Sadly, this is just the next step in separating us further from our kids.  The indoctrination of our children through media and our education system.

Nothing could be more despicable.  God says it is the parents responsibility to raise and teach our children.

It is a responsibility we have too freely given up to government and others.

We are responsible.

You are.  I am.  Not someone outside our family.

⁴ Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Last time it was “we are endangering our children by disciplining them”, next it will be for teaching them “evolution is wrong” we are endangering their welfare.

I can feel it deep down inside, it is coming…

A Hard Road before Them

Don’t call Bill Nye “the creationism guy.”

The former children’s show host who was credited with turning kids on to science during his 1990’s PBS show “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” has released a video in which he charges that people who deny evolution are hurting children.

“Denial of evolution is unique to the United States,” Nye says on the video, titled “Creationism is not Appropriate for Children.”

Nye, who has become increasingly active in politics and is an ardent supporter of President Obama, claims that refusal to embrace evolution can hurt the U.S.

“We need scientifically literate voters and taxpayers for the future,” Nye adds. “We need people that can — we need engineers that can build stuff, solve problems.”

Nye told CBS he was not attacking religion by criticizing creationism.

“You can believe what you want religiously. Religion is one thing, but science, provable science is something else. My concern is you don’t want people growing up not believing in radioactivity, not believing in geology and deep time.

The video, which Nye made for online education forum Big Think, was posted last Thursday and has already been viewed more than 2 million times.

If you’re not certain you’re saved, here is what you should do, right now:

1. Acknowledge that you have sinned against a holy God and ask for forgiveness (even if you don’t feel you deserve it) (Rom. 3:23).  Genuinely feel the pain of your sin and be willing to turn from it (repent) (Acts 3:19).

2. Believe in your heart and mind that Jesus is the Son of God, that he died on the cross for you (John 3:1-18) in your place, and was raised back to life.  There is no one else you can turn to (John 14:6): “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”

3. Confess that you are trusting Jesus as your personal Savior.  Since Jesus is alive, you can talk to him.  This is called prayer.  So talk to him right now, in your own words, accept his invitation to know him.

It’s simple faith through grace, the kind of faith a little child would have.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)

Welcome brother or sister in Christ!  This is just the start of the journey, we are called to live in this world but not be of this world.  Begin studying God’s word (the Bible) daily to give you the strength and wisdom to live this calling out.  There are many sites like this that can help you as well.
