End times prophecy tells us that there will be both a falling away within the church as well as the rise of a single world religion.
The two articles here show the contrast of the direction we are heading.
The first article talks about how certain church leaders have written the president urging and encouraging him to stand strong for peace and end the occupation that began in 1967. Wait who’s side are they on? (That’s another story for another day…) What I noticed while reading the article is how reliant they were on the human ability, yes the mentioned prayer, but most of it was on our human ability to achieve lasting peace.
From the Bible, we know that only Jesus, will bring lasting peace to earth following His second coming after the tribulation.
I was especially shocked at the statement:
“Mr. President, we are praying for you as you seek to bring God’s justice and peace to a place torn by walls and weapons,” the leaders concluded. “We are convinced that with your vigilant support this dream can be fulfilled, and the lives of Palestinians and Israelis, as well as U.S. national security interests, can be transformed for the better.”
Do those bolded sections match our understanding of God’s Word? Can a human bring God’s justice and peace to anywhere, earth or otherwise? It is shocking, then followed up with his (little his, as in presidents) support can make the dream come true. Wow, that sure is different from what I have been reading. We are called to spread God’s Love and His Word which leads to salvation. God & Christ are responsible for justice. That is what is wrong with “social justice”.
The second article is almost the complete opposite. God prophesies in Ezekiel 37 that he will breathe breath back into Israel. Meaning that he will turn them back toward God. The rabbi in the second article talks about how victory is impossible without God on our side. Reminding his fellow Israelites of the miracles they saw during the six-day war and how that contrasted to their defeat in the second Lebanon war when they relied on their human power only.
Compare his statement below with the one quoted from the “Christian” church organizations above:
‘ What do you all think, that you can succeed without help from God? Without the Torah of Israel? Without Torah scholars?” stressed the Shas head. He paused and continued, “Whoever does not believe that the nation of Israel lives above nature is a heretic.”
Very strong words, but then we all serve a strong God!
Keep a careful watch on the church you attend and those you work with. This was specifically an area that Jesus said to stay watchful so you are not deceived. We need to remain founded in God’s Word, the Bible, nothing else.
Matthew 24:3-5 – “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”
Matthew 24:23-27 – “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Church Leaders Press Obama on Mideast Peace Talks
Over two dozen Christian leaders are urging U.S. President Barack Obama and negotiators to continue their efforts in helping leaders of the State of Israel and the Palestinian Authority reach a peace agreement.
In a letter to Obama dated Monday, the 28 leaders said they were pleased by the success of Obama’s diplomacy in bringing the prime minister of Israel and the president of the Palestinian Authority together in Washington this week to resume stalled peace talks.
“We fully support your goal of ending the occupation that began in 1967 and achieving a just, lasting and comprehensive peace with a viable Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace and security,” stated the leaders, which included the heads of the National Council of Churches, the Reformed Church in America, the National Baptist Convention of America, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
But the Christian leaders acknowledged the difficulty of the task ahead and the “deep convictions” both sides hold that are contrary to those held by the other.
“Although many issues have been clarified in past negotiations, major compromises by both sides will be needed at considerable political risk and cost,” they added.
The U.S.-brokered negotiations, scheduled to start Thursday, will be the first in 20 months between the two sides.
While Palestinians aspire to an independent state in the territory that Israel conquered in the 1967 war, Israel maintains that the territory is disputed and has stressed its need for security. Key issues in the negotiations are borders and the fate of Jewish settlements on land Palestinians want for a future state.
In their letter Monday, the Christian leaders advised U.S. negotiators to “empower both sides to take risks for peace and when necessary to make proposals to bridge remaining differences.”
“The United States must be clear that actions or words by either side in the coming year that undermine confidence in the negotiations, incite disrespect or prejudge the outcome of final status issues will not be tolerated,” they added.
The leaders also said if an agreement is not reached within the coming year, as Obama hopes, “it may not be reachable at all.”
“For that reason we call on you and your negotiating team to continue your vigilant efforts to help the parties find acceptable solutions,” they told the president before pledging to support the peace effort by maintaining and expanding their dialogue on this issue with American Jewish and Palestinian communities.
“Mr. President, we are praying for you as you seek to bring God’s justice and peace to a place torn by walls and weapons,” the leaders concluded. “We are convinced that with your vigilant support this dream can be fulfilled, and the lives of Palestinians and Israelis, as well as U.S. national security interests, can be transformed for the better.” <Link>

‘2nd Lebanon War defeat was result of distance from God’
Israel was defeated in the Second Lebanon War in 2006 because people had distanced themselves from God, according to Interior Minister and Shas head Eli Yishai.
Speaking at a Tel Aviv synagogue on Tuesday, Yishai explained that Israel experienced miracles during the Six-Day War in 1967, but in 2006 Israel suffered defeat due to distance from God.
“During the Six-Day War, against all the Arab armies, for every one of our soldiers, they had 10,000 soldiers, for every one of our tanks, they had 10,000 tanks, for every one aircraft, they had at least 10 planes,” Yishai told Shas supporters at a Kiryat Shalom synagogue.
“How could the Israeli nation go to war against all the Arab armies, who could have defeated us by simply walking. Can anyone explain this miracle and wonder?”
“And then there is the Second Lebanon War, without Syria, Jordan, without Libya. Only 2,000 Hizbullah fighters. Two thousand!” Yishai told his supporters. “Look what happened. Do you know why this happened? Because we said, ‘My power and the might of my hand brought me this fortress.’ What do you all think, that you can succeed without help from God? Without the Torah of Israel? Without Torah scholars?” stressed the Shas head.
He paused and continued, “Whoever does not believe that the nation of Israel lives above nature is a heretic.” <Link>
