I have a hypothesis that after the church is removed with the rapture, that Islam will fill the void and be used by the Antichrist to control/dominate the world. These two stories probably seem unrelated but they both caught my eye (while looking through the third lens of scripture).
The first is about the Saudis building a giant clock over looking Mecca that they hope will replace Greenwich time as the standard for the world. It will be put into service on August 12th during the first week of their holy month of Ramadan. I thought wow, that is bold. How long have we been on Greenwich time as a standard?
Second, I saw an article about Obama sending Ramadan wishes to americans and Islam nations abroad. This took me back as well, he wouldn’t publicly observe our official day of prayer but takes time for Ramadan. And it’s not just the statement, both he and Hilary are hosting Iftar meals that signify the end to the fasting. See the quotes below:

Does this sound like America? We are a christian nation. We were built on christian morals and principles, not Islam. We are a nation where you are free to practice any religion you choose. That right is because we are a christian nation, and would not be allowed if we were an Islamic nation. If you haven’t had a chance watch this video:

The Case for Integrity and Continuity in Jewish Feast Fulfillments

The seven Jewish feasts that were ordained by God and given to Moses in Leviticus 23 have an order to them, a flow of continuity in a chronological manner. This is the pattern evidenced in the fulfillments of the first four feasts. Order and consistency has been the hallmark of God’s plan for the ages, not a haphazard, after-thought and mish-mash of events. He is sovereign; He knows the beginning from the end and orderliness is characteristic of His plans.
For review, the seven feasts are: Feast of Passover; Feast of Unleavened Bread; Feast of First Fruits; Feast of Weeks (Pentecost); Feast of Trumpets; Feast of Atonement; and Feast of Tabernacles.
Passover, however, was introduced at the time of the Exodus and later combined with the other six feasts. The seven feasts appear to highlight the redemptive ministry of Jesus Christ in the world, from the cross to His second coming. Colossians 2:16-17 tells us that the feasts are shadows of things to come, but “the body is of Christ”. So the feasts are commemorations of future events to be fulfilled, and we can readily see that in the fulfillments of the first four. And, as well, it identifies them with the person and ministry of Christ; they are not unrelated or isolated occasions of religious practice.
Christ was the Passover lamb, was buried (pictured by the nature of unleavened bread), and rose again the third day as the first fruits of the resurrection. Fifty days later, at Pentecost, the Hold Spirit came upon the little band of believers, indwelling them, just as Jesus had promised the disciples in John 14:17, “He dwells with you and will be in you”.
My argument is that there is one fulfillment for each feast, and they come about in the order they were given. For example, the next feast to be fulfilled in order is the Feast of Trumpets and it’s certainly no accident that the descriptive details of that festive activity are highlighted in Paul’s description of the rapture in I Thessalonians 4:16-17. The parallel is too apparent to conclude otherwise.
This next feast has been ignored or given little significance in the plan of God, or plugged in at the time of the Second Coming of Christ all too often. I suspect that the reluctance to give it a proper position in the scheme of end-time events has a lot to do with a fear of being labeled a “date-setter” because it pinpoints the rapture to a certain time-frame. And that is a valid concern, but certainly no excuse for avoiding a straight-forward consideration of the teaching of scripture. Jesus did tell us to “watch, for you know not what hour your Lord comes”, and we are certainly pressing toward that hour.
If one is ready for Jesus to come, it will not matter a lot if he does not know the day or the hour. I suppose Enoch, who “walked with God, and he was not, for God took him” (Genesis 5:24) was not aware of what God was about to do, but he was totally engrossed in who he was with. That is our challenge today.
I have thought some on the way a shadow performs in the sunlight. Our bodies cast a shadow as the sun shines on us, and as the day progresses the shadow becomes shorter and shorter, until a high noon, we are standing on top of our shadow. In a sense we have fulfilled the pronouncement of our shadow. The Colossians 2:16-17 identity of the feasts as shadows of the Christ who is to come, or the things having to do with Him, works out the same way. One day soon the fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets will turn its shadow into reality.
The issue of “the day and the hour” is no simple calculation. We have established time zones and an international date line that puts some locations in a different day than others. We have daylight saving time to further confuse the issue. And, more confusing is this—my daughter lives in the Denver, Colorado, area, and I am in southern Idaho. Both are in the Mountain Time Zone, yet we were talking on the phone once and she remarked that it was dark there, while I noted that we still had sunlight in Idaho. Over the time zones to Israel, the time here in Idaho would be nine hours later(I think). Only God can figure this out, so I choose to let Him do it!
The last two feasts portray the fulfillment of two final events in Jesus’ redemptive ministry, that of the Jews’ acceptance of Jesus as their true Messiah and true atonement (the Feast of Atonement) part-way into the “time of Jacob’s trouble”, the seven-year tribulation period. And, finally, the Feast of Tabernacles, which pictures the Lord coming to dwell with His people, which He will do at His second coming to the earth.

Is this finally the economic collapse?

FORTUNE — The Great Depression. Wall Street in 1987. Japan in 1997. Points of economic collapse are generally crystal clear in the rear-view mirror. Professional politicians in Japan have been telling stories for 20 years as to why they can prevent economic stagnation. In the US, the storytelling started in 2007. All the while, stock market and real-estate prices have repeatedly rallied to lower-highs, then collapsed again, to lower-lows.
Despite the many differences between Japan and the US, there is one similarity that continues to matter most in the risk management model my colleagues and I use at Hedgeye, our research firm — debt as a percentage of GDP. Now that the US can’t cut interest rates any lower, the only option left on the table is what the Fed just announced it would start doing — buying Treasury debt. And that could lead the country to the brink of collapse: According to economists Carmen Reinhart & Ken Rogoff, whose views we share, crossing the 90% debt/GDP threshold is the equivalent of crossing the proverbial Rubicon of economic growth. It’s a point from which it’s almost impossible to return.
Slowing growth, both domestically and in China, is core to our bearish views on both the strength of the US dollar and US equities. There will be a downward bias to our US growth estimates as long as debt-financed-deficit-spending continues to be the solution politicians and central bankers turn to as a fix to our financial crisis.
Markets trade on expectations. Yesterday’s zig-zag in the S&P 500 was unlike most sleepy August trading days in America. That’s because the ‘government is good’ crowd leaked word that this second round of “quantitative easing,” known as QE2, was coming, and that Ben Bernanke was going to respond to our buy-and-hope begging. (The first round of quantitative easing was the Fed’s unprecedented purchase of agency debt to prop up the housing market, along with credit facilities for big banks, which began in 2008 and ended earlier this year.)
To think that we have institutionalized market expectations to this degree is downright frightening. It seems impossible but true that all rallies start and end with rumors about what Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, a humble looking man of government, had to say at 2:15 PM EST yesterday afternoon, or any other day he makes a statement.
So now what?
With 40.8 million Americans on food stamps (record high) and 45% of the unemployed having been seeking employment for 27 weeks or more (record high), what’s left if (or when) QE2 doesn’t kick start GDP growth? Should we start begging for QE3? Should we cancel the bomb of the National Association of Realtors’ existing home sales report, scheduled for public release on August 24th? Or should we bite the bullet and accept that current economic policy dictates 0% returns-on-savings, even as Washington continues to lever-up our future to the point of economic collapse?
Before the Fiat Fools — Hedgeye’s name for political actors and bankers who have placed their hopes of economic recovery in printing endless supplies of new cash — run out campaigning for QE3, maybe they should analyze some real time market results to yesterday’s announcement of QE2:
1)The US dollar is battling for resuscitation after 9 consecutive down weeks — down 9% since June.
2) US Treasury yields are making record lows on the short end of the curve, with 2-year yields striking 0.49%.
3) The yield spread (in this case the difference in return between 10-year and 2-year Treasury bills, which shows a long-term confidence when high) continues to collapse, down another 4 basis point day-over-day to 223 basis points.
4) The S&P 500 is down below its 200-day moving average (a common signpost for the health of a market or stock) of 1115.
5) US Volatility (VIX) is spiking from its recent stability.
6) In Japan, long time quantitative easing specialists found their markets closing down overnight by 2.7%, which makes them down 11.9% for the year to date.
Lest our doom and gloom seem built entirely on technical measurements, what they boil down to is actually quite simple — an idea about our country which dates back to 1835. Alexis De Tocqueville, author of Democracy in America, which was published that year, seemed to warn of this day when he wrote: “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”

Why God loves us is a mystery… one we will never solve. The good news is that we don’t have to understand why; He just does! The Bible says that God’s love is a gift… pure and simple. It’s not something we have earned. We haven’t charmed our way into God’s heart. We haven’t impressed Him with our selfless acts or great charitable contributions. God loves us because He chooses to.
So why do we struggle so hard to receive it and why do so many people pass through this life without ever feeling the warmth of God’s loving smile? Perhaps it’s because we are so busy working to make ourselves worthy of His love that we somehow miss the simple truth of it.
You will never be good enough, cute enough, bright enough, accomplished enough, or rich enough to earn God’s love. Nor will you ever be able to understand it. But receiving it is easy. All you have to do is reach out and take it.
Open the door to your heart today. Look up into God’s loving face and smile at this blessing. Then close your eyes and imagine Him smiling back at you. God loves you!

Maybe I should have used the word timeless, instead of timely? In these challenging times, I think it is so important to remember God Love’s us, and once we accept that, we can reflect it back to others as we go about our daily tasks.
We work so hard to earn this and earn that. Remember the timeless adage: “You don’t get something for nothing.” or the simplified version “Nothing in life is free.” Well that is true, nothing on earth is free, but God’s love from heaven is free, all we have to do is accept it, just like our salvation.
One of my favorite scripture verses is Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”
So I guess another adage is correct as well: “The best things in life are free.” God’s love and salvation!
Take a moment to think about that. Is there no simpler way of showing God’s love and doing His will than simply smiling?

Pestilence, it not a common everyday word but one God uses in his warning of the last days. Pestilence basically symbolizes plagues or other contagious diseases. We have seen a lot of these pop up over the last few years. They are a sign of the birth pains leading up to the Tribulation where they will play a major role in God’s wake up calls and wrath.
The most recent was H1N1, we have also seen signs of older plagues making a comeback, with the bubonic plague in South America. Now this article is nowhere near plague status but these super bugs (bacteria that are antibiotic resistant) seem to be popping up in various places with the threat of spreading.
Keep your eye out, and look at them through the third lens of scripture. They are yet another sign that we are living in the last days.

I mentioned this in a post I made yesterday on something that is foreshadowing a Revelations prophecy of one of the seven seals, with the extreme difference in wages between elite and common man. This really relates to two areas, the collapse of our economy, leading to one world currency and government and the extreme out of balance that will exist during the final days.
I marvel at how anyone can think this is sustainable. The Federal employees salaries are all paid for by the private sector, and yet we have them making on average double. That means it takes many, many more people working to support the bureaucracy.
We hear that people today lack common sense, but I suggest that we all still have it, we are just to busy running to and fro to stop, listen, and think about any topic.
To quote the article (the last line): “Federal compensation has grown 36.9% since 2000 after adjusting for inflation, compared with 8.8% for private workers.”
That is insane!

The two articles linked below show a glimpse of what is transpiring behind the scenes in the middle east. It also shows how far Turkey has moved away from the western culture to ally with Iran, Syria, and Hizbullah.
On the one hand you have Palestinian indirect talks with Israel, mediated by the US. They continue to drag their feed asking for preconditions and refusing to talk with Israel face to face. The most recent demand is that Israel give him the land it gained post 1967. This would leave Israel even more vulnerable to attack from its enemies that surround them.
The second article, shows how weapons and arms are flowing into countries bordering Israel. This is not the first article, there have been many over the last several years as Israel’s enemy’s arm themselves. The question is for what? Why are all of these flowing into the area? Israel has not been the aggressor, they do not seek to invade the surrounding countries. Their only military actions are purely defensive.
The truth is that this is all building up for the coming wars that have been prophesied in the Bible, the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38. It is all so prophesied in Isaiah 17:1 that Damascus will be wiped out, and become uninhabitable. Currently, Damascus is one of the oldest cities and has always had some nation living there since Isaiah’s time, so this prophecy is definitely yet to be fulfilled.
Keep an eye on the headlines through the third lens of scripture and you will see amazing things. But fear not, for God will protect us and has warned us of what is to come.

When I saw this article on drudge this morning, it struck me that this is foreshadowing of what the Tribulation will be like for those that do not turn to God to be saved from it in the rapture. Tens of thousands of fish washing up dead on the beaches.
In Revelations 8:8-9 – “The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.”
This is the Second Trumpet of the Revelations judgements that will occur during the seven-year tribulation period. The seven trumpet judgements are between the seven seals and the seven bowls. We also saw pictures of what it might like to see the sea turn the color of blood during the BP oil spill. It was amazing to watch as all you could see was this reddish brown color instead of the normal clear blue.
I believe, no matter what caused it, that these are birth pain signs from God to help wake us up and have us turn back to him before the rapture, my blessed hope!

There are dozens of headlines now showing up. The media and the world is waking up to the reality that is coming our way from the poor decisions we have made over the last ten plus years. Unfortunately most of them are the foreign media outlets. I have chosen two of them to highlight today.
The Dollar is on its way down, I have heard predictions from end of the year to sometime in 2011 for the full crash. Predictions are difficult but you need to prepare for the depression that we are waking up to as a nation. Times will be tough here in the US but also you will see a ripple effect around the world, as the second article speaks to.
One of those golden truths, “you can’t see the forest for the trees”, I believe applies here. The rest of the world sees what we are doing and they are getting out first, not wanting to go down with the ship. Those that are awake, are starting to read and watch foreign media sources because they show much more of the truth. I saw an article on that yesterday. It is time we wake up, and wake up our neighbors and extended family.
All of these events are foreshadowing the coming collapse that will lead us to One World Currency and One World Government. It has been prophesied in the Bible. So turn to God for guidance, wisdom, and discernment. He is trying to get our attention with all of this and wants us to turn back to him so that we will be saved.

The True Son of God
His followers went to him and
woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We will drown!

Read this verse: “Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God'” (Matthew 14:33 NIV).
After the storm, [the disciples] worshiped him. They had never, as a group, done that before. Never. Check it out. Open your Bible. Search for a time when the disciples corporately praised him.
You won’t find it.
You won’t find them worshiping when he heals the leper. Forgives the adulteress. Preaches to the masses. They were willing to follow. Willing to leave family. Willing to cast out demons. Willing to be in the army.
But only after the incident on the sea did they worship him. Why?
Simple. This time they were the ones who were saved.

This was something I had never picked up on. All the times I had read those verses, I never realized that it was a first.
I think it really drives home that the disciples were human just like us. Aren’t their actions so true, I have a dozen of examples in my life where I acted the same way.
Until it impacts us directly, we can be disconnected from it all. But as soon as it becomes personal, then it really hits home. I think this is one of the reasons why God wants us to have a personal relationship with us. Once it becomes personal, we really have both feet in his camp, we are “all in”.
Think about that as you go about your day, are you “all in” for God?!

One of the end times prophecy signs is that Israel will become a burdensome stone to the entire world. All countries will turn against her and God promises all countries that do not support Israel will be judged. This is also shown in the lead up to the Ezekiel 38 war.
The article talks about how anti-Semitism is worst today than it was in 1910, leading up to World War I. Who would have imagined that the US would grow cold to Israel, but that is happening with the current administration. On so many fronts we have not stood with Israel as we have since Israel was reformed in the 1940’s. For a lot of prophecy scholars, this was one of the two major hurdles that kept them from seeing how far into the end times we had progressed. Turkey was the other.
As christians, we need to make sure we stand with and support Israel. They are God’s chosen people, and God promises to bless those that stand with them.

I borrowed that title from one of the articles below, I thought it was very fitting. Here are even more crazy weather events that are going on at the same time. All of these taking one at a time might not seem like anything out of the ordinary, but if you look at all that is going on at the same time and include the earthquakes, it is quite the sign and a spike of birth pains. We are very close.
These are joyous signs for christians, because it means Christ will return for us soon and take us to a better place he has prepared for us. It is also a warning and reminder to stay watchful, and diligently do his will. Wake up your family members and friends that have not turned to God or may have fallen off the path due to worldly distractions.
First up, fires in Russia have doubled the mortality rate and breathing there is like smoking 2 packs a day, ouch! It also starts to sting the eyes and back of the throat after about 10 minutes of exposure.

Second, we have more flooding in Niger that is destroying homes and crops. The amazing part is that the region has been struggling with drought and loss of crops and now has to deal with flooding.

Third, is an article that shows a wide range of weather events that are occurring or have occurred within 2010. It discusses how unusual it is to see all these events within a single year, or really, only seven months.

There are several articles linked below that cover a decision the Federal Reserve made yesterday and the fall out from it. The Fed is looking to spur growth by buying government debt. This is also called “monetizing” our debt, which is basicly the right hand buying from the left hand. The Fed prints the money to buy our own governments debt and then charges us interest on it. Not a good situation to be in.
You may ask, “how did we get to this point?”, well it is pretty simple, we spent more than we had available and have promised more than we could possible deliver on.
I think the following four articles do a good job running down the implications of our situation. We are bankrupt.
How does this tie into prophecy? I will lead to our the colapse of our country and probably the world economy, which will allow for the rise of One World Government and One World Currency. At a minimum, I think the life of the US dollar is very short. The key is we need to prepare, get out of debt, diversify our investments, and stockpile some food and durable goods.

This is an amazing picture of what the Jewish Temple may look like when complete, it will be very impressive when it is complete. There has been a lot of talk within the Israeli press about the Third Temple and wanting to rebuild it. Frank has some good analysis below of what prophecy says about it and I agree it may be in the not so distant future.

In my book I outline the events leading to the rebuilding of the Third Jewish Temple. Each year we are getting closer and closer to witnessing this Temple being rebuilt. There was more news about the Temple, and I promise you this, the Temple Jesus told us would be rebuilt is almost here!
We know for sure the third Temple will be built in the very near future just as the prophecies show us. At the current time this Temple Mount is causing havoc between the Arabs in the Israelis. Today there was more news about the third Temple in the news report entitled, “Security Fears: Police Cancel Upcoming Temple Mount Activities”
“In light of security assessments in Jerusalem and the rioting of the past few days there, police have canceled the monthly Temple Mount Gates march, scheduled for this Monday night. Last month’s event, called Sivuv She’arim (Circling the Gates), was held with the participation of 4,000 people who wished to show their solidarity with the Holy Temple in this manner. Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute bemoaned the cancellation and what it signifies. His remarks are brought below. Police are concerned that the dedication events of this week for the newly-rebuilt Hurva Synagogue in the Old City will spark Arab violence. The centuries-old Hurva was bombed and destroyed by the Jordanians in the 1948 War of Independence; refurbishing work has been ongoing for several years, and was completed this month.” “This event gives expression to the Nation of Israel’s deep bonds with the Temple Mount,” the organizers say, “and to our anticipation and longing for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple.”
Were are seeing a lot of news showing us that the Israelis want to build this third Temple. The way things are going I believe in the not to distant future you’re going to see news that the Antichrist is allowing the Jewish nation to rebuild their third Temple in fulfillment of what was prophecified. Notice I said you will see the Antichrist giving the ok to the rebuilding of the Temple. The Christians will be in heaven with Jesus before this happens.

Prophecy sign: What is one of the keys to knowing when Jesus is going to return to for His Church? Anyone who doesn’t know Jesus as Lord yet better read His words found in Matthew. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”
There is no question this present generation has become just like the one during Noah’s time. Noah watch his society grumble and turn away from God until the flood came and took them all away. The people warning what Jesus said about our generation are also watch our society grumble and move away from God and Christ.
“The Department of Health and Human Services has released two sex-education funding grants under the new healthcare law, one of which calls to indoctrinate school children in the homosexual lifestyle. The measure will allocate $55 million to fund the Personal Responsibility Education Program and $50 million to abstinence-only programs. The responsibility of the former is to provide comprehensive sex education, which is to include curriculum based on “the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth on how their programs will be inclusive of and non-stigmatizing toward such participants.”

I was shocked by this article. I know it is coming and this is going to become more common. We all need to be aware of that, Jesus said it would be so. We have to remember, once we are saved, we are no longer part of this world as children of God. In the US it is buttons and a loss job, in Afghanistan and China it is your life or prison…

Home Depot, which is currently targeted by a national American Family Association boycott, seems to have a problem with its dress code.
Home Depot fired Christian employee Trevor Keezor who wore a button reading “One Nation Under God” to support his country and his 27-year-old brother who is serving in the military in Iraq. AFA spokesman Randy Sharp offers this observation:
“If you’re a Christian or a patriot and you want to wear a patriotic button, that violates the corporate policy — but if you’re a homosexual and you want to wear an apron with pro-gay buttons and homosexual messages, and wear them in pride parades and gay and lesbian film festivals, those are approved by the Home Depot,” he states.
That, says Sharp, is nothing short of viewpoint discrimination.
In that light, the AFA spokesman explains his organization’s announced boycott of the home improvement retailer.
“We’re asking people to boycott Home Depot, [first] because they have an unfair policy,” he says. “But [secondly] because they support homosexuality on ‘Main Street America.’ They support the homosexual agenda and the promotion of this dangerous and unhealthy lifestyle.”
AFA is asking Home Depot to simply be neutral in the culture war. Sharp also reminds people that if they make a purchase at Home Depot, a part of that profit goes to promote homosexuality.

In my mind this is an example of the deception we are seeing today. Unfortunately, this has become all to common these days, where people say one thing and then do another behind close doors.

An organization that advocates for immigration reduction says a recently revealed memo confirms President Barack Obama’s plan to use his presidential authority to circumvent Congress and give de facto amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S.
As reported on OneNewsNow, a group of U.S. senators led by Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) have sent letters to the administration asking for answers about a plan that would allow Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to provide an amnesty to illegal aliens if the administration cannot secure enough votes for a bill in the Senate. Now a Justice Department memo leaked to Grassley outlines the strategy that can be used to grant de facto amnesty to illegal aliens by effectively lessening the standards used in determining “extreme hardship” cases. Under certain circumstances, illegal aliens can remain in the country under laws already on the books.
Rosemary Jenks, director of government relations at Numbers USA, says the memo reveals how the Obama administration intends to grant blanket amnesty to certain groups.
“They talk about categories like all of the illegal aliens who would be eligible for the DREAM Act, if [that legislation] were to pass,” she offers as an example. “Well, of course the DREAM Act was voted on in the Senate and it failed — and yet here they are talking about how to keep these illegal aliens here anyway.”
There is more, says Jenks. “They’re also talking about how to give amnesty to illegal aliens who have lived here in the United States for a long time,” she explains, “apparently the theory being that the longer you can successfully violate our law, the bigger the reward.”
Jenks says all this could be accomplished without the approval of Congress.

Rev. 6:6 – “Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”
As we near the end times, the separation between the average person and the extremely wealthy will continue to grow. The economic struggles we are currently experiencing and will continue to experience through the end, is currently driving this divide wider each day.
The above scripture mentions a “quart of wheat” or “three quarts of barley” for a days wage. In that time, these amounds of grain were considered enough food to feed a single person for a day. What it is saying is that as things get worst and climax during the tribulation, the common man will be working a full day, just to provide food for himself, let alone his family and children.
The second part of the verse “do not damage the oil and the wine!” represents the wealthy class and the fact that through this they will not be experiencing the same problems of survival. I believe a lot of these will be the “ruling class”, like it was in Jesus day. Today, that would be our government officials and workers.
Stats were released today that show the average salary for a public worker is $120k. In contrast the average salary for a private worker is $60k. The public worker has officially doubled the pay, on average, of the private worker, who is actually the one paying for the public workers salary. This will only get worse, today, Obama has requested for 2011 that all public workers get an across the board pay increast of 4.1%.
The article below I believe another good example of how we are trending toward that even today. Contrast the type of living the public officials have with what your summer vacation plans were.

What the great French historian Alexis de Tocqueville would make of today’s Obama administration were he alive today is anyone’s guess. But I would wager that the author of L’Ancien Régime and Democracy in America would be less than impressed with the extravagance and arrogance on display among the White House elites that rule America as though they had been handed some divine right to govern with impunity.
It is the kind of impunity that has been highlighted on the world stage this week by Michelle Obama’s hugely costly trip to Spain, which has prompted a New York Post columnist Andrea Tantaros to dub the First Lady a contemporary Marie Antoinette. As The Telegraph reports, while the Obamas are covering their own vacation expenses such as accommodation, the trip may cost US taxpayers as much as $375,000 in terms of secret service security and flight costs on Air Force Two.

It is just a sign that we need to prepare our families for the comming birth pains. We do not know when Christ will return to rapture His church, so we must prepare and remain watchful, continuing to do His will on earth while we are here. Make sure you are standing behind Him, and He will protect us. He has prepared a place for us in heaven and has promised to keep us from the worst, so fret not but prepare.
I would suggest checking out getting stored food for your family. Check out the sites and then pray about it. It is amazing the piece of mind it can give you, in these uncertain times.

The United Nations said Monday that massive floods in Pakistan had affected 13.8 million people and eclipsed the scale of the devastating 2004 tsunami, as anger mounted among survivors.The Pakistani government and UN officials have appealed for more urgent relief efforts to cope with the country’s worst ever floods, with President Asif Ali Zardari due to return home after a heavily criticised European tour.
The entire northwestern Swat valley, where Pakistan fought a major campaign to flush out Taliban insurgents last year, was cut off at the weekend as were parts of the country’s breadbasket in Punjab and Sindh.
“This disaster is worse than the tsunami, the 2005 Pakistan earthquake and the Haiti earthquake,” Maurizio Giuliano, a spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), told AFP.
He said the 13.8 million affected outstripped the more than three million hit by the 2005 earthquake, five million in the 2004 tsunami and the three million affected by the Haiti earthquake in January this year.

It looks like Walmart next month will be adding RFID’s to all of their Jeans and Underwear as a trial to help with their inventory.
Now, I do not necessarily think that Walmart has anything neferious motives here other than improving their inventory process but the side effects can be significant. First these RFID’s can not be turned off so others can use them after they leave the store. It also gets us use to the idea of giving up the right of privacy in what you buy and where you are located.
Very interesting article and something to be aware of, I am sure most people will have no idea that this is happening and therefore unable to take appropriate actions, to remove the RFID’s.

Friendly Enemies
One of my hobbies is studying and researching the sons of fathers and grandfathers who were theological liberals from the Enlightenment through the Victorian era. It might sound like a snooze-fest, but it’s important when one considers that Erasmus Darwin’s radical views seeped-into the worldview of his famous grandson.
This study is important if we want to understand why we see heresy and apostasy becoming mainstream in the Church.
Thomas Huxley, “[Charles] Darwin’s bulldog,” was the most aggressive famous atheist of his day, and his grandsons Julian and Aldous influenced Western education in ways we probably don’t have the stomach to face.
My research has expanded to now study how theological liberals influence their associates, friends, and by extension, the masses—most tragically, youth.
Not surprisingly, one of the biggest targets of the liberals’ wrath today is Christian Zionism. It is quite fascinating to realize that the (ultimately successful) attempts to undermine Scripture began in the 17th and 18th centuries, with the attacks on this historicity of Genesis 1-11.
The next target were the books of the prophets—undermining the Jews and predictive prophecy. The ghastly outcomes of these attacks by the critics resulted in the Holocaust. Martin Luther, an outrageous anti-semite (but still darling of many evangelicals), and efforts by people like the German Christian Movement in the 20th century, plowed the soil for the Nazis.
Today, of course, the final battlefront for the Bible’s critics concern the person of Jesus Christ. We have an irony here: the Bible is true in its history, where it touches on science (such as the book of Job), and its philosophy for life. Yet the average person’s perspective is that somehow the critics have proved their case.
They have not.
That hasn’t stopped the sophisticated efforts of change agents like Brian McLaren and his Emergent friends. Not surprisingly, Israel is on the receiving end of their hateful efforts to marginalize the Jewish state and her friends: Christian supporters of Israel.
McLaren blogs frequently (www.brianmclaren.net) and also spends a fair amount of time touting the blogs of his theological friends, such as Frank Schaeffer, the son of biblical apologist Francis Schaeffer. The elder of course foresaw the rising apostasy, but the son is quite willing to attack Bible believers (www.huffingtonpost.com/frank-schaeffer/christian-zionism-is-trou_b_636872.html).
Remember what I said about the sons and grandsons being part of the decline in belief in the Bible?
McLaren’s blogs are quite revealing. Notice the following; his response to questions. He reveals his strategic thinking in advancing the goals of liberalism:
“This question reminded me how we need to remember that each day, new people are for the first time realizing that some sort of paradigm shift is possible, happening, and needed in their faith. Every day, new people are ready to start on the journey and get involved. A number of friends from the emergent village community have talked about this for years … we need to keep extending the new road farther and farther into new territory, while maintaining onramps for people from many different communities to start the journey from wherever they are, whenever they’re ready. It’s too easy to do one without the other … but both are essential.
“First, you’re fortunate in that fifteen years ago, when this journey was beginning for me, it was really hard to find anyone “safe” to talk to … there was a lot of talk about innovative methodology, but to raise theological questions was somewhat risky. Of course, it’s still risky – but thankfully more and more networks are forming where it’s safe to ask questions, think together, and explore.”
McLaren is simply pointing out that a generation ago, his ideas wouldn’t fly. Then, we had pastors in the pulpits that would stand for biblical truth. Today, we have pastors who are “life coaches” and advocates of their parishioners engaging in frequent sex. Or they promote and teach the latest clap-trap “Bible study” from a Christian celebrity.
In a later blog entry, McLaren then discusses one of his favorite subjects: bashing the Second Coming; he also never misses an opportunity to promote his books:
“Thanks for the encouragement. One slight tweak – in Chapter 18, I talk about the meaning of the word “parousia.” I explain that the term “second coming” isn’t found in the biblical text. It’s a term like “the Fall” – developed in extra-biblical theological literature, and then read back into the text (and sometimes put there by “translators” who are actually interpreters). That doesn’t mean it’s wrong – just that the term itself is subject to questioning. When Jesus speaks of coming back or again, sometimes he’s referring to the resurrection … sometimes he may be referring to his coming to be with us via the Holy Spirit at Pentecost … and sometimes he may be referring to the coming of a new era and “the end of the (current) age” centered in holy city, temple, priesthood, and sacrifice. He may also be referring to some ultimate judgment day … but the more I read the New Testament, the fewer of those references I think there are. More and more, it seems, Jesus was referring to things that were very close at hand, and so in that way, it turns out both Jesus and Paul were right: the cataclysm they predicted would happen “before this generation passes.”
McLaren is a preterist, one who believes most if not all the last-days prophecies were fulfilled by A.D. 70.
One of the outcomes of this kind of teaching—you won’t be surprised—is that Israel is again marginalized. When one believes that God’s promises for the Jews, from the Hebrew scriptures, are no longer in effect (Replacement Theology—God’s promises have been transferred to the Church), Israel takes on less importance in one’s thinking.
It is then a short step toward advocating the “rights of the Palestinians” above those of the Jews. This is the wedding between Palestinian propaganda efforts dating to the aftermath of the Six Day War, and theological liberalism, which has always despised the Jews.
It is why a change agent like John Shelby Spong can write books in which he claims to be a savage opponent of anti-Semitism, and at the same time (in the same book—what chutzpa!) claim that belief in the historicity of the Hebrew scriptures is the domain of fundamentalist crackpots!
Do you see? When you claim that the Old Testament is myth, symbolism or metaphor when it appears to be literal…you have just become a classic anti-Semite. You have denied the history and legitimacy of the very oppressed people you claim to defend!!
I have never forgotten the story told by David Reagan—surely one of the great Bible teachers of our time. Dave remembers as a youngster in church, asking the pastor what Zechariah meant when he recorded that the Messiah would re-visit Earth.
The pastor told him it was symbolic of Jesus coming into someone’s heart. In other words, there would never be a future moment in which the Jewish messiah would return to His homeland and begin to usher in an era of peace.
This is the result of liberals refusing to read the Bible in its plain-sense meaning. This “plain-sense” view is itself mocked by the liberals. Ironically, when Scripture admonishes the Jews to love justice, the liberals insist it means exactly what it says! The “Jews should practice justice” is always used by liberals who feel Israel needs to arm and bow-down to a Palestinian state.
Just know that Israel’s enemies are not limited to jihadists with a death wish. The long list of enemies includes those theological enemies who also long for the end of the Jewish state.
Christian Zionists who support Israel must know they are in a war of ideas. We must, must, must educate ourselves and resist the theological madness of the liberals.
Know also that men like McLaren come across as reasonable, earnest, and desirous of justice for everyone.
In the end, though, his vicious views of Israel will serve as a divisive wedge. The Christian Zionists McLaren and Schaeffer love to bash will have to decide how much they like perseverance.
We should well remember what Paul wrote to his protégé, in 2 Timothy 4:
“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
“Do your best to come to me quickly, for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me.”
The point is, for us, many Christians “love the world” because that’s easier in the short-term than standing for truth. A whole lot of people will side with the Palestinians and work to try and push the Jews into another ghetto. The pack mentality that has always plagued mankind, and fosters efforts to call, as Isaiah wrote, “good evil and evil good.”
Support of the Jewish state will cost you in the short-term. Ultimately, though, it will pale in comparison to the claims of the Judge of History that He will one day hand out judgment to the nations for the way they treated his people, Israel.
That day is coming, and when it does, I will be glad that my heart has always been toward Zion.

Don’t you love that sentence? “It was the signal of the end of death-as-the-end.” The reserection is an exploding flare announcing to all sincere seekers that it is safe to believe. Safe to believe in ultimate justice. Safe to believe in eternal bodies. Safe to believe in heaven as our estate and the earth as its porch. Safe to believe in a time when questions won’t keep us awake and pain won’t keep us down. Safe to believe in open graves and endless days and genuine praise.
Because we can accept the resurrection story, it is safe to accept the rest of the story. – When Christ Comes

This scripture really hit home for me. There is so much scary stuff that is coming our way in the end times as evil begins taking control of the planet. It is important to remember that God promises to protect us from His wrath. Yes, we will have to endure some of the birth pains as we dutifully execute His will and await the rapture but He watches over us through that time as well, always with us, always reassuring us and giving us the strength and decernment to carry on. This was the “a-ha” for me this morning and I will try going forward to add that reassurance with every post as well as these devotionals. Remember to take everything to Him in prayer, stand behind Him, the Truth, and the fire will not consume you.

Scientists tag animals to monitor their behavior and keep track of endangered species. Now some futurists are asking whether all of mankind should be tagged too. Looking for a loved one? Just Google his microchip.
The chips, called radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, emit a simple radio signal akin to a bar code, anywhere, anytime. Futurists say they can be easily implanted under the skin on a person’s arm.
Already, the government of Mexico has surgically implanted the chips, the size of a grain of rice, in the upper arms of staff at the attorney general’s office in Mexico City. The chips contain codes that, when read by scanners, allow access to a secure building, and prevent trespassing by drug lords.
In research published in the International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development, Taiwanese researchers postulate that the tags could help save lives in the aftermath of a major earthquake. “Office workers would have their identity badges embedded in their RFID tags, while visitors would be given temporary RFID tags when they enter the lobby,” they suggest. Similarly, identity tags for hospital staff and patients could embed RFID technology.
“Our world is becoming instrumented,” IBM’s chairman and CEO, Samuel J. Palmisano said at an industry conference last week. “Today, there are nearly a billion transistors per human, each one costing one ten-millionth of a cent. There are 30 billion radio RFID tags produced globally.”
Having one in every person could relieve anxiety for parents and help save lives, or work on a more mundane level by unlocking doors with the wave of a hand or starting a parked car — that’s how tech enthusiast Amal Graafstra (his hands are pictured above) uses his. But this secure, “instrumented” future is frightening for many civil liberties advocates. Even adding an RFID chip to a driver’s license or state ID card raises objections from concerned voices.
tracking boxes and containers on a ship en route from Hong Kong is OK, civil libertarians say. So is monitoring cats and dogs with a chip surgically inserted under their skin. But they say tracking people is over-the-top — even though the FDA has approved the devices as safe in humans and animals.
“We are concerned about the implantation of identity chips,” said Jay Stanley, senior policy analyst for the speech, privacy and technology program at the American Civil Liberties Union. He puts the problem plainly: “Many people find the idea creepy.”
“RFID tags make the perfect tracking device,” Stanley said. “The prospect of RFID chips carried by all in identity papers means that any individual’s presence at a given location can be detected or recorded simply through the installation of an invisible RFID reader.”
There are a number of entrepreneurial companies marketing radio tracking technologies, including Positive ID, Datakey and MicroChips. Companies started marketing the idea behind these innovative technologies a few years ago, as excellent devices for tracking everyone, all the time.
Following its first use in an emergency room in 2006, VeriChip touted the success of the subdermal chip. “We are very proud of how the VeriMed Patient Identification performed during this emergency situation. This event illustrates the important role that the VeriChip can play in medical care,” Kevin McLaughlin, President and CEO of VeriChip, said at the time.
“Because of their increasing sophistication and low cost, these sensors and devices give us, for the first time ever, real-time instrumentation of a wide range of the world’s systems — natural and man-made,” said IBM’s Palmisano.
But are human’s “systems” to be measured?
Grassroots groups are fretting loudly over civil liberties implications of the devices, threatening to thwart their development for mass-market, human tracking applications.
“If such readers proliferate, and there would be many incentives to install them, we would find ourselves in a surveillance society of 24/7 mass tracking,” said the ACLU’s Stanley.
The controversy extends overseas, too. David Cameron, Britain’s new prime minister, has promised to scrap a proposed national ID card system and biometrics for passports and the socialized health service, options that were touted by the Labour Party.
“We share a common commitment to civil liberties, and to getting rid — immediately — of Labour’s ID card scheme,” said Cameron according to ZDNet UK.
These controversies are impacting developers. One firm, Positive ID, has dropped the idea of tracking regular folks with its chip technology. On Wednesday, the company announced that it had filed a patent for a new medical device to monitor blood glucose levels in diabetics. The technology it initially developed to track the masses is now just a “legacy” system for the Del Ray Beach, Fla., firm.
“We are developing an in-vivo, glucose sensing microchip,” Allison Tomek, senior vice president of investor relations and corporate communications, told FoxNews.com. “In theory it will be able to detect glucose levels. We are testing the glucose sensor portion of the product. It will contain a sensor with an implantable RFID chip. Today’s patent filing was really about our technology to create a transformational electronic interface to measure chemical change in blood.”
Gone are the company’s previous ambitions. “Our board of directors wants a new direction,” says Tomek. “Rather than focus on identification only, we think there is much more value in taking this to a diagnostic platform. That’s the future of the technology — not the simple ID.”
The company even sold off some of its individual-style tracking technology to Stanley Black and Decker for $48 million, she said.
These medical applications are not quite as controversial as the tracking technologies. The FDA in 2004 approved another chip developed by Positive ID’s predecessor company, VeriChip, which stores a code — similar to the identifying UPC code on products sold in retail stores — that releases patient-specific information when a scanner passes over the chip. Those codes, placed on chips and scanned at the physician’s office or the hospital, would disclose a patient’s medical history.
But like smart cards, these medical chips can still be read from a distance by predators. A receiving device can “speak” to the chip remotely, without any need for physical contact, and get whatever information is on it. And that’s causing concern too.
The bottom line is simple, according to the ACLU: “Security questions have not been addressed,” said Stanley. And until those questions are resolved, this technology may remain in the labs.

Ok, I know this isn’t political, but I thought I’d run it anyway because I found it quite interesting. I ran across this video last Friday night for the first time and it put me into a weekend of Bible Prophesy that was very fulfilling. In fact this video blew my mind the first time I saw it.
The Arab-American man giving the lesson is Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist who came here in the 80′s to prepare for Jihad in America. Fortunately for us his life was transformed by God (The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob) and now he spends much of his time talking about the evil of Islam and occasionally Bible prophecy. He also has some good insight into Obama’s religion as well. I’ll leave that there for now.
One thing I’ve realized is Shoebat is a brilliant man who brings an eastern perspective on the Bible. I’ve listened to quite a bit of his teachings recently, and he really knows both the Bible and the Koran inside and out. In this video, he tells us something that he realized about the Mark of the Beast listed in Revelations 13. We’ve always known it as 666, but he seems to think otherwise:
I will point out that his argument makes much more sense than the seemingly arbitrary number 666. If you look at our world as it stands right now, much of it is Muslim and as Shoebat points out in other videos I’ve seen, there isn’t a single country in the last days that Jesus comes back to fight that isn’t now a Muslim country. And what do militant Muslims wear on their heads and arms? They wear bands that say “In the name of Allah”, among other things.
