We have all drifted or been led astray from the basics of God’s word. Do you know the ten commandments? List them off in you head right now? I got quite a few but it took a while. We all need to get back to the basics of founding our lives on God’s word. Christ warned of the church falling away in the last days. Satan is doing his best to quicken the fall. Do we still teach the 10 commandments in Sunday school? We must re-found ourselves on the rock…

Commandments need more church focus
The Family Research Council (FRC) recently decided to make the Ten Commandment its focus in order to stress the necessity of God’s law in society. Kenyn Cureton, vice president for church ministries at the FRC, explains that a USA Today poll shows that 60 percent of Americans do not know five of the Ten Commandments.
“It is amazing what Americans do know by comparison. Seventy-four percent can name all three of the stooges: Moe, Larry and Curly. Thirty-five percent can recall all six kids from The Brady Bunch, and 25 percent can name all seven ingredients from McDonald’s Big Mac. But here’s the sad news — only 14 percent can name all Ten Commandments,” Cureton laments.
On Sunday, October 10 (10/10/10), churches were provided with a bulletin insert and sermon, a booklet, posters and book covers for children — all enforcing the importance of God’s Law. The FRC church ministries vice president believes the Ten Commandments are foundational to the United States.
“President John Quincy Adams declared, ‘The Law given from Sinai was a civil and municipal, as well as a moral and religious code [that] contained many statutes of universal application. Law is essential to the existence of men and society,'” Cureton references.
He hopes churches will learn from this effort and be encouraged to focus more on the Ten Commandments.
