The famous Indian medieval mausoleum Taj Mahal is under a threat of being flooded. The building stands on a bank of the Jamuna River, and the river’s water level is now steadily rising because of heavy rains.

Now only a brick ramp separates the historical monument from the water, but if there is more rain, the water may run over it.Taj Mahal is called “the world’s eights miracle” and is on the UNESCO’s World Heritage list.

Syrian drought ‘really bad’

More drought and crop/livestock concerns.  The article seems pretty tame till you get to the last line.

Good summary by Frank on tying several of the prophecy signs we have been seeing together….

Frank DiMora’s Post from Sept. 9th, 2010

I am posting today as I was lead by the Lord to give you this information however, I will be off line while I seek Christ for some answers. I will return as the Lord leads. Thank you all for your prayers.

Prophecy Sign: Revelation 16:8 “The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire.” Prophecy Sign:Revelation 7: 16 “Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.” Prophecy Sign: Revelation 6:6, “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” Prophecy Sign: Luke 21:25 is the sign of roaring seas and waves. Prophecy Sign: Mark 13:8 “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.”

In my posts I have warned you of what is to come based on what Jesus has showed us from His warnings. There is no question we are now witnessing every word Jesus spoke to us about the weird weather and the intense heat that would cause much concern for the nations.  Scripture as you can see is very specific about the details of what is going to take place just prior to Jesus Christ returning to Earth.  In my book I provide you with a host of reports proving Christ’s warnings are upon us, but this next report is one that I haven’t put in my book yet as it is new news. The title to this new report is, “A common link among fire, floods, food riots: extreme weather”

There are more unusual weather signs in the news.  Two of the articles below show extreme weather.  Los Angeles & Oceanside recorded record low levels while Kentucky has heat and moisture causing corn to pop in the fields.

More seriously still embedded in the corn popping story was the fact that Corn crops are down 20% this year.  There are also panics and riots beginning throughout the world due to actual food shortages and fears of what’s to come.

The east coast braces for what looks like a near miss for a category 3 or 4 hurricane, with evacuations beginning this afternoon.

Finally, we are seeing pestilence hit the US mainland with the spread and return of bed bugs.  It has been spreading up and down the east coast with the first stories coming out of New York a few weeks back.

God is trying to get our attention, we need to wake up and turn back to him.

Here are five headlines from today on crazy weather patterns occurring throughout the world. God predicted each of these in the Bible and that they would come to pass during the lead-up to the last days.

We have global food prices rising.  God predicted in Revelations 6:6 that we will have to work all day just for enough food to feed ourselves, not our family but just our self.

Revelation 6:6 – “And I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

We are a long way from that but prices on almost all essentials are going up.  In the end it will probably be a combination of increased prices and economic collapse.  But we need to be watchful, God is trying to get our attention to turn back to him.

Indonesian Volcano Erupts Again, Spews Hot Ash

TANAH KARO, Indonesia –  An Indonesian volcano dormant for four centuries erupted for the second straight day Monday, shooting clouds of hot ash more than a mile into the air and forcing 30,000 people to flee.

Some domestic airplanes had to be diverted because of poor visibility.

Many villagers living along the slopes of Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra province wore masks as they packed their belongings and headed to emergency shelters, mosques and churches, said Andi Arief, a presidential adviser on disasters.

Their abandoned homes and crops were blanketed in gray soot and the air was thick with the smell of sulfur.

While two people died — a 64-year-old woman from respiratory problems and a 52-year-old man from a heart attack — it was too early to say if the volcano was to blame, said Priyadi Kardono of the National Disaster Management Agency.

Sinabung last erupted in 1600, so observers don’t know its eruption pattern and admitted over the weekend they had not monitored it closely before it started rumbling days ago in the lead-up to Sunday’s first, less-powerful blast.

Hours later, the alert was raised to the highest level.

Volcano Quiet for 400 Years Erupts in Indonesia

AP

Aug. 29: Mount Sinabung emits volcanic smoke in Karo, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The volcano spewed hot lava and sand high into the sky early Sunday in its first eruption in 400 years causing thousands of people living around its slope to evacuate their homes.

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) — A volcano in western Indonesia spewed hot lava and sand high into the sky early Sunday in its first eruption in 400 years.

Government volcanologist Surono, who uses only one name, said Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra province started rumbling a few days ago and the minor morning eruption has mostly stopped.

It sent sand and ash up to a mile (1.5 kilometers) high but lava only moved near its crater. It caused no major damage and “only dust covered plants and trees,” he said.

He said Mount Sinabung last erupted in 1600, so observers don’t know the volcano’s eruption pattern and are monitoring it closely for more activity.

Evacuations on the volcano’s slopes started Friday at the first signs of activity. Up to 10,000 people who fled are staying in government buildings, houses of worship and other evacuation centers in two nearby towns.

The government has distributed 7,000 masks to refugees and set up public kitchens so people can cook food, said Priyadi Kardono, spokesman for the National Disaster Management Agency.

Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelago, is on the so-called “Ring of Fire,” an arc of volcanos and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin.

Cold empties Bolivian rivers of fish

Antarctic cold snap kills millions of aquatic animals in the Amazon.

Anna Petherick

dead fishThe San Julián fish farm in the Santa Cruz department of Bolivia lost 15 tonnes of pacú fish in the extreme cold.Never Tejerina

With high Andean peaks and a humid tropical forest, Bolivia is a country of ecological extremes. But during the Southern Hemisphere’s recent winter, unusually low temperatures in part of the country’s tropical region hit freshwater species hard, killing an estimated 6 million fish and thousands of alligators, turtles and river dolphins.

Scientists who have visited the affected rivers say the event is the biggest ecological disaster Bolivia has known, and, as an example of a sudden climatic change wreaking havoc on wildlife, it is unprecedented in recorded history.

“There’s just a huge number of dead fish,” says Michel Jégu, a researcher from the Institute for Developmental Research in Marseilles, France, who is currently working at the Noel Kempff Mercado Natural History Museum in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. “In the rivers near Santa Cruz there’s about 1,000 dead fish for every 100 metres of river.”

With such extreme climatic events potentially becoming more common due to climate change, scientists are hurrying to coordinate research into the impact, and how quickly the ecosystem is likely to recover.

The extraordinary quantity of decomposing fish flesh has polluted the waters of the Grande, Pirai and Ichilo rivers to the extent that local authorities have had to provide alternative sources of drinking water for towns along the rivers’ banks. Many fishermen have lost their main source of income, having been banned from removing any more fish from populations that will probably struggle to recover.

The blame lies, at least indirectly, with a mass of Antarctic air that settled over the Southern Cone of South America for most of July. The prolonged cold snap has also been linked to the deaths of at least 550 penguins along the coasts of Brazil and thousands of cattle in Paraguay and Brazil, as well as hundreds of people in the region.

Water temperatures in Bolivian rivers that normally register about 15 ˚C during the day fell to as low as 4 ˚C.

Volcano erupts in southwestern Colombia

BOGOTA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — Galeras Volcano, located in San Juan de Pasto, Narino department’s capital, in the southwest of Colombia, erupted on at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday local time (0900 GMT), without report of victims.

Assistant director of the Colombian Geology and Mining Institute (Ingeominas) Martha Calvache told local radio station Caracol, that the alert on the volcano were raised from orange to red, the highest level, which implies an “imminent or current eruption.” This made the authorities to order the evacuation of thousands of residents in nearby villages and town.

But “it has not been possible to analyze the material coming out from the volcano, which could be associated to ashes or probably to lava,” Calvache said.

Later, Ingominas said in a statement published on its website that “to the moment there were no reports of ashes fall in Sandona and La Florida municipalities located in the northwestern side of the volcano.”

UN Says 800,000 Cut Off by Pakistan Floods

ISLAMABAD– Floods have isolated about 800,000 people in Pakistan who are now only reachable by air and aid workers need at least 40 more helicopters to ferry lifesaving aid to the increasingly desperate people, the United Nations said.

The appeal Tuesday was an indication of the massive problems facing the relief effort in Pakistan more than three weeks after the floods hit the country, affecting more than 17 million people and raising concerns about possible social unrest and political instability.

“These unprecedented floods pose unprecedented logistical challenges, and this requires an extraordinary effort by the international community,” said John Holmes, U.N. under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs.

Earlier, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said hundreds of health facilities had been damaged and tens of thousands of medical workers displaced and the country’s chief meteorologist warned that it would be two weeks until the Indus River — the focus of the flooding still sweeping through the country — returns to normal levels.

Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry said high tides in the Arabian Sea would slow the drainage of the Indus into it, but that those tides would begin changing Wednesday. He said the Indus would reach peak flood stage late this week.

Putin’s Grain Ban Coexists With Buckwheat Panic

For the outside world, the main result of Russia’s extreme heat and drought, and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s subsequent ban on the export of grain, is sharply higher wheat prices.

For Russians, the problem is more personal: a buckwheat panic.

The price of buckwheat groats, relished in Russia as a hot breakfast cereal or a savory side dish, has spiked more than 70% this year, even as the regulated local bread price remained constant. Even worse, beloved buckwheat — as important as potatoes or onions to eastern Europe’s bland diet — has disappeared from Moscow shelves over the weekend at stores including several Auchan hypermarkets.

Auchan says it’s aware of the increased demand for buckwheat, noting that its suppliers have boosted prices 30% amid the poor harvest. The French retailer added that it’s committed to low prices, and stores probably won’t have new supplies from the Altai Mountains crop until late September.

Official Russian statistics quoted buckwheat at 43.42 rubles ($1.42) per kilogram on August 16, but our visits to central Moscow stores Monday showed prices of up to 68.75 rubles. Even at the official price, buckwheat is now dearer to Russians than sugar, milk, and pasta per kilogram, and it’s approaching the price of canned meat.

More Birth Pangs: Floods, Drought, and Pestilence

One of the clearest indications of the progression of Bible prophecy is the frequency of end-time events. In Matthew 24:8, we are told that the last days will be the tail-end of an exponential curve of activity. Jesus mentioned a great variety of signs—spiritual, natural, societal, and geopolitical—and then He said that these signs will be like “birth pangs.”

As the birth of a baby approaches, the birth pangs increase two ways: frequency and intensity. Thus, Jesus was saying that the closer we get to the time of His return, the more frequent and intense the signs will become. There will be more earthquakes and more intense ones. Likewise, things like famine, pestilence, and war will increase in frequency and intensity.

This year started out with monstrous earthquakes striking the nations of Haiti, Chile, and China. The death toll from the Haiti quake has now risen to more than 230,000. The Chile earthquake is in the record books as the seventh-greatest earthquake ever recorded.

In the past few weeks, there has been an upsurge in birth-pang activity. Three categories stand out:

Floods
Many have been struck by noteworthy flooding. In April, the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro had terrible flooding. But the most remarkable flooding has occurred in Pakistan, where the deluge has been of epic proportions: 20 million people have been affected, with more than 1,400 dead, 900,000 homes damaged, and 3.5 million children at risk for waterborne diseases. One-fifth of the nation is now under water, and the rains are continuing to fall.

Drought
A severe drought in Russia has devastated the nation’s wheat crop. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin banned all exports of grain until the end of the year. The ban has pushed prices to their highest level in two years in the United States. Russian grain exports totaled 21.4 million metric tons last year, about 17 percent of the global grain trade. The Middle East is heavily dependant on Russian grain. Egypt, the world’s largest wheat importer, is left to wonder whether current contracts with Russia will be honored. If we should have a drought in another country that is a key grain exporter, global famine could become a real possibility.

Pestilence
The World Health Organization called on health authorities around the globe to monitor a multi-drug-resistant superbug that surfaced in South Asia and spread to Britain. The WHO said a new gene enables some types of bacteria to be highly resistant to almost all antibiotics. With some bacterial strains, the death rate is as high as 30 percent.

In the U.S., there is a growing problem with bedbugs. The city of New York had 11,000 complaints about bedbugs last year. Bedbugs have been discovered recently in theaters, clothing stores, hotels, housing projects, and posh apartments. They have even been found in the Empire State Building.

This level of activity is amazing when you consider that the year is only a little more than half over. The Lord certainly seems to be trying to get man’s attention, but I can see that man’s stubbornness is a huge obstacle. It amazes me to see how quickly historic disasters fade from memory.

Several news organizations are reporting that support for the flood victims in Pakistan may be suffering from donor fatigue. In the first two weeks of the crisis, the funds being pledged by rich nations are just 20 percent of the amount given for the Haiti earthquake. In the same way, there may be a birth-pang of fatigue at work. I have not seen prophetic awareness this low since the early 1990s.

God is very patient, but He is no fool. He is not going to send an endless number of warning signs. I would never say that apathy will force God to act, but it could be the calling card that the Almighty has decided to use to shake up our world.

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth” (Luke 21:25-26).

Floods Surging Into Southern Pakistan Test City Defenses

SHADAD KOT, Pakistan –  SHADAD KOT, Pakistan (AP) — Emergency workers worked frantically Monday to shore up a system of levees protecting two southern Pakistani cities from floodwaters that have devastated wide swaths of the country, as a U.N. official warned that the crisis is “outrunning our relief efforts.”

The floods, which began nearly a month ago with hammering rains in the country’s northwest, have destroyed or damaged 1.2 million homes and affected 17.2 million people, U.N. spokesman Maurizio Giuliano said. About 1,500 people have died in the floods, most in first few days, though the scale of the crisis — with immense social dislocation and agricultural destruction — continues to grow.

“The floods are outrunning our relief efforts. We move faster and faster, but the finish line keeps moving further ahead,” Giuliano said. “This is turning out to be a marathon, not a sprint.”

While the floodwaters are slowly moving toward the Arabian Sea, where they can drain away, the rainfall has been so intense that enormous parts of the country remain submerged.

In Shadad Kot, in the southern province of Sindh, authorities are increasingly worried that even the 10 miles (18 kilometers) of new levees soldiers have built to protect the city, and Qambar city further to the south, may not hold back the massive floods.

BEIJING (Aug. 23) — Flooding has forced the evacuation of more than a quarter-million people in northern China along its border with North Korea, state media said Monday.

Heavy rains over the last several days caused the Yalu river, which marks the border, to breach its banks, although the water level had started to fall late Sunday, the official Xinhua News Agency state media said Monday.

It said four people died, including a couple in their 70s and a mother and son, after their homes in Dandong were swept away by flash floods. Xinhua said 253,500 residents have been evacuated after the Yalu rose to its highest level in a decade.

Rain batters China anew; 94,000 evacuated in flood

Aug 22, 7:57 AM (ET)

By ALEXA OLESEN

BEIJING (AP) – Flooding killed four people and forced the evacuation of 94,000 others in the northern Chinese port city of Dandong after heavy rains caused the Yalu river to breach its banks, state media said Sunday.

Rain continued to fall Sunday in the region, which borders North Korea, but the official Xinhua News Agency reported that water levels along the Yalu and its tributaries dropped below flood warning levels.

Xinhua said four people died, including a couple in their 70s and a mother and son, after their homes were swept away by flash floods.

An official with the Water Resources Department in Liaoning province, where Dandong is located, confirmed that four people had died though he was unable to provide details. He refused to give his name because he was not authorized to speak with the media.

On Saturday, floodwaters punctured a dike between the river and an economic development zone in Dandong, inundating many neighborhoods.

Sat Aug 21, 7:44 am ET

BEIJING – Swelled by torrential rains, the Yalu river that marks the Chinese-North Korean border breached its banks on both sides Saturday, inundating communities and forcing the evacuation of more than 50,000 people in China.

Flood waters punctured a dike between the river and an economic development zone in a low-lying part of the Chinese port city of Dandong, Chinese state media reported. The rain and flooding cut rail service out of the city, destroyed more than 200 houses and left at least three people missing, in addition to the 51,000 evacuated to higher ground, local officials said.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency said that about a foot (30 centimeters) of rain had fallen since midnight and the Yalu — or Amnok as its known in Korean — swamped houses, public buildings and farmland in more than five villages near Sinuiju, the city opposite Dandong.

The brief report described Sinuiju and the surrounding area as having been “severely affected” by the flooding and said officials, the military and ordinary civilians were involved in rescue work.

Pakistan’s worst floods in living memory have killed more than 1,600 people and affected up to 20 million – more than a tenth of the population. The United Nations estimates at least 8 million people need urgent assistance, but funding has been slow to arrive compared to other major disasters.

Loss of 25 percent of Russian wheat crop worries international grain markets

By Miriam Elder

MOSCOW, Russia — The deadly forest fires ravaging the Russian countryside have wiped out a quarter of Russia’s grain crop, prompting the country to ban all wheat exports as of Sunday and inflaming worries of a global food crisis.

A similar food crisis in 2007-08 provoked riots around the developing world, from Bangladesh to Yemen and from Haiti to the Ivory Coast. Is the world in store for a similar fate this year? Not necessarily, analysts say.

This time around, global reserve stocks are stuffed, and healthy grain crops in countries like the U.S. and Argentina are expected to mitigate Russian shortfalls. This year, a crisis will likely be avoided, analysts say.

Yet with Russia already making predictions that its fall and winter planting will likely be disrupted, bigger problems could lie ahead. And analysts warn that a heavy reliance on this year’s record U.S.
crop means that if the weather stateside changes, all predictions would go out the window.

Found this post on Frank DiMora’s site today, it is one of the two articles I posted yesterday but with some good commentary and a couple of short videos.

Prophecy Sign: Revelation 6:6 “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”  Last week I showed you that the prices of wheat has increased 40-50%. Check out my post dated Aug. 6, 2010.  Now I want to show you what they are saying about barley.

“The price of barley, an important feed grain for the European livestock industry, has more than doubled in six weeks in response to the drought affecting Russia and Ukraine, prompting fears of increases in the cost of meat and poultry. –Barley production is also down in the European Union and Canada – two other large exporters – due to bad weather.”

I hope you are getting picture? Everything Jesus has warned us is come to pass right before our eyes.

As this unfolds it looks worst than initially reported, this too is part of prophecy birth pains.

Prophecy Sign: Luke 21:25 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Read this news and watch the video   because a large portion of a nation has been wiped out.  “Twenty million people are homeless after Pakistan’s worst flooding in decades, the country’s prime minister has revealed.”  “The disaster has also battered Pakistan’s economy and undermined its political stability at a time when America needs its steadfast cooperation against Islamist extremism.  “The UN has appealed for an initial £295m to provide aid but said billions will be needed to rebuild once the flooding recedes.”  These people have not homes, the lack drinking water and food and this past storm has caused, starvation and disease. Luke 21:25 is a prime example of what the Lord was pointing to in these last days.

Prophecy Sign: Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  Not only are we witnessing complex problems from the floods but the disease Jesus said would be a sign has also become a complex problem for million in Pakistan.

“As the floods wash away his livelihood, a landowner launches his own relief convoy”   Hamir Soomro points to vast stretches of water: “That’s where my land used to be,” he says. For as far as the eye travels, there is little sight of the soil his family has cultivated for decades. Only the very tips of the rice stalks can be seen. In the distance, there are the remains of crumbling brick houses, abandoned when the waters crept in a fortnight ago.

Here are some signs beginning to come true, due to the weather events, wheat prices are up nearly 70% since June.  There is also a drought impacting Russia and many other areas of Asia and Africa.  The worst in 130 years in Russia.  There is a lot more information in the full article on the potential impact.

We know that in the end times, it will take a day’s labor to buy a day’s worth of food.  It could be brought about either by hyper inflation or food shortages, or a combination.  We are nowhere near that now, but these are birth pains that Jesus mentioned and will continue to progress.

Rev. 6:6 – “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

The two articles below site both Wheat and Barley prices rising by 70% and 100%, respectively.

* Price rise comes on top of impact of financial crisis

* Discontent could fuel street unrest

* Middle East, North Africa, Europe seen most at risk

* Much depends on how long price rally lasts

By Peter Apps, Political Risk Correspondent

LONDON, Aug 11 (Reuters) – Rising grain prices from Russia’s drought and fires will pressure populations already hit by the financial crisis and could stoke unrest — particularly in the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe. Wheat prices have risen by nearly 70 percent since June after Russia suffered its worst drought in 130 years and are at their highest since 2008, when the last major food price rally sparked protests and riots in a string of emerging nations.

I found both of these articles on Rapture Ready.  I have included the link to the full article and their commentary as well.

Wheat prices have risen by nearly 70 percent since June after Russia suffered its worst drought in 130 years and are at their highest since 2008, when the last major food price rally sparked protests and riots in a string of emerging nations. What could that be?  A solar storm or a EMP blast from a nuclear weapon would cause major damage to the power grid and anything that has a chip.  Think about everything we use electricity for or that is powered by electronics.  Think about how long you could go without it.  We could be without electricity for 4-10 years.

Take a look at the article, it has a lot of good information and links for how to prepare.  It is interesting some of the effects of the solar storm seem very Biblical in the results, just more to ponder while we prepare.

The first sentence of this article, struck me of something straight out of the Bible.  “Fire, floods, locusts, and droughts – a combination of crises that could mean higher food prices…”

Wow, just think about that for a moment.

These are the birth pains and will only get worst.  It is leading us to the point of famines and economic conditions where you will work and entire day just for enough food for yourself.  It could be through hyper-inflation or through food shortages, both lead to the same result.

Disasters could push up world food prices

  Posted on » Friday, August 13, 2010

WASHINGTON: Fires, floods, locusts and droughts – a combination of crises that could mean higher food prices around the world over the next 12 months. The US agriculture department will released a report today assessing world grain supplies.

Many analysts expect it will forecast a two-year low for wheat inventories – an estimate that would likely send wheat prices, which have climbed steadily all summer, moving even higher.

Russia, the world’s third-largest wheat exporter, imposed a four-month ban on grain exports last week because of drought. The decision will pull millions of tonnes of wheat out of world markets.

The World Bank has urged other nations not to follow suit, fearing a supply crunch like the one that drove 2008 prices to twice their current levels and prompted food riots in Africa and Asia.

Severe winter frosts and a summer drought have damaged the crop in Ukraine, the world’s sixth-largest exporter, and Kiev is expected to impose its own export ban later this month.

More articles on extreme weather…

I was shocked to see this article look at the two main arguments for why this is happening.  Global Warming (‘green religion’) and Bible Prophecy (yes the author actually quotes scripture and discusses end times).

Extreme weather and natural disasters occurring simultaneously around the globe

I borrowed that title from one of the articles below, I thought it was very fitting.  Here are even more crazy weather events that are going on at the same time.  All of these taking one at a time might not seem like anything out of the ordinary, but if you look at all that is going on at the same time and include the earthquakes, it is quite the sign and a spike of birth pains.  We are very close.

These are joyous signs for christians, because it means Christ will return for us soon and take us to a better place he has prepared for us.  It is also a warning and reminder to stay watchful, and diligently do his will.  Wake up your family members and friends that have not turned to God or may have fallen off the path due to worldly distractions.

First up, fires in Russia have doubled the mortality rate and breathing there is like smoking 2 packs a day, ouch!  It also starts to sting the eyes and back of the throat after about 10 minutes of exposure.

Moscow smog: streets look ‘apocalyptic’

Second, we have more flooding in Niger that is destroying homes and crops.  The amazing part is that the region has been struggling with drought and loss of crops and now has to deal with flooding.

Niger River floods destroying homes and crops

Third, is an article that shows a wide range of weather events that are occurring or have occurred within 2010.  It discusses how unusual it is to see all these events within a single year, or really, only seven months.

2010 the year the weather went berserk…

Extreme Weather events…

Here are several articles that show extreme weather events that are occuring through out the world.  Again, these are part of the birth pains that are meant to wake us up to turn back to God.  These will continue to get more and more severe until the final seven year tribulation.  The Good News is Jesus promises to save His followers prior to the worst with the rapture, where He will call us up to be with Him in heaven.

Muscovites Flee Worst Heat ‘in 1,000 Years’ from Bloomberg

(by Denis Maternovsky and Maria Levitov)

Aug 9, 2010 9:47 AM CT

Muscovites fled the Russian capital in record numbers as extreme heat combined with acrid smoke from wildfires, slowing trading on the city’s main stock exchange and emptying restaurants.

More than 104,400 people flew out of Moscow yesterday, topping the previous 2010 record of 101,000, according to the Federal Air Transportation Agency. On Aug. 7, 95,000 left the city by plane, 20 percent more than the year-earlier date, agency spokesman Sergei Izvolsky said by telephone today.

Moscow set a daily heat record of 35.5 degrees Celsius (95.5 degrees Fahrenheit) today, the seventh such record this month and the 19th of the summer, said Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a spokeswoman for the city’s weather service. The city reached 38.2 degrees Celsius, the highest ever, on July 29.

The heat wave, smoke from forest fires across central Russia and the Volga River region, and the country’s worst drought in half a century have combined to hobble agriculture and slow the services industry and manufacturing. Financial companies are now affected.

More than 700 people are now known to have died in a massive landslide in north-west China – making it one of the deadliest incidents so far in the country’s worst flooding in a decade.

A frantic search is continuing for the more than 1,000 people still missing

The United Nations said Monday that massive floods in Pakistan had affected 13.8 million people and eclipsed the scale of the devastating 2004 tsunami, as anger mounted among survivors. The Pakistani government and UN officials have appealed for more urgent relief efforts to cope with the country’s worst ever floods, with President Asif Ali Zardari due to return home after a heavily criticised European tour.

The entire northwestern Swat valley, where Pakistan fought a major campaign to flush out Taliban insurgents last year, was cut off at the weekend as were parts of the country’s breadbasket in Punjab and Sindh.

“This disaster is worse than the tsunami, the 2005 Pakistan earthquake and the Haiti earthquake,” Maurizio Giuliano, a spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), told AFP.

He said the 13.8 million affected outstripped the more than three million hit by the 2005 earthquake, five million in the 2004 tsunami and the three million affected by the Haiti earthquake in January this year.
