Netanyahu to Obama: Jerusalem is not a settlement

Exchange between Israel, US continues; State Dept. says both parties responsible for creating conditions for successful negotiations.

The peace process threatened to spiral out of control Tuesday over Israeli plans to advance 1,345 housing units in Jewish neighborhoods of east Jerusalem.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had flown to the US Saturday night hoping to break the impasse in the stalled peace talks. Instead, US President Barack Obama publicly reprimanded him as the Palestinians reissued their threats to seek unilateral statehood.

Netanyahu tone changing; laying groundwork for possible first strike

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s tone on Iran is changing. For much of the year, he has been fully supportive of economic sanctions and diplomacy vis-a-vis Tehran. But on this week’s visit ton the U.S., the PM is now asking American officials to put a credible military threat on the table. Netanyahu is, I believe, beginning to lay the groundwork for a possible Israeli preemptive strike, if the U.S. and the West can’t stop Iran any other way.

Yesterday, I did an interview with NewsMax.com. Here are some excerpts:

“President Barack Obama isn’t doing enough to keep nuclear weapons out of Iran’s hands, and Israel may have to launch a military strike as a result, says author Joel Rosenberg, former political consultant to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” reports NewsMax.com. “Rosenberg, a New York Times best-selling author, recently published The Twelfth Imam, a novel. ‘It’s not simply dangerous that Iran’s leaders have publicly called for the annihilation of Israel and the U.S. and that Iran is rapidly pursuing nuclear weapons,’ he tells Newsmax.TV.

“’The problem in Iran is that the regime has an end-of-time theology. It believes we are living in the end of days. It Continue Reading »

Joel’s book’s have a habit of changing from fiction to history.  This is because he writes them based on viewing world events through the third lens of scripture.  He gives an interesting breakdown of the Muslims concept of the 12th Imam and how dangerous Iran is due to their beliefs, something our administration is not considering…

10 QUESTIONS ON THE TWELFTH IMAM AND SHIA ISLAMIC END TIMES THEOLOGY

Last week, I was asked 10 questions on The Twelfth Imam by a Washington, D.C.-based news organization. We’ll see if they run the whole interview, but here are the answers I emailed back to them.

1.) Q: Why did you decide to write the book?

A: We are living on the brink of the apocalypse, but the world is asleep. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said in July that he actually met with the Shia Islamic messiah, known as the Twelfth Imam. Few know that happened. Fewer still know what that means. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says his government’s mission is to hasten the appearance of the Twelfth Imam on earth. What’s so dangerous is that in the Shia Islamic eschatology – or End Times theology – of these two men, they believe that their God-given mission in life is to destroy Judeo-Christian civilization as we know it, in order to accelerate the arrival of their so-called messiah to earth. Given their feverish efforts to build nuclear weapons, this is very dangerous stuff. The problem is that most world leaders aren’t paying attention to the eschatology driving Iranian foreign policy. Most Americans aren’t aware of it either. We have a Farsi-speaking Hitler rising, and the world is doing nothing decisive to stop him. Now, I’m a failed political consultant. But sometimes fiction has a way of capturing people’s imagination in a way that non-fiction doesn’t. Conservatives typically haven’t written much fiction – specifically political thrillers – over the years to educate, inspire and mobilize people on issues of great import, but we ought to. I want to take people on a spellbinding journey inside one of the darkest regimes in the world, the Iranian regime. I want to take people” inside the room,” as it were, as Iranian leaders plot their nuclear weapons strategy and plot the annihilation of Israel, which they call the “little Satan,” and the United States, which they call the “Great Satan.” Perhaps this novel, The Twelfth Imam, can play a small role in waking up a nation, a world, asleep at the switch.

2.) Q: Explain who the Twelfth Imam, or the Mahdi, is for those may not know.

A: The Twelfth Imam was a real, flesh-and-blood person who lived during the ninth century AD. Like the eleven Shia Continue Reading »

A great reminder of God’s word on the subject.  During these end times, we must turn back to God and His Word to assure we are grounded on the Rock and not deceived.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, THE VATICAN’S LATEST, PAINFUL PRONOUNCEMENT ON ISRAEL IS WRONG: Paul’s letter to Rome affirms that Jews are the chosen people

A new headline in the Jerusalem Post reads: “Vatican synod calls for end to Israel’s ‘occupation’: At conference on Christians in the Middle East, US Melkite archbishop says: ‘There is no longer a chosen people.’”

The New York Times headline reads: Bishops at Meeting Urge Israel to End Its Occupation of Palestinian Territories.” The Times reported: “In a final communiqué at the end of a two-week-long meeting at the Vatican on the plight of Christians in the Middle East, the bishops also urged Israel not to use the Bible ‘to wrongly justify injustices,’ apparently referring to Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. But in a news conference Saturday, the archbishop in charge of the committee that drafted the communiqué, Cyrille Salim Bustros, appeared to go further, saying the Bible did not justify a Jewish presence in Israel. ‘The concept of the promised land cannot be used as a base for the justification of the return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of Palestinians,” he said. “Sacred scripture should not be used to justify the occupation by Israel of Palestine.’”

Here is a link to the official Vatican translation of the “Message to the People of God” that the synod fathers of the Special Assembly for the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops approved on Friday, October 22, 2010.

Analysis: German tempers fray as U.S. policy gulf widens

(Reuters) – Germany‘s undiplomatic outbursts against U.S. policy, calling it “clueless” before a G20 summit, show growing estrangement on economics as America’s focus shifts away from transatlantic ties to domestic challenges and Asia.

“The Atlantic is getting wider,” said Anton Boerner, head of Germany’s Foreign Trade Association, who spoke of a “creeping alienation” between America and Europe, which has been exacerbated by the global financial crisis.

Germany and the United States often criticize each other’s approaches to aiding economic recovery, with U.S. calls for more expansive policy falling on deaf ears in fiscally disciplined Germany. But Berlin has taken the rhetoric to a new level.

In Curt Exchange, U.S. Faults Israel on Housing

WASHINGTON — President Obama’s criticism of new Israeli housing plans for East Jerusalem, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s even sharper retort, have thrown the Middle East peace talks into jeopardy, with the dispute over Jewish settlements looming as a seemingly insuperable hurdle.

Marco Longari/Agence France-Presse — Getty Images

Masked Palestinian protesters were enveloped by dust from a passing truck on Tuesday during clashes with Israeli forces in the Arab village of Issawiya in east Jerusalem.

The Obama administration is struggling to restart direct negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians, which stalled last month after the expiration of a partial freeze on settlement construction in the West Bank. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton plans to meet Mr. Netanyahu in New York on Thursday, while Egypt sent two top officials to Washington to discuss ways to salvage the process.

But the brusque exchange between Mr. Obama and Mr. Netanyahu reflected again the gulf between Israel and the United States over settlements — an issue Mr. Obama initially made the centerpiece of his Middle East diplomacy. Palestinian officials said Israel’s latest announcement threatened the talks and could prompt a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state.

When asked in about Israel’s plans for 1,000 housing units for a contested part of East Jerusalem, Mr. Obama said, “This kind of activity is never helpful when it comes to peace negotiations.”

“I’m concerned that we’re not seeing each side make the extra effort involved to get a breakthrough,” the president added during his visit to Indonesia. “Each of these incremental steps can end up breaking trust.”

A few hours later, Mr. Netanyahu’s office responded with a statement, saying that “Jerusalem is not a settlement; Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel.”

Is the Fed’s Debt-Buying Unconstitutional?

Is the Federal Reserve violating the U.S. Constitution’s separation of powers in its new purchases of $600 billion worth of U.S. Treasuries? Is the Fed engaging in an unconstitutional monetization of the   U.S. Congress’ out of control spending spree that is really a bridge loan to fiscal insanity?

At minimum, should the Fed be avoiding these purchases until the fiscally debauched U.S. Congress, packed to the ceiling with fiscal dipsomaniacs, follows Great Britain’s lead in its fiscal abstinence that may “out Thatcher” even Margaret Thatcher?

Isn’t the problem fiscal incontinence and regulatory misfeasance, and business uncertainty about all of that, which is creating joblessness? Not a lack of liquidity and not deflation, which is not a clear and present danger, as instead inflation is still with us?

And isn’t the Fed dangerously habituating the stock, bond and commodities markets to a “new normal” of constant quantitative easing?

Germany Unwittingly Adopts A Silver Standard Due to Soaring Price

By Toni Straka of The Prudent Investor

Germany Unwittingly Adopts A Silver Standard Due to Soaring Price

Silver’s sky-shot to a new 30-year high of $27.73 per ounce has led to a new phenomenon in Germany. For the first time in history it is theoretically possible to buy two last series of silver coins with a denomination of €10 and a silver content of 0.535 ounces for less than the silver equivalent. According to a report in German Daily “Welt” the soaring silver price has forced the German government to bring forward the starting time of sales of the 2 commemorative coins into October to save face. The coins now have a value of €10.66 but have to be sold at the denominated Euro value.

As this story is widely circulating in Germany it can be expected that these coins will be sold out by tomorrow.
Germany’s time on a theoretical silver standard – the country was on a bi-metallic standard before the Weimar Republic in the 1920s – won’t last long, though.

In order to counter soaring silver prices and keep the denominated value below the silver value the country has announced it will reduce the silver content to 10 grams or 0.3215 ounces in its commemorative silver coin line from January 2011.

The US is in even deeper shit.

They have to distribute the national park set in the 5 OZ blown version for 120 dollars a piece.

As this also needs to be done according to US law, they’ll be sold out in 1 day when they sell them.

Launch will be in december and the maximum order quantity is 1000 pc for national parks and 50 sets per citizen.

AND!!!!

THEY HAVE TO MAKE THEM UNTILL DEMAND STOPS!!!

That’s why they wait untill the end of the year to do so because at first it was planned after the summer.

Missile Shot Off Los Angeles Still a Mystery for Pentagon Officials

A video that appears to show a missile launch off the coast of California is so far “unexplained” by anyone in the military, a Pentagon spokesman told reporters Tuesday morning

Col. Dave Lapan said he is not able to concur with an official from North American Aerospace Defense Command/U.S. Northern Command who told Fox News earlier that there was “no threat to the homeland.”

Lapan said the military doesn’t know exactly what the so-called mystery missile was so can’t say it’s harmless.

A local CBS affiliate in Los Angeles on Monday evening captured on video the image of the “spectacular” projectile flying about 35 miles out to sea, west of Los Angeles and north of Catalina Island.

Russia to `Insist’ U.S. Coordinate With G-20 Members on Monetary Measures

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will “insist” on global coordination of any so-called quantitative easing measures by government when he meets with counterparts from the Group of 20 nations this week.

Such actions will need to be planned in advance in order to avoid creating risks for other markets and economies, senior Kremlin economic adviser Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters in Moscow today.

Russia will also argue against instituting targets on current account surplusses or deficits, Dvorkovich said.

$10.2 trillion: The amount of money advanced-nation governments will need to borrow in 2011

As the debts of advanced countries rise to levels not seen since the aftermath of World War II, it’s hard to know how much is too much. But it’s easy to see that the risk of serious financial trouble is growing.

Next year, fifteen major developed-country governments, including the U.S., Japan, the U.K., Spain and Greece, will have to raise some $10.2 trillion to repay maturing bonds and finance their budget deficits, according to estimates from the International Monetary Fund. That’s up 7% from this year, and equals 27% of their combined annual economic output.

Aside from Japan, which has a huge debt hangover from decades of anemic growth, the U.S. is the most extreme case. Next year, the U.S. government will have to find $4.2 trillion. That’s 27.8% of its annual economic output, up from 26.5% this year. By comparison, crisis-addled Greece needs $69 billion, or 23.8% of its annual GDP.

It heard, among other things, that the U.S. discriminates against Muslims, that its police are barbaric and that it has been holding political prisoners behind bars for years.

Russia urged the U.S. to abolish the death penalty. Cuba and Iran called on Washington to close Guantanamo prison and investigate alleged torture by its troops abroad. Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation, told it must better promote religious tolerance. Mexico complained that racial profiling had become a common practice in some U.S. states.

Great balls of fire over Canada: NASA investigates

The Canadian Press

Date: Thursday Nov. 4, 2010 4:27 PM ET

MONTREAL — Great balls of fire have been reported swooping over Eastern Canada and several U.S. states.

Even NASA’s on the case.

There are different theories about what was behind the sighting of those fireballs. A NASA spacecraft got a closer look at one of the possible sources today.

The spacecraft flew past Hartley 2 — taking closeup pictures after the comet made one of its closest passes by Earth this week.

But one expert is skeptical of reports that any fireballs came from Hartley — which is roughly 1.2 kilometres wide and spews deadly cyanide gas.

Scientist Peter Brown says his meteor group at the University of Western Ontario tracked one of two fireballs while the other was tracked by NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office.

Nov 4 (Reuters) – Unbridled printing of dollars is the biggest risk to the global economy, an adviser to the Chinese central bank said in comments published on Thursday, a day after the Federal Reserve unveiled a new round of monetary easing.

China must set up a firewall via currency policy and capital controls to cushion itself from external shocks, Xia Bin said in a commentary piece in the Financial News, a Chinese-language newspaper managed by the central bank.

“As long as the world exercises no restraint in issuing global currencies such as the dollar — and this is not easy — then the occurrence of another crisis is inevitable, as quite a few wise Westerners lament,” he said.

QE2 risks currency wars and the end of dollar hegemony

As the US Federal Reserve meets today to decide whether its next blast of quantitative easing should be $1 trillion or a more cautious $500bn, it does so knowing that China and the emerging world view the policy as an attempt to drive down the dollar.

The Fed’s “QE2” risks accelerating the demise of the dollar-based currency system, perhaps leading to an unstable tripod with the euro and yuan, or a hybrid gold standard, or a multi-metal “bancor” along lines proposed by John Maynard Keynes in the 1940s.

China’s commerce ministry fired an irate broadside against Washington on Monday. “The continued and drastic US dollar depreciation recently has led countries including Japan, South Korea, and Thailand to intervene in the currency market, intensifying a ‘currency war’. In the mid-term, the US dollar will continue to weaken and gaming between major currencies will escalate,” it said.

Earthquake rattles Serbia

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Serbia early Wednesday, seismologists said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake hit at 1:56 am (0056 GMT) with its epicentre at 10 kilometres (six miles) north of the central city of Kraljevo, the Serbian seismological institute said.

It was felt across the country, including the capital Belgrade.

The US Geological Survey measured it with a magnitude of 5.3 at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres.

The quake was immediately followed by four other less powerful aftershocks, the Serbian institute said.

Earthquake kills two in central Serbia

The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at 0056 GMT

A moderate earthquake has hit central Serbia, killing two people and injuring at least 50 others.

The tremor had a magnitude of 5.3 and its epicentre was near the city of Kraljevo, some 150km (94 miles) south-west of the capital.

The quake struck at 0156 (0056 GMT), the US Geological Survey said.

Eyewitnesses said buildings, including the local hospital, were slightly damaged during the quake and some homes were without water and electricity.

Serbia’s interior minister said that the two people who died were a couple, killed when the roof of their house collapsed.

Ivica Dacic said material damage to the town of 70,000 people was considerable and that rescue teams and police had already been deployed to the area.

One eyewitness and Kraljevo resident, Milica Lazarevic said the town was badly damaged.

“The town is littered with debris. Some older houses are destroyed completely,” she said.

“My street and perhaps half of the town have no phones, water and electricity.”

Indonesian warns volcano ‘could erupt for months’

Indonesia warned Tuesday its most active volcano could continue erupting for months as 50,000 remained in temporary shelters and airlines cancelled flights over the disaster-hit nation.

“It could go on for weeks, even months,” government volcanologist Subandrio told AFP.

Emerging from hell, the dust-caked and bloodied survivors of Mount Merapi’s worst eruption yet

  • Death toll reaches 122 as authorities extend danger zone
  • ‘There was an explosion that sounded like it was from a war… and it got worse, the ash and debris raining down.’

Horror scenes greeted rescuers arriving at villages near Mount Merapi after the Indonesian volcano’s worst eruption in a century last night sent the death toll soaring to 122.

Searing gas avalanched down the mountainside with a thunderous roar, torching houses and trees and incinerating villagers as they fled.

The injured – with clothes, blankets and even mattresses fused to their skin by temperatures reaching 750C – were carried away on stretchers following the first big explosion just before midnight.

Soldiers joined rescue operations in hardest-hit Bronggang, a village nine miles from the crater, pulling at least 78 bodies from homes and streets blanketed by ash up to one-foot deep.

Crumpled roofs, charred carcasses of cattle, and broken chairs – all layered in white soot – dotted the smoldering landscape.

The volcano, in the heart of densely populated Java island, has erupted scores of times, killing more than 1,500 people in the last century alone. But tens of thousands of people live on its rolling slopes, drawn to soil made fertile by molten lava and volcanic debris.

Its latest activity started nearly two weeks ago. After Friday’s explosion – said by volcanologists to be the biggest since the 1870s – officials announced by loudspeaker that the mountain’s danger zone had been expanded to 12 miles.

Previously, villages like Bronggang were still considered to be in the ‘safe zone’.

‘The heat surrounded us and there was white smoke everywhere,’ said Niti Raharjo, 47, who was thrown from his motorbike along with his 19-year-old son while trying to flee.

‘I saw people running, screaming in the dark, women so scared they fell unconscious,’ he said from a hospital where they were both being treated for burns.

‘There was an explosion that sounded like it was from a war… and it got worse, the ash and debris raining down.’

The greatest danger posed by Merapi has always been pyroclastic flows – like those that roared down the southern slopes at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.

With bodies found in front of houses and in streets, it appeared that many of the villagers died from the searing gas while trying to escape, said Col. Tjiptono, a deputy police chief.

More than 150 injured people – most with burns and some with respiratory problems, broken bones and cuts – waited to be treated at the tiny Sardjito hospital, where the bodies piled up in the morgue, and two other hospitals.

‘We’re totally overwhelmed here,’ said Heru Nogroho, a spokesman at Sardjito.

A total of 1,765 million cubic feet of volcanic material has been released.

More than 100,000 people living along Merapi’s fertile slopes have been evacuated to crowded emergency shelters, many by force, in the last week. Some return to their villages during lulls in activity, however, to tend to their livestock.

They were told to stay away on Friday.

Even scientists from Merapi’s monitoring station were told they had to pack up and move down the mountain. They were scrambling to repair four of their five seismographs destroyed by the heavy soot showers.

Before Friday, the death toll from Merapi stood at 44, with most dying in the first blast on October 26. With the new deaths around the village of Bronggang it climbed to 122, the National Disaster Management Agency said.

In 1994, 60 people were killed by Merapi, while in 1930, more than a dozen villages were torched, leaving up to 1,300 dead.

Fed to Spend $600 Billion More To Help Boost US Economy

The Federal Reserve launched a controversial new policy on Wednesday, committing to buy $600 billion more in government bonds by the middle of next year in an attempt to breathe new life into a struggling U.S. economy.

The decision, which takes the Fed into largely uncharted waters, is aimed at further lowering borrowing costs for consumers and businesses still suffering in the aftermath of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

The U.S. central bank said it would buy about $75 billion in longer-term Treasury bonds per month. It said it would regularly review the pace and size of the program and adjust it as needed depending on the path of the recovery.

In its post-meeting statement, the Fed described the economy as “slow”, and said employers remained reluctant to add to payrolls. It said measures of inflation were “somewhat low.”

Prophecy Sign: Luke 21:11 “There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.MOUNT MERAPI, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesia‘s deadly volcano erupted Wednesday with its biggest blast yet, shooting searing ash miles into the sky and forcing the hasty evacuations of panicked villagers and emergency shelters near the base. Soldiers loaded men, women and crying children into trucks as rocks and debris hurled in the air and down the mountain’s slopes. No new casualties were reported immediately after the booming explosion that lasted more than an hour. “This is an extraordinary eruption, triple from the first” on Oct. 26, said Surono, a state volcanologist.” If you click to the red link below it will take you to a site that shows you all the volcanoes that are erupting.
