experience in the last days.

Jude 1:17-19 – (NKJV)

17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19 These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

But what really hit it home for me was how they completely dismissed all of the “fruit” that Reverence Graham laid out for them.  Let’s list them. Some he stated and others that have come up recently.

1. Obama’s stance and support on abortion.

2. His stance and lack of support for Israel.

3. His stance and lack of support for the Christians being killed overseas.

4. On the opposite side, the total pass he gives to Muslim efforts / groups.

5. His support of Gay Rights regarding marriage and protected class status/hate speech.

6. His stance on contraceptives within Obama Care.

7. The complete removal of God from everywhere in our public society on his watch.

8. How he has had covered any Christian symbols when giving speeches.

9. How he has omitted God / Creator when quoting historical documents from our founding. (multiple times)

I am sure there are more, but do the above seem at all to point to a Christian?  Even if you only believe in 2-3 of them would it be enough to have some questions?

It is true that only God knows a man’s heart and can know if he is saved (born again) but he taught us about the “fruits” so we could have some reference point to discern.  It is obvious that the interviewers did not get that.

You could tell the frustration in their voices as they pushed the question over and over.  “Why can’t we get ‘America’ to admit that Obama is a Christian?”  It is because Americans have doubts because of his actions, his “fruits”.  It is what James meant by “without works”.  Once you are born-again you can’t help but further God’s Kingdom out of sheer gratitude of the gift of salvation.

Prophetic signs are accelerating, there are so many to try and keep up with that I have felt very overwhelmed and a bit schizophrenic recently.  After much prayer, I have decided to not try and keep up with all of them as I have in the past but try to pick the clearest one or two and present it here for you.

The one that stood out this morning to me was the warning that Iran’s spiritual leader gave this week.  It was eerie to hear these words and not see it echoed in our media.  Many will have no idea of what Iran is telling their people and their Muslim allies.  The first quote that jumped out at me was as follows:

Khamenei then claimed the current century as the century of Islam and promised that human history is on the verge of a great event and that soon the world will realize the power of Allah.

We have heard similar things before from Iran’s leaders, but this time around there was a immediacy to all of their statements.  (more…)
