One of the puzzles I have been trying to work through in by head is how will the Psalm 83 prophecy be fulfilled. For the longest time there were several roadblocks that kept this from being a feasible occurence. Some examples would be:
– Turkey was a NATO ally and future member of the EU
– Libya was under a secular dictator
– Egypt was protecting Israel’s southern border and under a secular dictator.
– Syria was under a secular dictator.
– Iraq was under US protection with a major military presence. This acted as a buffer between Israel and Iran.
Why do I list these in particular? Because of God’s prophecy in Psalm 83.
Psalm 83
1 O God, do not remain silent;
do not turn a deaf ear,
do not stand aloof, O God.
2 See how your enemies growl,
how your foes rear their heads.
3 With cunning they conspire against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.
4 “Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation,
so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.”
5 With one mind they plot together;
they form an alliance against you—
6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites,
7 Byblos, Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
8 Even Assyria has joined them
to reinforce Lot’s descendants.[b]
9 Do to them as you did to Midian,
as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
10 who perished at Endor
and became like dung on the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, “Let us take possession
of the pasturelands of God.”
13 Make them like tumbleweed, my God,
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.
16 Cover their faces with shame, LORD,
so that they will seek your name.
17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.
18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
So who are these Moab’s, Hagrites, Philistia and people of Tyre? They all sound like ancient people of an age-long past you say!
Well here may be some names you recognize: Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, and Palestine.
Here is the translator ring:
Edom and Ishmaelites —> Southern Jordan
Moab and Ammon —> Rest of Jordan
Hagrites (Aram) —> Syria
Gebal (Byblos) and Tyre —> Lebanon
Amalekites —> Israel’s southern desert
Philistia —> Gaza
descendants of Lot —> Jordan
Assyria —> Conquered Aram shortly after Psalm 83 was written (Syria)
So there you have it a nice little ring around Israel, all of her immediate neighbors.

All of these barriers are falling one by one in a miraculous prophecy domino showcase!
First, Egypt experience an uprising or arab spring. At first this was called a democratic movement, with secular liberals overthrowing a ruthless and repressive dictator. Recently we have seen the true nature of the movement. Or at least the final outcome, The Muslim Brotherhood looks to be in control or at least the driver’s seat, and taking them to a Sharia Law based government. The have turned a 180 on Israel and are now calling for its destruction.

Next to go was Libya, with the EU and NATO’s help, the Arab-Spring has overcome its second dictator. But who are these rebels we are funding, what is their intent? With the final fall and exodus of their dictator, that intent has been reveled: Sharia Law and a Muslim Caliphate.

Then Turkey, their military officers all resigned at once. You might say what’s the big deal there, well the one stabilizing force in Turkey was the largely secular military. Next there has been speculation that Syria will be the next target for the UN/NATO/EU with their new-found power of “responsibility to protect”. Look it up, it is what they used in Libya, it is what they will use in Syria, and eventually, I believe Israel, the ultimate goal.

Say what? Good thing our military is there as well as a friendly Iraqis government.
Fast forward to today and I see this article.

I tell you folks, there are powers at work here well beyond our comprehension.
I do not doubt for a second that God’s word will come true. He is in control.
That gives me peace, he also promises to keep us from the coming wrath.
