More wars and rumors of wars…

Matthew 24:4-8 (NIV) – “4Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.”

Jordan’s king warns of war by year’s end

In Daily Show interview, Abdullah says if issue of settlement construction freeze is not resolved, violent conflict could break out by end of 2010. He also criticizes Iranian involvement, saying Palestinian issue ‘hijacked by non-Arab elements’

In line with US President Barack Obama’s speech, the Jordanian king stressed that there was no other regional crisis with a greater influence on global security and stability. There is no other crisis which has been on the UN’s agenda longer or has frustrated peace makers more, he said.

Peace talks deadlocked as settlement freeze nears end

American negotiators holding intense discussions with Israelis and the Palestinians, but both parties remain locked in their positions.

The freeze on construction in West Bank settlements is due to end in less than 24 hours, potentially creating a crisis that could halt direct negotiations with the Palestinian Authority, and there is still no solution in sight.

American negotiators have been holding intense discussions with the Israelis and the Palestinians, but the parties are still locked in their positions.

The Americans are focusing their pressure on trying to get Israel to continue the construction moratorium.

This is one area to look out for.  God warned anyone who tried to divide Jerusalem would feel his judgement.  This Holy Basin under international trusteeship, is working to do just that as well as the more obvious two-states peace process.  It will be interesting to see how and when they merge.

Zechariah 12:3 (KJV) – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

Genesis 12:2-4 (NIV) – “2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

In genesis, he was speaking of the Father of the future tribes of Israel…

Olmert urges ‘int’l trusteeship’ for Holy Basin

In ‘Post’ op-ed former PM sets out terms Israel should present to ‘transform’ talks – relinquishing sovereignty over Western Wall, Temple Mt.

Israel should agree to an international trusteeship in Jerusalem’s Holy Basin, should allow non-Jewish neighborhoods of Jerusalem to serve as the capital of a Palestinian state, and should offer to solve the Palestinian refugee problem within the framework of the Arab peace initiative, former prime minister Ehud Olmert urges in an op-ed article in today’s Jerusalem Post.

“If [Israel] takes a clear stance on these issues and presents them as its position for the negotiations,” Olmert writes, it would “transform the atmosphere” surrounding the direct talks with the Palestinian Authority.

Great study on the confirming of the seven-year peace agreement…

_________________________________________________________________

Confirming The Covenant

He will confirm the covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’  he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. (Daniel 9:27)

Judah’s King Hezekiah had become deathly ill during the reign of the Assyrian King Sennacherib.  But when he prayed for recovery the Lord agreed to extend his life by 15 years, confirming His promise to defeat the King of Assyria at the same time.  As a sign of this confirmation, He had Hezekiah watch as the shadow caused by the sun reversed course and went back up 10 steps on the stairway of Ahaz (Isaiah 38:1-8).

It is said in the last days all countries of the world will turn against Jerusalem, Israel.

They will be come a burdensome stone, meaning that city and its boundaries will be a problem to all nations.

This is what Obama is calling for here.  That all countries, world-wide, get behind his plan of two states for two people.

Who’s side do you think they lean toward in the end?

Zechariah 12:3 (KJV) – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

We really have no idea what the Israelis have to deal with.

Can you imagine someone getting the death penalty for selling you land?

No wonder tensions are so high…

PA affirms death penalty for land sales to Israelis

The PA says the land law is necessary to prevent the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Authority on Sunday reaffirmed the death penalty for any Palestinian found guilty of selling land to Israelis.

The decision came in response to a ruling by a Palestinian court according to which such acts were only a “minor offense.”

PA Prosecutor-General Ahmed al-Mughni appealed against the ruling to a higher court, arguing that the sale of land to Israelis was a “major offense” punishable by death.

The appeal was accepted.

Mideast officials fly to US as talks crisis looms

Top Israeli and Palestinian officials on Sunday headed for the United States where they were expected to seek ways to break a deadlock over settlements which is threatening to sabotage peace talks.

Israeli President Shimon Peres left shortly after midnight on a four-day visit to coincide with the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, and a few hours later Defence Minister Ehud Barak set off for talks in Washington.

Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, currently in Amman, was also to fly to New York on Sunday evening for the annual sitting, with efforts under way to arrange a meeting with US President Barack Obama, a senior Palestinian official told AFP.

“There are also preparations for a meeting between (Israeli premier Benjamin) Netanyahu, Obama and Abbas,” he said. “There is an expectation that they will meet.”

Netanyahu’s office said he had no plans to fly to the United States this week, and would not say whether he would meet Abbas before the settlements freeze expires later this month.

Gov’t rejects extended freeze, despite heavy pressure

PA official tells ‘Post’ he has ‘no explanation’ for US optimism; Mubarak: I told PM not to restart building, but he said he had no choice.

Despite considerable pressure from both the US and Egypt to continue the settlement construction moratorium for another three months, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s senior ministers, a forum known as the septet, decided this week not to extend the freeze.

The Lord has made me a watchmen for His people and Jesus knows I am pouring out my heart to Him for you all. Sept. 17, 2010

1″The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head.”  Ezekiel 33:1-4

7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.”

Peace process update, rough waters, but remaining surprisingly focused for all of the tension and violence surrounding effort.

God predicted that Jerusalem would be the center of the worlds focus in the last days.

The prophet Zechariah foresaw this event centuries ago:

“I will make Jerusalem and Judah like an intoxicating drink to all the nearby nations that send their armies to besiege Jerusalem. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone, a burden for the world. None of the nations who try to lift it will escape unscathed.” Zechariah 12:2-3 (NLT)

Since 1967 when the Israelis retook Jerusalem in the Six Day War, the division of Jerusalem and ownership of the Temple Mount in particular, have been a source of countless U.N. resolutions, diplomatic crises, and calls for war.

Is it not even more so today?  It has not always been this way…

US says talks progress, Palestinians threaten walk-out

The United States said Israeli and Palestinian leaders on Wednesday moved toward resolving their row over settlements but the Palestinians kept up the threat to walk out of the new peace talks.

In negotiations brokered by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas were having a “serious and substantive” discussion, US envoy George Mitchell said.

Further escalation continues in parallel with peace talks.  It is now known that Hamas used phosphorous in two of the bombs which is considered a war crime, which is obviously not being applied to Hamas.

These events will eventually lead to the Psalm 83 war.

The Peace talks success runs counter to the prophecy of the Psalms 83 war.

The majority if not all the players are at the table and waiting….

Expert: Complaint Against Hamas War Crimes is Futile

Israel is still reeling from the firing of two phosphorous bombs at its territory from Gaza on Tuesday – a war crime under international law.

The IDF confirmed on Wednesday that the onslaught of ten mortar shells and two Kassam rockets fired at Israel the day before from Gaza included two phosphorous bombs. Police sources said three of the shells were phosphorous. Following the barrage, the Israel Air Force struck back, leading to the death of an Arab arms smugger in one of the many tunnels leading from Egypt to Gaza.

IDF kills Hamas military commander in West Bank

IDF says strongman ran towards soldiers in threatening manner, ignored requests to stop, resulting in him being shot.

IDF soldiers killed a Hamas military commander overnight Thursday during security operations east of the West Bank city of Tulkarm, the IDF spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement on Friday morning.

The statement said that the Hamas member, Iyad Abu Shalabiya, ran towards IDF soldiers in a threatening manner, and had ignored the IDF’s requests to cease his approach, resulting in him being shot.

Miltary sources said that Shalabiya spent several years in Israeli prisons and was wanted for questioning.

Twelve other suspects were arrested during the raid

The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

The shooting comes two days after 10 rockets and mortar shells – including two containing phosphorus – were fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip as defense officials predicted that the violence would quiet down after Succot.

Rockets and shells pounded the Eshkol region throughout the day. One of the rockets – a 122-mm. Katyusha – hit just north of Ashkelon. No injuries or damage were reported.
