Posts Tagged ‘end days’

One of the signs of the last days is a rise in Christian persecution.

It is something that is easy to see in countries like China, Egypt, Pakistan, and African nations but the US.  We are a Christian nation right?  It would never happen here.

Well, it might not have been as blatant over the last 10 years but it is coming out of the shadows now and becoming more and more blatant.  Even our president has said we are not a Christian nation.  I know this report shocks a lot of people but not those that have been watchful and studying God’s prophecy on the last days.  It is what Paul meant when he said that we should not be surprised by what comes to pass as we have been foretold and remained watchful as to not be caught by the Thief in the night.

It is almost humorous to read some of the arguments made in the article below, that these acts are just upholding the constitution and not attacking religion.  It is 180 degrees backwards.  The original intent of the Constitution as our founding fathers wrote it was to protect religion from government, not government from religion.  They did not want separation of church and state, that was an idea created in the 20th century.  They wanted to protect religious freedom to choose what ever religion you wanted and practice it openly and to prevent the Government from declaring a mandatory state religion, like was enforced in England and most of Europe at the time.  We have so turned this around and deceived ourselves that we now are on the wrong side of truth, and Truth is the Word of God.

The deception is so thick in this world you could cut it with a knife.  And peoples hearts are starting to harden to it all.

We are called to keep shining our Light into this world, until our blessed assurance / blessed hope occurs and Christ returns for His bride.

Maranatha!  Lord come quickly!

Christians victims of rising ‘hostility’ from gov’t and secular groups

A new report by the Family Research Council and the Liberty Institute claims that there’s been a rising pattern of hostility toward Christians in America over the past decade.

The 140-page “Survey of Religious Hostility in America,” prepared by the Liberty Institute and the Family Research Council, highlighted more than 600 examples illustrating what it characterized as religious animosity shown by judges, government bureaucrats, schools and secular groups. From ObamaCare mandates that force religious entities to pay for contraception, to children being punished for uttering prayers in school, the report’s findings shocked even those who commissioned it.

“It’s way beyond anything we had imagined. It’s so much more prolific than it’s ever been before.”

– Kelly Shackelford, president of the Liberty Institute

“It’s a conflict of world views,” Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, told FoxNews.com. “These groups want people to check their faith at the door of the public square.”

Among the examples listed in the survey:

  • Matthew Reynolds, valedictorian  for HLV Junior-Senior High School in Victor, Iowa, was told he had to give a ‘secular’ speech after he wished to attribute his success to his faith in Jesus Christ during his graduation speech.
  •  A cross was removed from a veterans’ memorial in San Diego, after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit  held that the memorial was unconstitutional.
  • .Dr. Frank Turek, a Cisco employee, was fired for expressing his views on traditional marriage in his book, even though he never voiced his religious opinions at work.
  • Samantha Schulz, 8, was barred from singing “Kum Ba Yah” at a Boys and Girls Club in Port Charlotte, Fla., because the song included the words “Oh, Lord.”
  • Catherina Lorena Cenzon-DeCarlo, a nurse at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital, was forced to participate in a late-term abortion against her religious convictions, and was threatened with job termination and loss of license.

The goal of the report is to raise awareness of these incidents to promote the appointment of judges “who are sensitive to the Constitution,” said Kelly Shackelford, president of the Plano, Texas-based Liberty Institute. The report was presented in Tampa just ahead of next week’s Republican National Convention.

According to Shackelford, the hostility can lead to violence, as in the case of the Aug.15 shooting at the Family Research Council headquarters, in which a gunman allegedly said he disagreed with the group’s beliefs before shooting an employee in the arm. He also cited the Aug. 5 shooting deaths of six people at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee.

“It’s way beyond anything we had imagined,” Shackelford told FoxNews.com.”It’s so much more prolific than it’s ever been before.”

One critic said the report is guilty of blurring the line between attacking religion and upholding the Constitution. A.J. Johnson, development director of American Atheists, Inc., said no one condones hate crimes such as the FRC shooting. But many other examples cited are simply cases in which advocates called for the separation of church and state,” Johnson said.

“The Family Research Council distorts court cases upholding the First Amendment as examples of “religious hostility,” she said. “In reality, they are imposing their beliefs onto others and claiming to be victims of religious persecution when they do not get unique Christian privilege.”

But Perkins said the secular nation that groups like Johnson’s seek was never envisioned by the Founding Fathers, and will not come to be.

“That’s not the future of our country,” Perkins said.

If you’re not certain you’re saved, here is what you should do, right now:
  1. Acknowledge that you have sinned against a holy God and ask for forgiveness (even if you don’t feel you deserve it) (Rom. 3:23).  Genuinely feel the pain of your sin and be willing to turn from it (repent) (Acts 3:19).
  2. Believe in your heart and mind that Jesus is the Son of God, that he died on the cross for you (John 3:1-18) in your place, and was raised back to life.  There is no one else you can turn to (John 14:6): “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  3. Confess that you are trusting Jesus as your personal Savior.  Since Jesus is alive, you can talk to him.  This is called prayer.  So talk to him right now, in your own words, accept his invitation to know him.
It’s simple faith through grace, the kind of faith a little child would have.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)
Welcome brother or sister in Christ!  This is just the start of the journey, we are called to live in this world but not be of this world.  Begin studying God’s word (the Bible) daily to give you the strength and wisdom to live this calling out.  There are many sites like this that can help you as well.

My heart is troubled.  I found out my church is beginning to adopt some of the “Emerging church” doctrine.  It is scary to see such deception creep into our supposed “safe places” and through people who should know better.  It is where God wanted us to be able to recharge in between venturing out into this world to be His light.  This time it is so sinister as to use “missionaryism” to our communities as the topic.  A topic that every church wants to improve on and do the Lord’s work by bringing others to Christ.  But the methods they are suggesting are dangerous and disarming.

I feel we may be losing ground to these feel good/new age Emergent’s.  In this new approach, they stress that we (the saints) need to leave our Bibles and God’s word behind and go out and make friends with non-believers (sojourners) in a non-confrontational manner by joining their groups and once we have become friends, we are to invite them back into our community groups, which they are calling “incarnational communities”.   There we can fellowship with them in a non-discriminatory manner to show them God’s word without confrontation.   To tell you the truth, the actual process feels deceptive to the non-believers and somewhat cult-ish.  It was the word “incarnational” that set off alarms so I began doing some homework on its roots which you can see a few links below.

I can’t believe they said to leave our Bibles behind and go out into this world.  Are we really to become part of this world to bring non-believers to Christ?  After we are born again, we are to be in this world but not of this world.  God’s word tells us that we are to be his light to the world by living differently due to my faith and the hope that my faith in Christ gives me.  God’s word (the Bible) is one of the items God said “above all” do not leave behind.  It is part of our holy armor Paul describes in Ephesians.

Ephesians 6:10-20 – (NKJV) – The Whole Armor of God

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (emphasis added)

God’s word is our sword.  It is how we awaken those asleep, sow His seeds, and protect ourselves from our enemy.  This is a time of spiritual warfare, both sides are scrambling to bring in the largest harvest before the end.  With our churches infiltrated by the likes of Rick Warren and Brian McLean where do we, that are battle weary from living in this world (but not of this world) go.  Maybe the answer may be small home churches?  This is how God’s word is spreading around the world at astonishing rates as it used to be in America decades ago before churches began growing larger and into mega churches.  Maybe it is needed again here too.  We need to pray about this and ask for the Lord’s direction.

There is more deception out there than I can possibly describe.  It is now a wolf in sheep’s clothes.  We need to be on guard from the “Emerging” doctrine.  We need to stay watchful within our churches and keep our armor on because: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

I will be adding a page in the weeks ahead that will list the names of Pastors that I find subscribe to this and some of the key resources that you can use to find out more about what their plans are and where it is headed.

Hint: Zechariah 12:3 and One World Religion.

Below are a few links I have found so far on the topic, Incarnational and the TK Primer (Tangible Kingdom):

Incarnational

What does it mean?

These days, the word “incarnational” can be heard in most denominations and postmodern churches. It’s at the heart of the new, experiential form of Christianity — the transformative movement attempting to unify the world under the banner of the evolving “Church”. It fits right into Rick Warrens global P.E.A.C.E. Plan and Brian McLaren’s Kingdom of God.

It calls for a non-offensive form of the “gospel.” No longer is the emphasis on God’s Word and personal regeneration through the Holy Spirit. The new emphasis is primarily on collective experience and unifying community service. To avoid conflict, the true gospel — including the “offense of the cross” — must be banned along with other divisive Scriptures.

Here is a list of quotes that show the postmodern usages and definitions of this word. They generally agree with each other.

Back when I was in college, we use to test metal samples in a tensile stress (tension) machine.  We would stretch the metal bar samples until the broke recording the stress curve and final break point.  We would watch the metal bend and stretch, sure in the next second it would snap, but it wouldn’t time and time again and then when you finally would take a breath, pop, the metal sample would snap.

A lot of Bible prophecy feels like this, we think that the tension level could not get any higher without snapping and yet we reach another level and we repeat the same thoughts, how could it get any worst and not see prophecy events occur?

We are at one of these points where we are flinching ready for it to pop and prophecy to unfold.

What will happen?  Only God knows.

Buildup to Sudden Destruction

Rumors of war in the Middle East continue and grow by the day. We have heard of such Armageddon-like conflict that is coming for most of a decade. It’s almost like the little boy who cried “wolf,” but not quite.

Anyone with any sense of the potential for conflagration in that volatile region that could bring worldwide war knows that the breaking point has now about been reached. Iran’s nuclear weapon development project–or the fear that their nuclear program is for developing weapons of mass destruction—is, of course, the primary reason for the tensions involved.

Three observable factors are on the stepped-up agenda of potential war consideration: 1) Israel is in a top-alert configuration, talking more or less openly about its most advanced defensive capabilities; 2) Iran is expressing fear of imminent attack from Israel, and is hustling to protect its nuclear program; 3) The Israeli prime minister and his military have a strong sense that they must depend only on their own resolve, not that of their one-time staunch, superpower ally to defend the Jewish state.

The stage setting for a greater conflict is ramping up.  Could it be Psalm 83 or the spark for Ezekiel 38?

Russia has major military drills in the south this October and troops on the way to Syria.

The Muslim Brotherhood has taken control of Libya, Egypt, and now Syria?

Egypt’s president has called for the revived caliphate with it capital in Jerusalem.

It feels like time is getting short.  I have sensed an uneasiness, a restlessness in people over the last week.

We are on the verge of something…

A vast “raft” of volcanic rocks covering 10,000 sq miles (26,000 sq km) of ocean has been spotted by a New Zealand military aircraft.

A naval ship was forced to change course in order to avoid the cluster of buoyant rocks, located 1,000 miles off the New Zealand coast.

The unusual phenomenon was probably the result of pumice being released from an underwater volcano, experts said.

One navy officer described it as the “weirdest thing” he had seen at sea.

Sometimes we focus so much on the negatives that are coming upon us during these “last days” but Grant in the article below does a great job pulling out the amazing promise that God has given us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

He will keep us from the worst and transform us and those that have gone before us into new bodies.

Immortal and sin free!  Praise be to God!  Amen!

We Will Have A New Body

By Grant Phillips

One of the most exciting Scripture passages in the Bible is written by the Apostle Paul and found in 1 Corinthians 15:35-58. For your convenience, I will include this passage below in the New Living Translation (NLT).

The Resurrection Body

35 But someone may ask, “How will the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will they have?” 36 What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first. 37 And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a bare seed of wheat or whatever you are planting. 38 Then God gives it the new body he wants it to have. A different plant grows from each kind of seed. 39 Similarly there are different kinds of flesh—one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.

40 There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies. 41 The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.

42 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. 43 Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 44 They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.

45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit. 46 What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. 47 Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. 48 Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. 49 Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.

50 What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 53 For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

Another good article pointing to the divide that is occurring.  It is really ominous how, from a christian faith perspective, the two sides are forming, good and evil.

God’s Word is clear.  It is inerrant.

Jackson makes some pretty solid points, where do you stand?

The former candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia points to what he calls the Democrat party’s “cult-like devotion” to abortion; the rejection of the traditional biblical model of family; the hostility hurled at those who express a Christian viewpoint such as Chick-fil-A president and Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy; the actions of organizations such as the ACLU and the Foundation For Freedom From Religion in suing cities and towns for displaying crosses at memorials or mentioning the name Jesus in prayer at official events.

Is God sifting the grain from the chaff?

How divided have we become?

It may seem small but we are on a slippery slope and this is discrimination based on faith.

Much more hidden and deceptive by the PC society we have become but it is building.

If all this can come from one company’s faith and those that support them, what lies ahead?

Thank God for his blessed assurance that he will keep us from the worst!

DPD Sgt. Left Holding Bag Over Chick-Fil-A Sandwich

By Andrea Lucia & Ryan Crowe, CBSDFW.com

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – The controversy over Chick-Fil-A may now have impacted the Dallas Police Department.

CBS 11 has learned a Dallas Police Sergeant brought a sandwich from the embattled restaurant chain to work with him last Wednesday, August 1, a day known around the country as Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day.

When the Sergeant arrived at his post at the Southeast patrol, words were exchanged between himself and two female officers.

And while it is unclear who started the argument, police have launched an investigation into the matter.

A department spokesperson says the issue is not whether the sergeant brought the sandwich into the substation, but whether inappropriate comments were exchanged between him and the two female officers while on duty.

The Dallas Police Association, who represents all three of the officers, say they are getting two versions of the story, and while they are neutral on the issue, the association is frustrated by a move made by the department before the investigation was complete.

If you ever want to know what the Islamist believe, you have to listen to (and get translated) what they say in their own language to their own people.

The deception is great.

They will blatantly say one thing in English to the western press and then turn around and say the complete opposite (reality) to their internal press.

MEMRI is a great institute and clips like below are so valuable.

The stage is being set.

Their purpose is clear, in their own words, “finish off the Zionist enterprise.”

Iran’s nuclear program designed to ‘finish off’ Israel, Hezbollah MP says

The entire equation in the Middle East will change, Walid Sakariya tells al-Manar TV

By August 9, 2012, 4:24 pm

Hezbollah MP Walid Sakariya told Lebanese television this week that the nuclear weapon Iran is allegedly developing is intended to annihilate Israel.

In a segment recorded and translated by MEMRI (the Middle East Media Research Institute), Sakariya, also a retired general, told his interviewer on Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV Tuesday that should Iran acquire a nuclear weapon it would serve Syrian as well as Iranian interests, namely the eradication of the Jewish state.

“This nuclear weapon is intended to create a balance of terror with Israel, to finish off the Zionist enterprise, and to end all Israeli aggression against the Arab nation,” Sakariya said.

“The entire equation in the Middle East will change,” he asserted.

Iranian officials typically assert that their controversial nuclear program is meant solely for peaceful purposes.

Google to include people’s Gmail in search results

Aug 8, 6:39 PM (ET)

By MICHAEL LIEDTKE

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Google is creating an information bridge between its influential Internet search engine and its widely used Gmail service in its latest attempt to deliver more personal responses more quickly.

The experimental feature unveiled Wednesday will enable Google’s search engine to mine the correspondence stored within a user’s Gmail account for any data tied to a search request. For example, a query containing the word “Amazon” would pull emails with shipping information sent by the online retailer.

Such Gmail results will typically be shown to the right of the main results, though in some instances, the top of the search page will highlight an answer extracted directly from an email. For example, the request “my flight” will show specific airline information imported from Gmail. Something similar could eventually happen when searching for a restaurant reservation or tickets to a concert.

Sometimes slow change is worst than fast change.  At a minimum it is much more deceptive, we have all experienced it in our daily lives.  It is often found in “stage-setting” for Bible prophecy fulfillment.  Everything falling into place for the eventual fulfillment, but not quite yet.

Daymond Duck does a great job below laying out how this creeping change, stage setting, is occurring right now and more frequently over the last year.

The change is so deceptive that there is almost always something that you did not know was occurring.  The two that caught me this time were:

I didn’t know our sitting president “Barak Obama” said the following back in 2008.

he said, “Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific values.” He was saying Democracy demands that Americans have universal or Global values instead of Christian, Muslim, Hindu or other religion-specific values. He added, “This (Global or non-Christian value or religious system) is going to be difficult for some who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible as many evangelicals do.”

The second item was a move by the UN in June of this year (2012):

In February 2011, the United Nations started pushing interfaith worship. In June 2012, environmentalists in the United Nations called for the Ten Commandments to be rejected (change) and the UN Earth Charter to be accepted as the world’s governing moral code. Supporters hailed this as a new form of religion that is devoid of the notion of a Supreme Being.

Wow, how far we have come and how close we must be to the Lord’s return!

Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth

By Daymond Duck

For years, the EU worked on a constitution. They finally came up with one that omits all references to God and Christianity. Since the EU has been established by the United Nations as the model or pattern (the EU Model) for all other groups of nations to follow, every group of nations, including the group the United States winds up in (NAU), will eventually be expected to have a constitution that omits all references to God and Christianity. If the EU changes its constitution to appoint a new super-president of the EU, as they are now discussing, all of the other groups of nations will be expected to have a super-president. Thus, if there are ten groups of nations, each with a super-president, there will be ten super-presidents in the world (called ten kings or ten horns in the Bible) and the stage will be set for the eleventh one (the Antichrist). He will oppose those who believe in God and say that he is God.

In the United States, people have removed the Ten Commandments from America’s Courthouses and national parks. Some want to take “In God we trust” off of America’s money, “One nation under God” out of America’s pledge, etc.

In 2008, when Senator Obama was running for President of the United States, he said, “Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific values.” He was saying Democracy demands that Americans have universal or Global values instead of Christian, Muslim, Hindu or other religion-specific values. He added, “This (Global or non-Christian value or religious system) is going to be difficult for some who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible as many evangelicals do.”

In essence, the man who was running for President of the United States, and who is now running for re-election, said Christians need to change their values and religious system (what Christians believe about abortion, homosexuality, how to be saved, etc.) to get in line with Global values or a Global religious system. He even acknowledged that this change is going to be difficult for those who believe in the inerrancy of the Scriptures to do this. He seemed to be implying that it is wrong for Christians to believe in the inerrancy of the Scriptures, but those who do need to change to a more universal or Global religion.

If you have not asked Christ into your life, the essential gospel is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and that He was raised on the third day (1 Cor. 15:3-4).  Believing this is the only qualification for salvation.  We are sinners in need of a savior.  Jesus died for our sins, and to prove that His death was sufficient for us,  God raised Him from the dead on the third day. Believing in our heart that God raised Him from the dead is our assurance that He will raise us, too.

The Days of Noe (Noah) = Present Day

The signs are numerous and similarities uncanny.

I have been reading several books on what those days were like, it is stunning.

End-of-Days Violence – Part 1  – 7/29/12 Nearing Midnight Commentary

The most profound foretelling in Bible prophecy is done by the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Great I Am, and no prophet of the Old or New testaments speaks with greater authority. Other prophets speak with authority equal to His, the argument can be made, but only because Jesus gave them the prophetic truth to pass along to the rest of us. It is His prophecy in the first place.

Despite the tremendous importance of and power manifested in Jesus’ Olivet Discourse, the earliest part of that reporting of end-times matters takes second place to another area of prophecy, as far as we are concerned today, in my view. I find Christ’s words in the following passages to be the most relevant to this very hour in which this generation finds itself:

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” (Luke 17: 26-30)

As many who read these commentaries are aware, I consider this to be the most relevant prophecy to our time because of specific factors. Jesus was prophesying here about exactly how things will be in culture and society upon the earth at the time He intervenes catastrophically into the affairs of mankind. He said in these and other similar passages that things would be pretty much normal for the times, so far as human activity is concerned, at the time of His thief in the night interjection into earth’s history. People will be eating, drinking, buying, selling, building, marrying, planting, and doing other things that seem to be normal activities at the time He breaks in and reveals himself.

I have been doing a lot of research into the days of Noah recently and hope to write a few articles about it.

The “Darkness” and violence was one of the key signs of the time and the decline of human civilization.

There is no where you turn that you don’t see it.  And it’s not just that there is violence, it how real we have made it with CGI and media.

It was one thing for Bugs Bunny to hit Elmer Fudd on the head, we could distinguish between cartoon and reality, but now there is no distinction.  It is hard for us to tell what is real and what is not.  Our eyes are deceived!

Descending into Darkness – 7/29/12 Nearing Midnight Commentary

I have been watching as little as possible of the news coverage related to the shooting in Aurora, Colorado. I realize it is a major news story, but I’m just sick of the fact that the emotional outcry is simply a cut and paste from a long line of other mass-murder shootings. Everyone is shocked by the event, but nothing is changed by it.

The world was just a few days short of the first anniversary of the massacre in Norway. Anders Behring Breivik murdered 77 people, and a year later they are still in the process of deciding his fate. Since Breivik can only serve a maximum sentence of 21 years in Norway, with time severed, he’ll be a free man in two decades.

The liberal media wasted no time trying to blame the shooting on a conservative group. ABC News’ chief investigative reporter Brian Ross said, “There is a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea Party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year.”

There was no effort of the part of Ross to contact the organization to verify if Jim Holmes was the shooter. The press must have some secret policy that gives any reporter the right to initially pin mass murder on any conservative of their choosing. The same thing happened last year, right after U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was shot. Jared Loughner was tied to the Tea Party, but in fact, he had liberal viewpoints.

Using the same standards that Brian Ross uses for reporting, one can uncover some serious charges against him. If you Google Brian (more…)

I pulled these headlines just from the last 3 days.

These prophecy events are becoming more and more common and as some of the articles suggest, maybe the new norm.

I am seeing a 6.0 or greater earthquake almost every day, it use to be maybe one a month…

_________________________________________________________________

Largest Dust Storms in a Century Roll Back into Dust Bowl
According to meteorologists, the huge dust storms are becoming more frequent, forming during the monsoon season from June until the end of September. This summer’s dust storms are the worst to have hit since the massive “Dust Bowl” disaster that struck the Midwest in the 1930s. At that time, more than 100 million acres of topsoil were stripped from the land when the strong winds struck in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Massive storms gathered up the drought-parched topsoil and dumped it into the Atlantic Ocean, destroying the land for future farming, and creating the “Dust Bowl” region.

6.6-magnitude earthquake hits off Papua New Guinean island
Tsunami warning centers in the region said there was no threat of a tsunami from the earthquake, which was initially measured as having a magnitude of 6.6. “No destructive widespread tsunami threat exists based on historical earthquake and tsunami data,” the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said in a bulletin.

6.0 quake strikes near Guatemala-Mexico border
A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Guatemala near the country’s border with Mexico Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Local agencies offered different assessments of the quake, which occurred at 6:22 a.m. (8:22 a.m. ET).

Ebola outbreak in Uganda kills 13
An outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus has killed 13 people in Uganda and efforts are under way to contain the hemorrhagic fever, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Saturday. There is no treatment and no vaccine against Ebola, which is transmitted by close personal contact and, depending on the strain, kills up to 90 percent of those who contract the virus.

Chronic drought to become commonplace, scientists warn
The four-year-long drought that affected western Canada and the U.S. at the turn of the century was the worst to hit the region in 800 years, say scientists who warn that dry spell was nothing compared to the “megadroughts” still to come.

Grain prices threaten growth – except in Canada’s breadbasket
Grain prices, which are hitting record highs as crop failures ripple around the globe, are likely to remain strong for at least three more years, the World Bank says, threatening to push the price of nutritious food beyond the reach of the world’s poorest citizens. While the massive drought in the United States has garnered a lot of attention, the situation is made worse by a shortage of rain that has damaged wheat crops in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. India’s monsoon rainfall is also about 20 per cent below average, hurting crop prospects in the world’s second-most-populous country, while excessive rain is pinching farm producers in many European countries.

Deadly Seal Flu Virus Poses Threat To Humans
The strain is closely related to one that has been circulating in North American birds since 2002. But unlike the bird strain, it has adapted to living in mammals. It has also evolved mutations known to ease transmission and cause more severe symptoms. Specifically, the virus has the ability to target a protein found in human lungs. Dr Anne Moscona, from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, who led the researchers, said: “There is a concern that we have a new mammalian-transmissible virus to which humans haven’t been exposed yet. “It’s a combination we haven’t seen in disease before.”

Weather station temperature claims are overheated, report claims
Global warming believer-turned-skeptic Anthony Watts, a former TV meteorologist, posted a new report online questioning the reliability of weather stations in the U.S. Historical Climatology Network, a 120-year-old weather system that forms one tent pole of climate measurements. As the country has evolved, building urban metropolises and airports and pouring parking lots, the weather stations haven’t moved — and poorly cited stations are spoiling the data.

Uganda says avoid handshakes as Ebola returns
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Monday advised people to avoid shaking hands, casual sex and do-it-yourself burials to reduce the chance of contracting the deadly Ebola virus after an outbreak killed 14 people and put many more at risk.

Drought and wild fires destroy Russian harvest
Russia is currently in the grips of an extremely strong heat wave. City and town residents are suffocating from the sweltering heat. For example, it is about 30 degrees in Moscow with prospects of the thermometer going up in the next few days. The heat wave situation is aggravated by wild fires producing clouds of poisonous smoke.

Japan heat wave death toll rises to 30
At least 30 people have already died due to extreme heat in Japan, with more than 8,000 others rushed to hospital, including elderly people.

Heat record broken Monday
The mercury rose to over 30 degrees Celsius for the first time this summer in eastern Finland as meteorologists warned of severe thunderstorms later in the day.

Little Rock, Ar. hits third highest temperature ever recorded: 111 F
Triple-digit heat intensified across Arkansas on Monday, setting records in at least two cities and increasing the danger for wildfires. Temperatures exceeded 100 in some areas, and are expected to stick around for much of the week. Low humidity also is settling in, increasing the threat for wildfires.

Corn Ratings Worsen as U.S. Midwest Drought Expands: USDA
The condition of the U.S. corn crop worsened for an eighth straight week amid the worst Midwest drought in a generation. Soybean ratings also fell. About 24 percent of the corn was in good or excellent condition as of yesterday, down from 26 percent a week earlier and 77 percent in mid-May, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said today in a report.

Todd does a good job laying out what we are seeing today and how that links to prophecy.  The days of Noah and the Days of Lot were cruel and evil times.  Are we seeing that these days?  Has it gotten worst?

Paul also laid out in his letters what it would be like in the last days when he laid out what men in the last days would lust after and gravitate toward.

This world is slipping down a slope…

Schadenfreude World

I read somewhere that there is no word in the English language that describes a person who enjoys the misfortunes of other people. We have plenty of adjectives like “cruel,” “evil,” and “sadistic” that we can apply to someone’s nature, but we lack an appropriate noun. To find a word that fits the bill, we have turn to the German language for the word “Schadenfreude.”

The folks at Merriam-Webster need to find a word we can call our own because we live in a world that thrives on Schadenfreude. It has become the core foundation of much of what passes for entertainment, and I think this mindset is doing major damage to the moral fabric of our society.

Television has become so fractured that networks have been forced to turn to the cheapest forms of programming to fill their daily schedules. One of the most cost-effective formats is a show that features videos of people making fools out of themselves. One of the pioneers of this field is America’s Funniest Home Videos, which first aired as a special on November 26, 1989, and is now in its twenty-second season.

Muslim Brotherhood’s Egyptian Presidential Candidate: ‘Jihad Is Our Path & Death In the Name of Allah Is Our Goal’

There’s been plenty of drama leading up to Egypt’s presidential elections later this month. But in addition to the infighting and violence, there is an overarching fear surrounding who will assume the presidency. In the post-Hosni Mubarak world, some fear that radical Islamist ideals will overtake the nation, leading to increased hostility and volatility. And a recent comment about “jihad” from Mohammed Mursi, a top candidate being touted by the Muslim Brotherhood, will only add to worries.

Mohammed Mursi of Muslim Brotherhood Calls for Sharia & Jihad in Egypt

Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate Mohammed Morsi

According to The Voice of Russia, an international media outlet owned by the Russian government, Mursi is calling for a Constitution that is based on the Koran and sharia law.

(Related: Egyptian Cleric Claims Muslim Brotherhood Presidential Candidate Will Make Jerusalem ‘The Capital of the Caliphate’)

“The Koran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal,” Mursi apparently said in an election speech at Cairo University on Saturday evening. “Today we can establish Sharia law because our nation will acquire well-being only with Islam and Sharia. The Muslim Brothers and the Freedom and Justice Party will be the conductors of these goals.” (more…)

His article below sums up precisely what I have been feeling.  It is well worth the read and time to ponder the message.

At Sodom’s Gate

My mind is impressed, as the day of Israel’s sixty-fourth birth into the modern era arrives, that God’s dealing with man seems about to make full circle. By that, I mean that the Book given to humanity that is his love letter and His manual for living life on this planet, given through His chosen nation, opens, in my spiritual mind, to the pages of the time of Lot and his life in Sodom.

It seems to me that we can sense, if we consider the headlines today, the angels of judgment at the gates of our own nation. Are they there, sent by the Lord of Heaven, after having entertained the efforts of God’s servants–like Abraham those thousands of years ago—to find, percentage-wise, ten righteous people who have a heart for the things of the Lord?

Israel is the prototype nation–i.e., all successive nations have had Israel to use as a template of how to act, not act, react, and conduct the affairs within the human conditions of their time in the spotlight of history. We are at just such a time of examination, in my estimation, of our own much blessed country.

It is striking to me that a first-time author has hit it big with a book that deals almost precisely with the premise of this commentary. The Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn uses just such a template to dissect the Almighty’s dealings with Israel as juxtaposed against the recent history of America.

This isn’t a review of that book, so I won’t say a great deal about it. Suffice it to say that I find the relevant points of similarities between the two nations quite remarkable, as presented by the author. I recall my own opening remarks in a book written not long after the attacks on the U.S. of September 11, 2001, as I reflect on what Mr. Cahn has written.

Television screens across America and the world repeatedly flashed videotape of the huge passenger jet crashing full-throttle into the enormous building. Dazed people watched in awestruck disbelief while trapped victims leaped from the building’s top floors, some holding hands with others when they jumped. The massive twin towers disintegrated and crumbled to flaming rubble. It was the most heinous terrorist attack ever recorded. Almost immediately, angry, frightened people began demanding answers to the insanity now forever etched in their memories. Many churches were filled the Sunday following the attacks in New York and Washington, D.C. There was an instinctive sense that those murderous acts of terrorism were somehow foreordained. That the carnage now known as “Ground Zero” and the uncertain future is, in some troubling way, linked by prophetic destiny. (Prophecy at Ground Zero: From Today’s Middle East Madness to the Second Coming of Christ.)

The author of The Harbinger reaches much of the same sorts of conclusions as did the authors who collaborated with me in our book, released in 2002. He gets much more specific about Ground Zero in Lower East Manhattan than did we, providing some really chilling similarities between things written in prophecy about Israel and their fulfillment, and what has happened in America since that fateful 9/11 date. He does a credible job of postulating–with strong scriptural backing—on how the U.S. judgment looks to have begun taking place in earnest at the time the towers fell on September 11, 2001.

The bottom line is that events just this past week bring home in an almost eerie way that the angels of judgment must be at the very gates of our own nation. We have long recounted the many signals of impending prophetic fulfillment. The nation Israel is at the center of hatred in the U.N.; the reviving Roman Empire is rearranging daily into prophetic configuration; the “Roadmap to Peace” plan is being pushed to make Israel conform to the wishes of the international community; the world is moving swiftly toward one world–especially toward global economy that threatens to bring the dollar down and install some sort of electronic funds transfer system.

As if that weren’t enough evidence of where we stand on God’s prophetic timeline, there is Russia, Iran, Turkey, and the whole Islamic world coming together in a way that indicates the Gog-Magog prophecy of Ezekiel 38-39 is shaping for soon fulfillment. China represents a growing hegemonic threat not only in all of Asia, but in the whole world, economically speaking.

And now, astonishingly, the first sitting president of the United States in history, on the heels of his vice president first doing so, puts America directly at the gates of Sodom with his declaration that marriage should be made legal as between a man and a man and a woman and a woman. That is, it would indeed be astonishing—except that the U.S. citizenry have been desensitized by years of news and entertainment media inculcation, putting forward the idea that there is no difference between heterosexual and homosexual relationships. So, where at one time–no more than a decade ago—an incumbent president proposing such a thing would have sealed his own defeat, we now have no way of knowing if it will adversely affect his election chances.

Again, we hear the words of Jesus echo in forewarning of when He will next catastrophically intervene into earth’s history: “Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed” (Luke 17:28-30).
