Syrian drought ‘really bad’

More drought and crop/livestock concerns.  The article seems pretty tame till you get to the last line.

The United Nations estimates 1.3 million people have been affected by the drought and herders have lost at least 80 percent of their livestock.

I would say that is significant….

Devotional: The Wages of Deceit

Today’s devotional is from Max Lucado’s Grace for the Moment

The Wages of Deceit

No one who is dishonest

will live in my house; no liars

will stay around me.

Psalm 101:7

More than once I’ve heard people refer to the story [of Ananias and Sapphira] with a nervous chuckle and say, “I’m glad God doesn’t still strike people dead for lying.”  I’m not so sure he doesn’t.  It seems to me that the wages of deceit is still death.  Not death of the body, perhaps, but the death of:

a marriage–Falsehoods are termites in the trunk of the family tree.

a conscience–The tragedy of the second lie is that it is always easier to tell than the first.

a career–Just ask the student who got booted out for cheating or the employee who got fired for embezzlement if the lie wasn’t fatal….

We could also list the deaths of intimacy, trust, peace, credibility, and self-respect.  But perhaps the most tragic death that occurs from deceit is our [Christian] witness.  The court won’t listen to the testimony of a perjured witness.  Neither will the world.

Just Like Jesus

_________________________________________________________________

In a lot of cases the lie is not the original sin, but the covering up of a sinful act.

To extend Max’s list, you could look at a list of headlines today and probably pick out quite a few that involved a lie.

I think this is another reason why God holds it in such disdain, is it is so easily done.  It slips right off the lips, but can cause so much pain and damage.

God as a good Father, knows the pain it will bring so he tries to warn us over and over, from the first days of man.

May God Bless you!

Good summary by Frank on tying several of the prophecy signs we have been seeing together….

_________________________________________________________________

Frank DiMora’s Post from Sept. 9th, 2010

I am posting today as I was lead by the Lord to give you this information however, I will be off line while I seek Christ for some answers. I will return as the Lord leads. Thank you all for your prayers.

Prophecy Sign: Revelation 16:8 “The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire.” Prophecy Sign:Revelation 7: 16 “Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.” Prophecy Sign: Revelation 6:6, “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Prophecy Sign: Luke 21:25 is the sign of roaring seas and waves. Prophecy Sign: Mark 13:8 “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”

In my posts I have warned you of what is to come based on what Jesus has showed us from His warnings. There is no question we are now witnessing every word Jesus spoke to us about the weird weather and the intense heat that would cause much concern for the nations.  Scripture as you can see is very specific about the details of what is going to take place just prior to Jesus Christ returning to Earth.  In my book I provide you with a host of reports proving Christ’s warnings are upon us, but this next report is one that I haven’t put in my book yet as it is new news. The title to this new report is, “A common link among fire, floods, food riots: extreme weather”

Deadly riots in the streets of Mozambique over sharply higher food prices have left 13 dead. Anger is growing in Egypt (more…)

Pakistan: Finance Minister Warns Imminent Complete Economic Breakdown

The Sinister Plan is in final phase now.. Pakistani citizens simply have no idea that they are facing the worst ever crises in recent history. Floods will bring hyper-inflation, shortage of food, magnified power crises and collapse of entire political and economical system if this devastation continues. Now AmericaIsraelIndiaNato will have the perfect excuse that Pakistan nuclear weapons could go in hands of Taliban or Al Qaeda in these chaotic times when Pakistaniextremists are on the loose! armed and security forces are fully occupied doing rescue, relief and rehabilitation work in hundreds of cities and villages while  the economy is collapsing fast and

Two Roads, Two Gates, One Goal

This is one of my favorite articles.

It lays out in a very personal way, what salvation is suppose to be, the ultimate gift from God and how we can misinterpret it if we take it out of context.

I re-read this often as well as the similar verse from Paul in Ephesians.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  – Ephesians 2:8-10

Works do not give us our Salvation, it is a Gift from God and all we have to do is accept it.  Once we have accepted the gift, we willingly and gratefully search and follow his will for our lives, which are the good works which He prepared for us in advance.

I hope and pray you have accepted His Gift!  Time is running short.

Two Roads, Two Gates, One Goal

A Bible Study by Jack Kelley

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matt. 7:13-14)

This passage is often quoted in reference to the different roads traveled by unbelievers as opposed to believers.  Unbelievers are said to be on a broad road with many fellow travelers, all on the way to their destruction.  Believers on the other hand are a small segment of humanity and are on a narrow road to salvation.  This difference is further defined by some as pertaining to our behavior.  The unbeliever’s gate is wide and his road is broad, supposedly indicating that there’s room for all kinds of sinful behavior, while for the believer it’s a small gate and a narrow road suggesting that there’s very little latitude for misbehaving.  A careless step or two and you may find yourself being rerouted onto the broad road.

Great article, with some context around the different meanings of tribulation in the Bible and how they relate to the coming rapture.  Another good point he reminds us of at the end, is that the Bible is meant to be read literally and how important context can be.

_________________________________________________________________

There Is No Seven Year Tribulation by Jack Kelly

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NKJV)

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matt. 24:21 NKJV)

Every now and then I get a question from someone who says even though the pre-trib position seems to make sense scripturally, they can’t accept it because Jesus said we would have tribulation in this world, and that must mean the church will go through at least the first part of the Tribulation. When they say this they’re thinking of the first 3 ½ years.

Let’s get this straight.  There is no mention anywhere in the Bible of a seven year tribulation. According to Strong’s Concordance the Greek word translated tribulation in these two passages appears 45 times in the New Testament and tribulation is the English word of choice in  21 of them, including the two above.  It comes from a root meaning “to press” as grapes are pressed.  When used metaphorically it can mean oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, hardship, or trouble.  But while tribulation is the word that appears in both these verses, their intent is completely different.

What Does That Mean?

In John 16:33 Jesus said, in effect, that becoming a believer doesn’t mean your troubles are over. Troubles are characteristic of this world and as long as you’re in it you’ll have them.  But He has overcome this world and through faith in Him you will over come it too.

Imam: Moving Mosque Could Ignite Violence

This is unbelievable!  I am almost speechless….

Let me review to see if I have this right.

So we are attacked on 9/11 by muslims killing 2800+ innocent civilians,

nine years later they try to build a mosque two blocks from ground zero (set to open ON the 10th anniversary of 9/11),

they meet resistance from US citizens (which they warn will incite violence from muslims worldwide),

when asked, they refuse to consider moving the mosque or to limit funding to non-terrorist groups,

then when the Iman in charge is later interviewed and asked about moving the mosque, he claims:

“…that moving the facility could cause a violent backlash from Muslim extremists and endanger national security.”

He also states:

“The headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack.”

So we need to be sensitive to the muslims.

Who was attacked again? Oh, America.

And who was it that attacked?  Oh yeah, the muslims.

I guess it is also dark during the day and light at night.

Have we lost our minds?  (Evidently.)

Why are we playing these games?  Oh yeah, the muslims are so very sensitive.  You don’t want to upset their peaceful sensitivities or they will riot, burn things, attack and kill you.

We have departed reality and the world is upside down!

Oh wait, it is light outside, I better go to bed….

(If this isn’t enough, check out a related post: Fight 93 Memorial Mosque).

I have been bothered by the Quran burning stories and related articles recently.  But not in the same way that it seems like all the public figures have been.  Something just wasn’t right in the way it was covered and how the comparisons were made between “the Bible burning and christian’s reaction” and “the sugestion of Quran burning and muslim reactions”.  Then I read this article this morning.

This article sums up my feelings and what we are really facing here.  It is an extreme double standard overlayed with extreme deception.  We are told up is down and down is up.  Our world is spiraling out of control and most don’t even know it.  We are losing a silent creeping war that we don’t even acknowledge that we are fighting, the “don’t offend” war.

This quote sums it up best:

The AFA issues analysis director believes the whole incident illustrates the difference between Christianity and Islam. “When these Bibles were burned [in May 2009], the Christian community did not riot in the streets; we did not threaten violence against anyone,” he points out. “[But] when even the threat of Qurans being burned takes place, it’s like we’re dealing with Armageddon [or] with World War III.”

Fischer adds that Christianity is a religion of peace, but Islam is a religion of war and violence.

Another good example of this is an article I saw yesterday: City Council Meetings to Begin with Muslim Prayers.  It is not the fact that they are opening the meetings with muslim prayers, it is the reasoning they gave.

They stated that they would be opening all of their September council meetings with muslim prayers as “an act of solidarity” due to the recent anti-muslim rallies.  Excuse me, but did I warp into another alternate universe?

It was America that was attacked by muslims on 9/11, nine years ago.  And the protests are due to the insensitivity of the muslims trying to build an 11-story mosque a block from ground zero.  Shouldn’t it be the muslims we are asking to be sensitive to our citizens feelings and not the other way around?  Up is down and down is up!

We live in an hypocritical society these days.  The deception is so overwhelming and hypocrisy so thick you can not see the Truth!

We must turn back to God for the Truth.

Holy book burnings spark hypocrisy

BibleA pro-family organization says it’s hypocritical for high-ranking officials in the Pentagon to condemn a Florida church’s plans to burn Qurans when U.S. military personnel burned Bibles last year in Afghanistan.

Pastor Terry Jones told reporters outside his church in Gainesville Wednesday afternoon that he remains unconvinced that “backing down is the right thing” to do regarding the planned burning of Qurans on Saturday. That protest has drawn objection from Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. and NATO commander, who says images of burning Qurans will be used by extremists to inflame public opinion and incite worldwide violence. (See earlier story)

I posted a series of videos about this travesty a while ago, see link below at the end of my comments.  They note that they redesigned it in the article but that is very deceptive.  They pretty much added another line of trees and some other colors to obscure the original design, it is all broken out in the video.

I am so disappointed in our National Parks service that they are treating these concerns this way.  How can this be so backwards?  Who attacked who?  And who are we needing to be sensitive to, the victims or the attacker?

Why does the design point directly to Mecca?  It should point to the North or South Pole, gees.

Talk about insensitive.

Critics, Proponents Spar Over ‘Islamic Symbols’ in Flight 93 Memorial Design

NPS.gov/Paul Murdoch Architects

According to the National Park Service, the Field of Honor is a “large, bowl-shaped existing landform roughly circular, that forms the heart of the memorial and park.” Some critics of the design say they see an Islamic crescent.

Nine years after the heroes of Flight 93 rebelled against the terrorists who hijacked their plane — crashing it into a field in Shanksville, Pa., instead of allowing it to smash into an unknown, high-profile target in Washington, D.C. — the design of a memorial to honor the 40 passengers and crew who died remains a subject of bitter controversy.

When I Look at Mexico, I see America’s Future

Drug violence is out of control in Mexico. Mexican President Felipe Calderon took office in December 2006 and declared war on the cartels. In just short of five years, more than 28,000 people have died. This year alone, more than 7,000 have died.

In recent months, the violence has taken a turn for the worse. The carnage has reached a level that has finally forced the U.S. liberal media to take notice. Here are a few news bites that show how bad the situation in Mexico has become:

End-Times Kaleidoscope

Good Article from Rapture Ready’s Nearing Midnight weekly musings…

End-Times Kaleidoscope

We have all done it one time or the other as children–and maybe even as adults. We have looked into a long tube and watched a constantly changing picture of colorful shapes and patterns. Kaleidoscopes with colored glass prisms rearranging while we turned the cylinder and watched through the little hole, were a source of entertainment–well, before technology made such entertainment…quaint…for lack of a better word.

I would like to revive the use of the kaleidoscope–at least the concept of the kaleidoscope—for purposes of trying to briefly view the shapes and patterns of these prophetic times. The twists and turns of hourly news indeed bring into view biblically prophetic reminders–shapes and patterns of what God’s Word says about things to come.

And remember, God’s Word is all-important in our viewing tube. We must have a bright light at the end of the kaleidoscope to fully illuminate the details of the display.

Looking into our kaleidoscope just within the past week, the specter of Tribulation-like developments begins to take on form and substance. Let’s twist the instrument just slightly to bring into some degree of focus the distinctives within each news item.

Did Castro find Jesus?

Both of these articles are amazing 180’s by Castro.

Report: Castro says Cuban model doesn’t work

HAVANA – Fidel Castro told a visiting American journalist that Cuba’s communist economic model doesn’t work, a rare comment on domestic affairs from a man who has conspicuously steered clear of local issues since stepping down four years ago.

The fact that things are not working efficiently on this cash-strapped Caribbean island is hardly news. Fidel’s brother Raul, the country’s president, has said the same thing repeatedly. But the blunt assessment by the father of Cuba’s 1959 revolution is sure to raise eyebrows.

This is a unbelievable article.  I have also included the pdf file that the article links to.

The UN is working toward exactly what has been prophesied in the Bible.  It is like the entire playbook in one article/document.  It will be amazing to see how much coverage this gets or how the UN spins it.

One of my favorite quotes, there are so many, is:

As one underlying theme of the sessions, the top U.N. bosses seemed to be grappling often with how to cope with the pesky issue of national sovereignty, which — according to the position papers, anyway — continued to thwart many of their most ambitious schemes, especially when it comes to many different kinds of “global governance.”

Not coincidentally, the conclave of bureaucrats also saw in “global governance” a greater role for themselves.

Can it be anymore plainly stated?  Global Governance once they figure how to break down that pesky national sovereignty issue…

Prophecy is in the process of being fulfilled….

Devotional: God Loves the Truth

Today’s devotional is from Max Lucado’s Grace for the Moment

God Loves the Truth

The Lord hates those who

tell lies but is pleased with those

who keep their promises.

Proverbs 12:22

Our Master has a strict honor code.  From Genesis to Revelation, the theme is the same:  God loves the truth and hates deceit.  In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Paul list the type of people who will not inherit the kingdom of God.  The covey he portrays is a ragged assortment of those who sin sexually, worship idols, take part in adultery, sell their bodies, get drunk, rob people, and–there it is–lie about others.

Such rigor may surprise you.  You mean my fibbing and flattering stir the same heavenly anger as adultery and aggravated assault? Apparently so….

Why the hard-line?  Why the tough stance?

For one reason: dishonesty is absolutely contrary to the character of God.

Just Like Jesus

I am always amazed in life when certain topics or points show up in different venues at the same time in my life.  I know it is God drilling a point home and making sure He gets through my think skull what He wants me to do.  This is one of those moments.  Where several messages on Truth and Lies has presented themselves to me in a matter of a few days.

I encourage you to watch the video on my front page, it is a strong message and the presenter comes across a bit egotistical at first but I do not believe he means to.  It is a tough message to deliver, one all of us desperately need to hear, and one few deliver these days.

Max’s words above deliver a much softer version of the same message.  God has high standards, and we need to repent of all our sins, even the little ones.  And to repent, doesn’t just mean to ask for forgiveness and say you will try to not do it again.  It is to work with God and Christ to transform your life by changing the way you live and what you model to others.  It is not about works, but about a sign of faith.  Do we have any signs that show others we are a Christian, and I don’t mean a tee-shirt.  We should not be of this world, but strangers to it as we transform through Christ Jesus and God’s Gift of Salvation.

May Peace be with You!

One World Religion…

The number of headlines recently around Interfaith has caught my attention.

World’s Greenest Priest Leads Global Prayer Against Climate Change

Interfaith Organisations Provided Funds To Strengthen Neighbourhoods

VIEW: Interfaith harmony for world peace —Mohammad Jamil

Faith leaders denounce anti-Muslim sentiment

It is not that any one of these in particular is going to lead to one world religion but the public appetite for unity and framing everything as interfaith is, I believe, a sign of an acceleration toward a point in time where it could be embraced rapidly, say once a large event of millions of those hard-core inflexible religious types disappearing occurs.

Also, the Green movement as a religion has always concerned me.  It seems like a topic that could be used as a rallying point, and concerns me if combined with religion.  Which is has in the first article above.  (Sidenote, I am not against being a “good steward” of our planet earth as God wants us to respect the land, but the Green movement has taken it to an idolatry state in most areas.)

Jordan has joined the ranks and has stepped up its involvement in the region.  Now they are joining with Syria in calling for Israel to give up the land it won, in the 6-day war in 1967.

This land is key from a military strategic value due to its elevation relative to Israel.  This is why Israel’s PM has been so strong about giving it up without security guarantees.

On a side note, how do you negotiate with, let alone trust, someone who won’t even acknowledge your existence as a country?

This common sense fact, is why I know we are seeing God harden hearts and maneuver countries & leaders to fulfill his plan.

The quake was caused by the continuing collision between the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates, said Prof Quigley. “One side of the earth has lurched… up to 11 feet,” he told New Zealand’s National Radio. “We saw two houses that were snapped in half.”

Ezekiel 38:13 – “Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?”

Just a reminder, of how easy we have it here in America as Christians.

Our brothers and sisters in other countries are feeling the heat turn up on the persecution, which will at some point reach even America as the Antichrist rises to power.

Luke 21:10-19 – Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom,  11and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.  12But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for My name’s sake. 13“It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony.  14“So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves;  15for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.  16But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death,  17and you will be hated by all because of My name. 18“Yet not a hair of your head will perish.  19“By your endurance you will gain your lives.” — (NASB)

Good news is Christ’s message continues to be strong, just as he predicted.

Iranian Christian Detained in Ahvaz

AHVAZ, IRAN (Worthy News)– Members of a home-based church in the city of Ahvaz are worried about one of their own who has not been heard from since his arrest, Worthy News has learned.

The 27 year-old Neshan Saeedi was arrested by plain-clothes security forces that entered his house on July 24.

The security officers searched his home and seized personal belongings: a computer, CDs of Christian seminars and teachings, Christian books, Bibles, and family photo albums.

Saeedi’s family was taken to Chaharshir detention center in Ahvaz for several hours of questioning and harsh interrogation. Security officers said they were apostates who were unworthy of raising their 6 year-old daughter, and if they continued their Christian activities, they might lose custody of her. They were also accused of anti-government (more…)

So does it feel to you like we are being nudged down a path of acceptance here?

First, Iran states, we are not enriching uranium.

Then, we have the right to peaceful nuclear power.

Then, we have the right to enrich our own uranium, for peaceful power generations.

Now, we have the right to enrich our own uranium without certain inspectors?

Overton Window?  Deception?

Isn’t Iran one of the largest oil producers?  Why do they need nuclear power?

Hmm….

“Strangely” familiar to earlier this year with Greece, the world dominos may be beginning to fall, where the US falls in the mix is unknown.  There are some theories…

But if it took the entire world to bail out Greece, what would it take for us?

Can you see the single world government and currency on the horizon?

Ireland insists not on same road as Greece…

…despite ballooning bank debt

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – Ireland’s finance minister, Brian Lenihan, in Brussels for discussions with the European Commission over the bail-out of nationalised Anglo Irish Bank, whose costs are ballooning, insisted the debt black hole at the heart of the company will not bankrupt the government.

The bank has recently announced that it will probably need some €25 billion in fresh capital, equivalent to a full 19 percent of the country’s GNP. Credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s has said that it believes this to be low-balling the true figure, estimating that the real cost could come to €35 billion.

The vast sums have frightened markets, which worry Dublin will have trouble paying its debt.

Further talk about a global currency and this time by the French President, who has gone as far as to make it their number one agenda item during their one year stint as head of the EU starting in November.

They would like it completed before the end of their term, November 2011.

Prophecy’s are lining up and coming into focus….

New Zealand earthquake rips a new fault line across the world

… moving one side of the earth 11ft to the right

The earthquake that devastated a city in New Zealand tore open a new 11ft faultine in the Earth’s surface.

The 7.1-magnitude quake which hit Christchurch, the country’s second-largest city, destroyed about 500 buildings and caused an estimated £930million of damage.

But hundreds of lives were saved by tough building rules, it was claimed. Only two injuries were reported.

Roger Bates, whose dairy farm at Darfield was close to the quake’s epicentre 19 miles west of Christchurch, said the new faultline had ripped up the surface across his land.‘The whole dairy farm is like the sea now, with real soil waves right across the dairy farm.

‘We don’t have physical holes (but) where the fault goes through it’s been raised a metre or metre and a half.’

For the second time in less than a week, earthquakes shake parts of Oklahoma, does that seem out-of-place?  They were small, but the earth has been very active in diverse places.

6 small earthquakes shake parts of Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – For the second time in less than a week, six small earthquakes have been recorded in a single day in central Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Geological Survey said the six earthquakes on Saturday ranged from preliminary magnitudes of 1.5 to 3.3.

On Wednesday in the same area about 30 miles from Oklahoma City, geologists also recorded six earthquakes that ranged from a preliminary 1.8 magnitude to 3.1. Another quake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.7 was recorded Friday about 10 miles east of the Saturday temblors.

No injuries or damage was reported from any of the earthquakes.

Quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3 are generally the smallest felt by people.

Great article on the Deception Satan uses to lead Christians & Non-believers astray.

Three main tactics he outlines.

Lust of the flesh

Lust for the yes

The pride of life

Example of Satan using all three from the very beginning:

Satan pulled that trick when he deceived Eve in the garden, and laid out his scheme for defeating mankind.  He told Eve, in words as smooth as butter on a hot biscuit, “Has God indeed said ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” [my italics] (Genesis 3:1b).   This subtle inquiry tells Eve that God was holding out on her ”right to know everything” .

But, no, God said they could eat of every tree except the one in the midst of the garden, lest you die, she responds.  The devil implies that God lied to her, that He is holding back vital information from her.  He says God knows, if she eats of that tree, her eyes will be opened and she will be like God, knowing good from evil.  She, now, has been set up, and she realizes that the fruit of the tree was “good for food’ (lust of the flesh), it was “pleasant to the eyes” (lust of the yes), and “it would make one wise” (the pride of life).    It is just as John described it in I John 2:16.

We must be watchful, and study God’s Word and Jesus’ warnings…

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the give of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

Things are going to get worst, what they are doing with the economy has never worked in history.

It will be interesting what will be the trigger.

World dropping the dollar, loosing our AAA rating, the rapture, or self-inflicted decline from politicians.

On a lighter note, which headline doesn’t seem to belong?

Oh right, another vacation, that’s helpful.
