Great sermon on the simplicity of the gospel, how quickly we forget that and try to add to it, for our own account and benefit.  There is really only one true way and it is through simply Jesus.

Remember, the darker it gets, the brighter and farther our little light shines!

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

In Romans 10 Paul lays out how salvation is open to all, Jew and Gentile.  He writes:

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” – Romans 10:4-5

What he is saying is now it is not about works or how closely to a “T” you follow the law.  But that it is through God’s gift of grace through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.  It is really that simple, and yet a hard step for some of us.

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9

Christ is the narrow gate (Matthew 7:13-14), through faith in Him you will be saved.  It is the only “works” that God requires for eternal salvation.

The evil of this world is rushing to do as much damage as they can before 1/20.  Just stunning, simply stunning…

And to add insult to injury, it appears as if the Vatican is on board with the anti-Israel movement.  The double standard is so bold.

Must see!  Some stunning revelations midway…

Great commentary on the prophecies we are seeing fulfilled as the darkness increases.

I particularly liked his reading of Psalm 73 and how it fits with how many of us feel today.

It should give us hope and focus our attention where it belongs, on Christ Jesus.

And the lesson from the headless snake is a must hear…

Oh, how JD has hit the nail on the head with how I am feeling these days!

It is just sheer insanity what we are seeing unfold before our eyes.  But bring that up to anyone and they look at you like you are the insane one.

In these times of strong delusion and deception my only hope is in the Lord, the great I AM!

Geneva Bible (1599)

2Thes 2:1-3 – “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our assembling unto him, That ye be not suddenly moved from your mind, nor troubled neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as it were from us, as though the day of Christ were at hand.  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a departing first, and that that man of sin be disclosed, even the son of perdition.”

This is the beginning of a great series by JD.  It is oh so relevant to what we are seeing and feeling as Christians living in this fallen world.

The real question we must ask ourselves is: Am I living in this world for myself or for God?

Have I died to myself and am only living in this would not being “of this world”.  For those that are not “of this world”, this world will hate.  We are seeing that escalate.

The quote from JD that hit me the hardest was when he states:  We are at a crossroad of decision everyday of our lives.  Are we going to pick up our cross (die to self) and follow Christ today or are we going to live for ourselves (for our own gain) as part of this world.

That is what Jesus meant in Luke 9:23

Luke 9:23-26

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. 24 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. 25 For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? 26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

And do we really know the consequences of living for ourselves?

It was laid out for us in Matthew 6 and James 4:

Matthew 6:24

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

James 4:4

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Notice the choice of words in Matthew.  We “CANNOT” serve two masters, this is a choice, and either or, and not something we should take lightly, also it is not a should or even something we could do if we really tried hard.

Second, James spells out the consequences of our choice, which took my breath away.  Me and enemy of God?  That is a very important daily decision.  Something I think many of us take way to lightly each and every morning.

If you wonder what it means to die to self and achieve absolute surrender.  There is an excellent book by Andrew Murray called Absolute Surrender.  He does a great job of laying out what it means and why it is so important in less than 100 pages.

We must choose to pick up our cross daily and not be ashamed of the Gospel.  We can not stand for a watered down version to appease their itchy ears.  It is so important in these last days.  God will do the work, we just need to stand up and let Him work through us.

Remember, the darker it gets, the brighter and farther our little light shines!

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

There are a lot of interesting prophecies intersecting right now.  For those that have not been paying attention they probably missed the few headlines that these preliminary events drew but they were really huge.

First, a few months back, Sec. of State John Kerry announced to the world that the Middle East peace plan was on a 9 month track that would end during April 2014.  And not just anytime in April but on the exact day of a Jewish Feast.

Second, we also have signs in heaven that are going to occur between now and then as the Comet ISON will make its almost month-long appearance in the sky during the month of December.  Then in April of next year, we will have the first of two blood moons, both on Jewish Feast days and also corresponding to the “conclusion” of the peace process as mentioned above.

“…four blood moons coming over the next two years – on the Jewish Passovers on April 15, 2014, and April 4, 2015, and the Feasts of Tabernacles on Oct. 8, 2014, and Sept. 28, 2015.”
Read more at http://www.wnd.com/2013/10/blood-moons-expert-watch-2014-and-2015/#mWAgYr1pIFZzJWkd.99

And it is not just this time, only 3 other times has a single Blood moon occurred in the last 100 years and all three fall on key years/dates for Israel…

… lunar eclipses foretell things about ISRAEL, and solar eclipses foretell things about other nations.  So I go back and look up solar eclipses with these dame characteristics and what I found is ASTOUNDING!!!  This type of lunar eclipse has happen three previous times in the last 100 years.  They happened in 1948, 1967, and 1973!!  If you know your history, you know that these dates are all dates of every war Israel has fought since her birth in 1948!!!  This eclipse is announcing another war – this time it’s the Ezekiel 38/Psalms 83 war that we’ve been expecting to blow up anytime now.  Every single one of these wars started ONE WEEK TO THE DAY after their corresponding eclipses…   <Full Article/Post>

Third, we now hear that the Iranian Nuke deal (that is really not a deal at all) will have a freeze for 6 months.  That time concluding at the same time in April as the Blood Moons and the Israel/Palestinian peace deal.  Coincidence?  Before you answer let me add in one other tidbit from the past.

Side note:  Is it just me or is Israel standing alone just as the Lord predicted in Zechariah 12:3. Netanyahu even said all of the other nations would regret it and we would be “severely injured”.

Zechariah 12:3 (NASB)

It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely [a]injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.

Footnotes:

  1. Zechariah 12:3 Lit scratched

The last time there was a Blood Moon, it was on a Jewish Feast day of Yom Kippur, which was also the time the Yom Kippur War broke out in the Middle East in 1973.  So I ask you again:  coincidence?  No way!  Something is headed our way and it is all aligning, just as God has foretold us through His word, the Bible.

Jesus said in John 14:

John 14:29 (NASB)

29 Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.

He did not want us to be surprised by these things or ignorant of them.  We are not to be scared or worried, but to rejoice for He is in control and has promised to keep us (His bride) from the worst.  It is our blessed assurance.

Titus 2:12-14 (NASB)

12 [a]instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of [b]our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

Footnotes:

  1. Titus 2:12 Or disciplining
  2. Titus 2:13 Or the great God and our Savior

We need to stand on the Rock and be lights unto this world as it is growing dark, very dark indeed.  Can you feel it?  I can.  Things are backwards, opposite, and upside down in almost every way and every area of life now.  Isaiah prophesied it would be during the last days.

Isaiah 5:20 (NASB)

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who [a]substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who [b]substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Footnotes:

  1. Isaiah 5:20 Lit set
  2. Isaiah 5:20 Lit set

We are seeing this come to light all around us, in every area of our lives.  Christianity is held up as a hateful religion and Islam is a religion of Peace.  Marriage is bad, unless it is between two members of the same-sex.  Our 2nd amendment and the death penalty is held up as evil, but the killing of an unborn child is considered a right to avoid the “inconvenience” of giving birth and raising them.  If you think the Sun’s cycles may have more to do with the hot and cold trends of our planet than man ever could, you are considered a flat earther/idot.  We can now be charged a tax for simply breathing due to the affordable care act. And today we find our world governments and banks, looking to charge people money to deposit (hold) their money for them and in turn block them from taking it out when they want.

Good is Evil and Evil is Good.  The world is upside down and so few seem to notice!  How distracted have we become?

Isaiah was right.  God was right.  This is a sinful world and we should strive, as adopted children of God, to be “not of this world” but aliens in a foreign land.  Visitors.  Doing His will until He comes back to claim His bride (the church).

Watch this weeks prophecy update from JD, he does an excellent job at tying together the dots and why this is sound doctrine.  Christ will come to rapture His church very soon!

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

Surprise double update this week on Syria, the hour we find ourselves in, and a great breakdown of Paul’s discussion of the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians and 2 Thessalonians.

At the end of the first video JD gives an amazing breakdown of what Communion should mean to us and what the Lord was really saying to the disciples and the church.  We take such a shallow look at things so many times and it is so refreshing to hear the truth and dig deep into the Lord’s word to us.  His blessed reassurance!

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

This is a great series of why the Rapture is closer that ever before.  It is done by one of my favorite pastors JD Farag of the Calvary Chapel Kanoehe.

You will not be disappointed!  Some of these I have listed before but re-listed them so we could have them all in one spot.

Reasons why Rapture closer than ever:

  1. Scoffers 4/14/13
  2. Absence of US in Prophecy 4/21/13
  3. Blind Acceptance: Islam 4/28/13
  4. Specific Mid East Nations in Prophecy (Egypt and Syria) 5/5/13
  5. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 – Moral Decay within church 5/12/13
  6. 3 Timothy 4:3-4 – Perilous times of Spiritual Decay within church 5/19/13
  7. Luke 17:26-30 – Days of Noah and Days of Lot 5/24/13
  8. Increase of Knowledge – Religious and Technology Daniel 12:4 6/2/13
  9. Swiftness of Ezekiel 38 (Turkey – Arab Spring) 6/9/13
  10. Lateness of the Hour since Israel was reborn May 1948 – 6/16/13

The Lord has been putting on my heart a few things.  I have been working hard to tie them together and I think JD just helped me greatly.  The three things he has put on my heart through studying His word over the last week are:

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first – 2 Thes. 2:3

Then you will discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God. – Proverbs 2:5

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil – Isaiah 5:20

The Lord is amazing.  He says: “If you seek her (wisdom) as silver and search for her (wisdom) as for hidden treasures” (context mine)- (Proverbs 2:4)  Then you will discern the fear of the Lord.  We have to seek, meaning reading God’s word directly, and when we do, it is amazing what He reveals and how He reveals it.

2Peter below is one of the keys that JD laid out.  It is the passage on what we can expect and why.  The scoffers of Christs return are many and the intensity he mentions is so true, you can feel it.  If you even mention: prophecy, rapture, Christ, Gospel, Christs Return, or Judgement.  You will feel the intensity of the push back.  They do not want to hear sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3).

2 Peter 3:3-12

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Coming Day of the Lord

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” For [a]when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

A New Heaven and Earth

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and [b]its works will be [c]burned up.

11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

Footnotes:

  1. 2 Peter 3:5 Or they are willfully ignorant of this fact, that
  2. 2 Peter 3:10 Lit the works in it
  3. 2 Peter 3:10 Two early mss read discovered

I implore you to watch the full video, it is an amazing update on what we are seeing and why.

How far have we come?  We are mocked if we even bring it up.  We are called the evil ones, met with scorn.

We are at the hour.  Why?

The world is busy fulfilling their own evil desires, believing everything goes on as it has since creation.

Judgement is coming!  We must turn back to God.

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

Wow what can I say?  That is a lot of ground to cover in one weeks update, but would you believe we had all of that and then some in the headlines on a single day.  JD does a wonderful job laying out the big picture, the forest, the puzzle!

All the pieces are coming into place.  My only explanation for why people don’t see it is that they are perpetually distracted with the things of this world.  Christ called it being “asleep”.  Having awoken, I think that is a good description of what it was like.  It is not coincidence that all these things are happening on the same  day/week/month.

It is prophecy.

God’s will being fulfilled.

JD does a great job laying out the major signs we have seen in the heavens and on earth just since the beginning of the year.

He skipped earthquakes because there are simply too many.  I need to do a count but we are averaging a least one 6.0+ earthquake or more a day.  A few years back you use to see a 6.0 maybe a dozen times a year.  Things are very much heating up.

If you ever wondered how you could increase your discernment, JD lays it out very well this week as he explores why we believe what we believe.

By studying the Truth, Gods word, you get so familiar with the Truth that any deception placed before you, leaps out at you as untrue.

On the flip side, I think this is why so many are deceived today.  No one reads their Bibles, God’s word.  Or they read these watered down interpretations of God’s word.  Versions that have been made “PC” and hip with today’s culture.  Supposedly covered with sugar to help the medicine go down.

Studying God’s word is medicine for what ails us, but it shouldn’t need sugar to take it, it will turn our lives right side up and free us from our captivity.  The Truth will set you free!

God’s word keeps our minds sharp and on guard against the overwhelming deception we are surrounded and taken captive by today.  You must know the Truth, to know when your being fed the counterfeit.

In the second half of JD’s sermon on getting back to the basics, he puts forth Revelations as the place to start.  Some would call this odd but after listening to his sermon, I am in 100% agreement, I believe that is exactly what God wants us to do, and why this world tries to make Revelations seem so scary and forbidden.

God spoke to John and told him to write about what he had seen (past), what was currently (present), and what will come (future).

Revelation 1:1-3

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

The Revelation of Jesus Christ

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

JD breaks out the book of Revelations brilliantly as follows:

Past          Ch1     Christ Crucified, Buried, Resurrected

Present    Ch 2-3     Church History

Future      Ch 4-5     Rapture

Ch 6-19     Seven Year Tribulation

Ch 20     Millennium

Ch 21-22     New Heaven and New Earth

Maranatha, Lord come quickly!

JD did an amazing job this week breaking down some of the amazing UN speeches we heard.

It was amazing to hear how much prophecy was echoed in what they are saying.  Our Presidents speech was especially chilling given what we know of prophecy.

I agree whole heartily with JD warning for what is in-store if the Lord tarries.  If they manage to pass the UN resolution – Defamation of Religion, Christians are going to be directly impacted due to our core beliefs (John 14:6).

John 14:6

New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

So we are all anxiously awaiting the Lord return for His Church.  I know I am, but what are we to do with all this anxiousness and anxiety while we wait faithfully and patiently (besides cracking our knuckles, tapping our pencil, or clicking our pen cap, my wife hates that).  The Lord was very specific and Peter gave some very interesting words about what we should be doing while we wait.  And wait really isn’t the right word, we are supposed to be busy doing the Lord’s will.

In 2 Peter 3:12, Peter drops a subtle hint that we can impact the timing of God’s plan and that should be our goal.

2 Peter 3:11-12

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! (emphasis added)

We are not just to be looking for His return.  That is important, but we are to be hastening the coming!

Can we really do that?

Yes, we know that God has a specific number of gentiles that must be brought to Christ before Christ’s return.  We can certainly help by spreading the Gospel.  Not only should we live it but we need to get aggressive about spreading God’s wonderful promise.  Especially now as things are looking bleaker and bleaker, what better time for Good News!

Pastor JD and Ryan both have good discussions of this topic below, JD in this weeks Aloha prophecy update and Ryan from an article posted on RaptureReady.com.

Maranatha – Lord come quickly!

I Am Calling You Out, Church

By Ryan Vanderstelt

Where are you Church? Are you reading this? Are you as ready as I to go home? If you are anything like me, you have been waiting a LONG time for Christ to return. We have been standing in the train terminal with our bags packed, peering down the tracks for the faintest glimmer of light, testing the ground for that particular tremor and waiting for the sound of that Glorious Call. We watch for Feasts. We watch for the planets and stars to be in the right positions and the right color. We watch for those things while we hold our breath: “Is this it? Is it going to be tonight? Maybe while I sleep tonight? Will I wake up to Glory…or just wake up?”.

And yet, here…we…are – still standing in the train station checking our watches. Is the train late? We don’t know. He gave us some indications of when to expect him and we see those indications all around us, but still no train Home.

Truth is, there is something lacking that we, and I include myself here, seem to be overlooking. The one thing He said would hasten His arrival. We are waiting on some passengers to arrive at the station. We cannot expect to go until there are enough of us to fill the train to capacity. So instead of looking at all the things that are swirling around us, things we can all see are pointing to His return. I make the following proposal.

I want to form an “army” of sorts. A kind of Army of God. Please hear me out – I can hear the rustlings in your mind thinking this smacks of the Crusades of the Middle Ages, but I don’t mean exactly that. I am tired of waiting. It is time we start DOING!

If you’re not certain you’re saved, here is what you should do, right now:
  1. Acknowledge that you have sinned against a holy God and ask for forgiveness (even if you don’t feel you deserve it) (Rom. 3:23).  Genuinely feel the pain of your sin and be willing to turn from it (repent) (Acts 3:19).
  2. Believe in your heart and mind that Jesus is the Son of God, that he died on the cross for you (John 3:1-18) in your place, and was raised back to life.  There is no one else you can turn to (John 14:6): “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  3. Confess that you are trusting Jesus as your personal Savior.  Since Jesus is alive, you can talk to him.  This is called prayer.  So talk to him right now, in your own words, accept his invitation to know him.
It’s simple faith through grace, the kind of faith a little child would have.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)
Welcome brother or sister in Christ!  This is just the start of the journey, we are called to live in this world but not be of this world.  Begin studying God’s word (the Bible) daily to give you the strength and wisdom to live this calling out.  There are many sites like this that can help you as well.

Great update this week on what we are seeing take place.  If you haven’t had a chance to read Psalm 83 recently, I have placed the text below the video link.

Psalm 83

English Standard Version (ESV)

O God, Do Not Keep Silence

A Song. A Psalm of Asaph.

83 O God, do not keep silence;
do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
For behold, your enemies make an uproar;
those who hate you have raised their heads.
They lay crafty plans against your people;
they consult together against your treasured ones.
They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
For they conspire with one accord;
against you they make a covenant—
the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
Moab and the Hagrites,
Gebal and Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
Asshur also has joined them;
they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. Selah

Do to them as you did to Midian,
as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
10 who were destroyed at En-dor,
who became dung for the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves
of the pastures of God.”

13 O my God, make them like whirling dust,[a]
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest,
as the flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so may you pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your hurricane!
16 Fill their faces with shame,
that they may seek your name, O Lord.
17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever;
let them perish in disgrace,
18 that they may know that you alone,
whose name is the Lord,
are the Most High over all the earth.

JD – appears to be in a lot of pain this week, we should keep him in our prayers.  I think it was his back from what I have pieced together.  Even through the pain, he does an amazing job of laying out the answer to:

Why the rapture?

Where do we see this in God’s word? (In more places than you think)

Why do we not see the words rapture in the bible? (It Greek to me, literally!)

And finally why it is important to believe God’s word about the rapture?

What really gives us hope?  Our Blessed Hope and Blessed Assurance!
