I don’t understand why more ministers and churches talk about prophecy.

It is so inspiring and reassuring that we believe in the One True God.

It affirms our faith and makes us stronger.

There is loads of information given as well as very good context.

I especially like the end of the 3rd and 4th segment.  When he talks about the fiery furnace from Daniel as a picture of end times prophecy and also what the true test of belief in True Christ is that Jesus is God.

What can I say to this but Wow!

Many prophecy scholars have theorized about what role, aliens or UFO’s could play in rationalizing or explaining away coming end times events.  But when I saw this article, it struck me that the infrastructure was being laid to have the necessary pieces in place.

I still can’t get over how much this reflects the Hollywood movies we have grown up on.

Sometimes I wonder if some people get confused between reality and cinema.  Things have gotten so real these days with CG I, that you can’t believe your eyes as to what is real and what is computer generated.  That has blurred the lines and I think a lot of the movies we see coming out, are moving the window of acceptability or plausibility so that the general public will quickly buy into the deception they will be fed to cover up coming end time events.

We must be watchful, and continue to wake people up, turning them back to God…

U.N. Appoints ‘First Contact’ for Visiting Space Aliens

The United Nations is set to appoint an obscure Malaysian astrophysicist to act as Earth’s first contact for any aliens that may come visiting.

Mazlan Othman, the head of the U.N.’s little-known Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa), will describe her potential new role next week at a scientific conference at the Royal Society’s Kavli conference center in Buckinghamshire, England.

She will tell delegates that the recent discovery of hundreds of planets around other stars has made the detection of extraterrestrial life more likely than ever before — and that means the U.N. must be ready to coordinate humanity’s response to any “first contact.”

It is amazing how deep the Bible is and how much reassurance it can give us if we just look and listen.

It has so many layers that are reveled as you read it more and more.  Also, learning the audiences and Jewish traditions helps uncover jewels like this.

I hope this article brings peace to your heart.

Trust in the Lord, He is coming back for us!

He promised and He always keeps His promises.

THE FOLDED NAPKIN

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes.

The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes.

Promise of His Coming

A biblically prophetic reality that perfectly fits our present day, and that has been looked at a number of times, is the forewarning given by the apostle Peter especially to the generation alive at the end of the Church Age:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of his coming?” for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. (2 Pet 3:3-4)

Almost in every case of looking at this prophecy, the point has been exclusively dwelt upon that both the religious and non-religious of the world mockingly chide those of us who believe Jesus Christ will return to planet Earth. This is a prophecy that has observably come to pass in our time.

However, it is the phrase “promise of his coming” I would like to consider here, rather than the chiding sarcasm of the mockers.

For those that have not read Atlas Shrugged, it was set in a very similar situation.

All of the producers and successful people were vilified and shut down through government intervention, regulation, or other backroom deals, always for the “good of the people”.  So they just started disappearing?  Decided to leave.

This is a great article below of what we are doing to our country.  Anytime you have 50% of the country not paying any taxes and 2% paying more than the other 98% something is seriously wrong.

Will we see an exodus, it is still yet to be seen, but the fact that more and more people are becoming vocal about it, is surely a sign.

America is not mentioned in the end times, our economic might will have fallen.  Could we be exporting it?

From a different angle, we can imagine what would happen to our society if all of the economic producers left.  What do you think will happen, when all of the “moral” producers (restrainers) leave (are taken)?  What would the world be like?

America: Love it or (if you’re rich enough) leave it?

Glen Esnard, a Newport Beach executive for real estate services firm Grubb & Ellis, went to bat in the Wall Street Journal last week for high-income-earners who believe it’s unfair that their tax rates should rise on Jan. 1, as President Obama proposes.

Esnard also suggested that the answer might be for the better-heeled to find a new country.

So for some reason this headline on fox caught my eye, something just drew me to read it.  And I am glad I did, the story is very different from the headline.  And I was taken back at how it is being treated.

This exact same story could have been told a lot different and not strayed from the stated facts.  Now, I am not supporting or condemning the actions of this group, just using it as an example of how things are starting to change/transition.

Those that believe in the inerrant word of the Bible, fundamentalists, those that believe in the end times, are going to be shifted to ‘cult’ or ‘cult-like’ in the not so distant future, in fact you could argue they already are by the existence of this story.

The two areas that struck me the most were first when the article’s author stated that:

“…they were awaiting the Rapture, which some Christians believe is an event during which they will be gathered together in the air and reunited with Christ.”

Some, not most, or almost all, or fundamentalists.  Only some Christians believe.  This article really drives home a glimpse of what it may be like after the “event” that evidently only “some” Christians believe will occur.

Second, was how they described the group.

Chicas apparently had formed her own religious group, Parker said. About 12 to 15 people would gather at her home in Palmdale, a high-desert city of 139,000, and one night about a week ago, they didn’t leave until 2 a.m., said neighbor Cheri Kofahl.

“We’ve got a group here that’s practicing some orthodox and some unorthodox Christianity,” Parker said. “Obviously this falls under the unorthodox.”

Others who knew Chicas said she was devout but hardly fanatic in her religious beliefs.

So let me get this right.  We have about 12 to 15 people gathering in a woman’s home to study the bible at night and staying late occasionally.  And that is considered practicing unorthodox Christianity?

Normally that would be called a bible study in the US, or in other countries that would be called the house church.  How many disciples did Jesus have?  Twelve, and where did they meet most of the time?  Oh, in people’s houses at night over a meal.

How far have we strayed as a world?  Can you feel the shift?

Great article, with some context around the different meanings of tribulation in the Bible and how they relate to the coming rapture.  Another good point he reminds us of at the end, is that the Bible is meant to be read literally and how important context can be.

There Is No Seven Year Tribulation by Jack Kelly

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NKJV)

“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matt. 24:21 NKJV)

Every now and then I get a question from someone who says even though the pre-trib position seems to make sense scripturally, they can’t accept it because Jesus said we would have tribulation in this world, and that must mean the church will go through at least the first part of the Tribulation. When they say this they’re thinking of the first 3 ½ years.

Let’s get this straight.  There is no mention anywhere in the Bible of a seven year tribulation. According to Strong’s Concordance the Greek word translated tribulation in these two passages appears 45 times in the New Testament and tribulation is the English word of choice in  21 of them, including the two above.  It comes from a root meaning “to press” as grapes are pressed.  When used metaphorically it can mean oppression, affliction, tribulation, distress, hardship, or trouble.  But while tribulation is the word that appears in both these verses, their intent is completely different.

What Does That Mean?

In John 16:33 Jesus said, in effect, that becoming a believer doesn’t mean your troubles are over. Troubles are characteristic of this world and as long as you’re in it you’ll have them.  But He has overcome this world and through faith in Him you will over come it too.

Great Article discussing the “Days of Noah” prophecy as well as the Rapture.

____________________________________________________________

As It Was In The Days Of Noah by Jack Kelly

As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man (Matt 24:37). The time leading up to the Great Flood was a lot like our time today in that it was characterized by a deliberate and escalating disregard for the ways of God. Finally “the Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time” (Gen. 6:5).

What Day Is This?

If you plot the lifespans of the patriarchs in Genesis 5, you’ll discover it was 1656 years from Adam’s creation to the Great Flood.  During that time mankind had degenerated from human beings created in the very image of God who walked and talked with Him to a race whose thoughts and actions were totally depraved and bent only on evil (Gen. 6:5).

It’s been about 1977 years since man was first given the choice to be re-created by events at the Cross (2 Cor 5:17) but most of today’s world has declined.  As a result, a single look around us is all that’s needed to see that from a spiritual and moral perspective life today is becoming pretty much “as it was in the days of Noah”.

What Planet Are You From?

I’ve made mention in previous articles of the mysterious people in Genesis 6:4 called the Nephillim.   They were the offspring of marriages between angelic beings and earthlings. Would these beings with super natural strength (origin of the titans or demi-gods in mythology) be called aliens today? In many documented alien encounters there seems to be a great interest on their part in our reproductive system. Are aliens using humans to breed a super race again? In the King James rendering of Daniel 2:43 there’s a curious reference to someone “mingling themselves with the seed of men” in the last days. Is the anti-Christ part alien or in command of beings that are part alien and part human? As it was in the days of Noah?

Out Of The Way

But in all my years of study comparing the days of Noah with the end of the age one insight has recently made things much clearer to me. In Genesis 6:3 God warned of the removal of His Spirit from Earth before the coming judgment. Some see this passage as capping man’s life span at 120 years, but that can’t be its purpose.  In Psalm 90:10we’re told that an average man’s life span is 70 years, and Isaiah 23:15 supports this conclusion.  Average life spans before the flood were much longer than 120 years, and after the flood soon became much shorter.  Looking at the Genesis lifespans again shows that Shem, probably the last pre-flood man, outlived 8 of the first 9 post flood generations of his descendants, including Abraham.

The fact is that 120 years was the time God gave man to prepare for the coming judgment. He said He was going to remove His Spirit from the earth prior to that judgment.   In 2 Thes 2:7 a similar warning is given concerning the end of the age (but without a deadline), and there is confusion over it’s interpretation just as with Gen. 6:3. The only truly literal interpretation of this passage is that sometime before the anti-Christ can be revealed in all his power beginning the Great Tribulation, the restraining force of the Holy Spirit must be taken out of the way (literally out of the midst, or from among).

Then as I was reading Genesis 6 again, the most remarkable thing happened. In my Bible Genesis 6:3 is in the right hand column about 1 inch down the page. I’ve had it high lighted for years.  In the left hand column directly across from Genesis 6:3 is another verse I highlighted some time ago.

It’s Genesis 5:24 and reads; Enoch walked with God and then he was no more because God took him away. Seeing those two high lighted verses side by side like that caused the sequence of events to suddenly become so obvious to me, I don’t know why I hadn’t seen it before.  First Enoch was taken alive from earth and the Holy Spirit was withdrawn. Then in Gen. 6:5 man’s behavior is described as having become unbearably wicked and in Gen. 7 the judgment came, in that order.

Enoch’s name means teaching and according to Jude 14-15 he gave the first prophecy of the 2nd coming. Hebrew tradition holds that he was born on the 6th day of Sivan on the Hebrew calendar and was taken by God on his birthday. The 6th of Sivan is the day we know as Pentecost, the birthday of the Church. For these reasons Enoch is often seen as a model or type of the church, whose calling is also to teach the world the ways of the Lord and to talk about His coming.

You Promised You Wouldn’t Do That

The Bible declares that the Holy Spirit is sealed within believers as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance (Ephes. 1:13-14). Paul wrote that the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn from earth sometime before the anti- Christ is allowed to trigger the judgment known as the Great Tribulation (2 Thes. 2:7).

Withdrawing the Holy Spirit with out removing the Church would break God’s promise to us since it would require “unsealing” the Holy spirit from within us. That’s something that God can’t do. “What I have said, that will I bring about,” He declares.  “What I have planned, that will I do.”(Isaiah 46:11)

If Enoch is indeed a model of the church and if the Lord’s prophecy of Matt 24:37 is meant to describe the sequence of end times events, as seems likely, then one day soon we will be taken alive (raptured) from earth like Enoch was, and the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn. Man’s behavior will quickly become unbearably wicked and the judgment will come, all in that order.  As it was in the days of Noah. Selah 08-21-10.

Rapture

Frank posted a segment of his Blog today on the Rapture and the scripture predicting it.  I thought it was very good so here it is…

_____________________________________________________________

See full size image Here is another thing to consider. What do you think would happen to the world’s economic system if Jesus came today to take out all of His Children?  The world would be tossed into instant chaos like never seen in the history of mankind.Think about it. Millions upon millions of people from all over the world suddenly gone. World leaders gone, military men and woman gone, government works, gone, farmers, school teachers, business men and woman gone, people from all walks of life suddenly gone!  Someone is going to have to step up to the plate and bring order to the world again and who do you think that person is going to be?  You better know right now who it will be because if you miss the Lord’s rapture you will see this person for yourself.  It will be the man Jesus warned you about in Rev. 13: 16-17.

Look I am a realist, I know many of you will keep saying I am crazy to even suggest millions of people someday will suddenly vanish, but God’s Word has never failed, and it is going to take place just as it is written in His Word. 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

For those of you who will write me about the last trump and tell me this is the trump in the Book of Revelation let me point out the one in 1 Corinthians is not the same one in Revelation.

Those who teach that the Church must go through the Great Tribulation and face the wrath of God which is coming upon the earth try to identify the last trump of 1Corinthians 15 with the seventh trumpet in the Book of Rev.  I see great difficulties in paralleling these two trumpets.

First of all, the trumpet that sounds at the time of the Rapture of the Church in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 is call the “trump of God.”  In Rev. the seventh trumpet is the trumpet of the seventh angel. The trump of 1 Corinthians 15 is used to proclaim an event that happens in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye.  Paul said, “I’ll show you a mystery. We’ll not all sleep, but we’ll be changed in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump.” On the other hand, the seventh trump of the Book of Revelation will cover a period of days (plural) of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as He hath declared to His servants the prophets.”

The last trump of 1 Corinthians 15 and 1 Thessalonians 4 will be a trumpet of glory. We shall be changed and made into His image and caught up to meet the Lord in the air. However, the seventh trumpet of the Book of Revelation is continually referred to as a woe.  There is no way the trump in Revelation is the same as the one in 1 Corinthians.

This is an interesting article.  When ever I hear peace talks with Israel, my mind clicks to the Bible Prophecy concerning a peace treaty which will be signed between Israel and the Antichrist.  It will be for seven years of peace and security.  At the midpoint, the peace will be broken by the Antichrist, as he declares himself god in the rebuilt Jewish temple. (I am not saying we know the identity of the Antichrist, but you will know when the seven-year treaty is signed.)

Daniel 9:27 – “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”  (In the Bible years are often spoken of as weeks, so one week would equal 7 years.)

A couple of things that also caught my eye in this article where the fact that Peace talks will begin on September 2nd with a summit hosted by Barack Obama.  The Quartet thinks it can achieve an agreement within 12 months.

The reason this is significant is that if you follow the Jewish feasts, September is the time for the Rosh Hashanah (Feast of the Trumpets).  If you study the Jewish Feasts, you realize that Christ has fulfilled each feast up to Rosh Hashanah.  There are four feasts remaining that are yet to be fulfilled, and are believed to be related to our current age and the end times.

God’s word when speaking of the Rapture, talks about a trumpet sounding and Christ gathering his church in the clouds.  Rosh Hashanah is the Feast of Trumpets, the first fall feast, and the “Jewish New Year”.  It is also, never known until the day of the Feast which day it will fall on since it is based on the new moon.  (Today, Jews actually celebrate it on two days unlike any other feast because it is so hard to determine when it starts.)

Once the new moon is seen, a trumpet is sounded and all of the Jews stop what they are doing and go to worship.  It was common to have Jews and non-jews working side by side in the fields, and when the trumpet sounded, the Jews would stop what they were doing and the non-jews would continue working.  Sound familiar to any other scripture we have heard?

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 – “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 – “Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last TRUMP: for the TRUMPET shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Now I am not saying that there is a specific day known on which the Rapture will occur, but it is very interesting study that the Feast of Trumpets, some year soon, may be the time….  The key is for us to remain watchful and the timing should not matter.

Rosh Hashanah will occur on the following days of the Gregorian calendar:

  • Jewish Year 5771: sunset September 8, 2010 – nightfall September 10, 2010
  • Jewish Year 5772: sunset September 28, 2011 – nightfall September 30, 2011
  • Jewish Year 5773: sunset September 16, 2012 – nightfall September 18, 2012

Another piece of data, if you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, which I do, then the rapture would have to occur before the signing of the seven-year peace treaty, since that would signal the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week (the seven-year tribulation).

JERUSALEM | Fri Aug 20, 2010 8:39am EDT

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – A Middle East treaty creating a Palestinian state at peace with Israel can be completed in one year of negotiations, said major powers who were due on Friday to invite both parties to start talks in two weeks.

A diplomatic source in the United States said the Quartet of world powers engaged in Middle East peace-making had agreed on the details of the invitation on Thursday and would issue it formally on Friday.

Israeli and Palestinian officials said they expected to see the statement and U.S. invitation by the end of the day.

“We are waiting to see the formulation of the American invitation draft. Our position remains that we don’t want preconditions,” an Israeli official said.

A Palestinian official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “If the statement meets what we are calling for, we will say yes of course.”

The Palestinians were focused on the statement they expect from the Quartet — the United States, European Union, Russia and the United Nations — which would set out terms of reference for the talks. Negotiations would begin with a summit hosted by President Barack Obama on Sept 2.

A draft statement that was being discussed by the partners on Thursday says 12 months should be sufficient. A Quartet statement in June said a deal could be concluded in 24 months.
