Strong Delusion…

I really can not think of any reason why we would be jumping through the mental hoops in explaining such a simple concept.

This must be another example of the strong delusion that will over take the world in the last days.

How can you possibly make so many excuses and ignore so many facts?

It is really a head shaker. I am so glad I know the Lord and the Truth! How cloudy everything has become these days…

The White House won’t be calling jihadists adherents to “radical Islam.” At least, that’s the reasonable take away from this extraordinary exchange the White House press secretary had today with a reporter:

Q I just want to go back to your statement about the extremists want to incite a religious war against Islam and they failed. There have been a lot of questions raised about why you have chosen not to associate yourself with the language that was used by the French President when he said we’re at war with radical Islam, and instead you have chosen a formulation where you say you want to capture individuals who commit violence based on their warped view of Islam. Is the reason you don’t want to call it “radical Islam” or use the word “war” because you’re afraid of playing into the extremists’ desires to incite a religious war on Islam? Is that the reason you’ve gone to great lengths to come up with this different formulation?

MR. EARNEST: Well, Mara, there certainly — it does seem clear that these terrorists — let’s call them what they are — these terrorists are individuals who would like to cloak themselves in the veil of a particular religion. But based on the fact that the religious leaders of that religion have roundly condemned their actions, those religious leaders have indicated that their actions are entirely inconsistent with Islam. I think the fact that the majority of victims of terror attacks that are carried out by al Qaeda and adherents to their particular brand of violence, that the majority of them are Muslim I think is a pretty clear indication that this is not a matter of the world being at war with Islam. The world and the United States — as we’ve discussed before in the context of ISIL — is at war with these individuals, these violent extremists who carry out these acts of terror and try to justify it by invoking this religion.

Q Right. But the leader of France, your ally in this effort, has put a name on this ideology, which he calls “radical Islam.” You have bent over backwards to not ever say that. There must be a reason.

MR. EARNEST: I think the reason is twofold. One is I certainly wouldn’t want to be in a position where I’m repeating the justification that they have cited that I think is completely illegitimate, right? That they have invoked Islam to try to justify their attacks.

Q But to call it radical Islam you feel would be playing into their hands.

MR. EARNEST: Well, I think what I’m trying to do is I’m trying to describe to you what happened and what they did. These are individuals who are terrorists. And what they did was they tried to invoke their own distorted deviant view of Islam to try to justify them. And I think that is completely illegitimate. And what we should do is we should call it what it is. And it’s an act of terror, and it’s one that we roundly condemn. It’s an act of terror that was roundly condemned by Muslim leaders across the globe.

There are reports that at least one of the victims of the attack in Paris was actually a Muslim. We know that at least one of the hostages in the kosher grocery store was a Muslim. And one of the things I think that has been particularly inspiring about the march that we spent a lot of time talking about yesterday is the kind of solidarity that we saw among the French population. This is a diverse country. But we saw French Jews marching with French Christians and French Muslims in a sign of solidarity to condemn these terror acts and to demonstrate that that country will not retreat in the face of that kind of violence.

Q But other of your allies have described the ideology that you call a warped view of Islam by calling it radical Islam. They’re not saying we’re at war with Islam. They agree with you totally in every word you’ve just said. But they are calling the ideology, the warped view that these people adhere to by a name. And it seems that the White House has gone to great lengths to avoid ever calling it anything other than a warped view, and I’m wondering is there a reason for that.

MR. EARNEST: Yes, and I guess I’m trying — I’m doing my best to try to explain to you what that is.

The first is accuracy. We want to describe exactly what happened. These are individuals who carried out an act of terrorism, and they later tried to justify that act of terrorism by invoking the religion of Islam and their own deviant view of it.

The second is this is an act that was roundly condemned by Muslim leaders. Again, I’m describing to you the reasons why we have not chosen to use that label because it doesn’t seem to accurately describe what had happened. We also don’t want to be in a situation where we are legitimizing what we consider to be a completely illegitimate justification for this violence, this act of terrorism.

Q Radical Islam kind of makes it almost legitimate.

MR. EARNEST: Again, I’m not going to criticize anybody who chooses to use that label. I’m talking about the way that we’re talking about this. And what we’re trying to do is be as specific and as accurate as possible in describing what exactly occurred.

God’s Final Message Applied to Today’s Churches

In Revelation chapter fourteen while in the midst of Daniel’s Seventieth Week (the seven-year long Tribulation period), God sends forth an angel to deliver his final message to rebellious, god-denying Man, just prior to unleashing His final seven judgments.

God’s final message cuts to the point and blows through all the superfluous drivel most lost souls are enduring in today’s dying pulpits. We would do well to take heed and make God’s last message the central theme being preached in our churches today.

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Rev.14:6-7).

God will use an angel to supernaturally complete the church’s Great Commission, to preach His Good News to the ends of the earth (Matthew 24:13-14). The angel’s good news that Man’s salvation is solely accomplished through faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8, John 14:6), is prefaced by God’s final message to mankind which focuses on three critical points concerning God’s relation to Man.

First, people must fear and glorify God. In our fallen world (and most modern churches), people have lost their fear of the Lord. There was a time in society when being called a God-fearer was a prized complement to strive for; now it is an archaic and often pejorative term.

Baiting the hook…

The headline “Sinking of Kremlin gas project leaves south-east Europe high and dry” caught my attention this afternoon. The EU has won out against Russia and a planned gas pipeline has been cancelled that would have supplied gas to south-eastern Europe. They are now left with the problem where to get the Gas from?

Gee, who just discovered the largest world-wide supply of Natural Gas, just off their shore?

Who is located near the south-eastern portion of the EU?

If you guessed Israel you are correct!

I believe we are seeing the “hook in the mouth” of Ezekiel 38 beginning to be set.

And who did Russia turn to to for the new pipeline destination? Turkey. The 38 Alliance is beginning to take shape, Turkey, Russia, and Iran.

8 Clear Signs of a Compromising Church

1. In the confessing church, Christ is over culture. The compromising church accommodates Christ to culture. The confessing church believes Jesus is Lord over all creation. Hence, they attempt to reflect Christ in every area of culture. The compromising church has a posture of accommodation. Hence, the Christ they believe in and preach is shaped by the culture they live in.

2. The confessing church holds fast to the Word of God in spite of opposition. The compromising church alters the Word of God because of opposition. Soon in America it is quite possible that it will be illegal to preach from certain passages of the Bible dealing with human sexuality. Because of this, many will alter their theology to fit the culture while the confessing church will preach the Word of God in spite of governmental fines, penalties, lawsuits and even serving time in jail.

3. The confessing church puts the kingdom of God above their culture and ethnicity. The compromising church puts their ethnicity before the kingdom of God. The German Church during the Nazi era put nationalism and their Aryan heritage above the Word of God. Many pastors and believers today view the Scriptures more through the lens of their ethnicity and national heritage than through a proper exegesis of Scripture.

When, and if, our nation officially makes biblical Christianity illegal, we will soon see who will be the confessors and who will be the compromisers. In many ways, practicing biblical Christianity is already illegal when it comes to believers attempting to walk out their faith in the marketplace because private Christian-owned businesses do not have the same level of protection today as do local churches.

4. The confessing church alters their methods of preaching. The compromising church alters the message they preach. While it is wise and biblical for the body of Christ to be relevant to culture regarding the preaching of the gospel, it should never put being relevant above being faithful. The compromising church puts being relevant before biblical faithfulness. Hence, they not only change the method of preaching but also the message they preach.

5. The confessing church is a remnant in the minority of church and state. The compromising church wants to be in the mainstream of both church and state. The confessing church endures long seasons of feeling like aliens and strangers in their own communities. The compromising church wants to be in the mainstream of culture more than living in the divine flow of God’s favor and presence.

6. The confessing church is penalized by the state government. The compromising church is applauded by the state government. While the confessing church is hunted down and ostracized by the humanistic state, the compromising church is celebrated by the far-left radicals and used as a model of how church and state should function together.

7. The confessing church prophetically speaks truth to power. The compromising church conforms to those in power. The confessing church knows that at various seasons in their existence they will not gain a lot of converts and/or experience societal transformation. The best they can do is to maintain a prophetic witness to the cultural elites and surrounding communities. Since the compromising church enjoys the power and prestige the elites grant them, they always conform rather than confront.

8. The confessing church desires the praise of God. The compromising church desires the praise of men. Ultimately at the end of the day it boils down to this: Are we living for the praise of men or the praise of God? If things don’t change in the coming days, we will be shocked at how many megachurches, mid-size churches and smaller churches compromise the word of God so they could continue to keep their doors open.

At some point we will all have to stand the ultimate test, which is whether we desire God more than we love our lives, or whether we love our pleasures, conveniences and material goods more than God. Truly, if we confess Christ before men He will confess us before His Father in heaven, but if we deny Him before men He will deny us before His Father in heaven (Matt. 10:32-33).

The Reprobate Mind…

God told us we would see these things, but even though I knew in my mind they would begin, still has a stunning effect of disbelief. I thought Robert had the best definition that I had heard in a while of a Reprobate mind.

This is what I call a reprobate mind, believing in a lie as if it’s the truth.

Another powerful statement from the article below summed up what my eyes are seeing and my heart is feeling these days as view the world through my Christian worldview lens:

One cannot trust anything that is written or heard in media anymore. The news networks are nothing more than indoctrination centers, spinning webs of deceit, and promoting false narratives to advance their agendas. Television programs are full of evil, as if this is the new normal. One cannot click through the channels without seeing gratuitous sex or hearing vulgar language. Schools are teaching our children Godless messages and punishing them should they say anything good or true about God. God is not allowed in the public square any longer. Even in the churches, ministers now teach and embrace homosexuality as if God has changed His mind. They call evil good and good evil.

So what is one to do in these dark days?

So, what is a Christian to do? What I do on a daily basis is look at current events and study the Bible. I read everything I can to keep up with the times, doing my prayerful best to discern God’s truth. It has become clear to me that America, as a nation, is in the throes of death. I believe this is the end game folks. Sodom and Gomorrah has nothing on us. But take heart, as this is not our home. We are citizens of Heaven. As Christians, we should not be surprised; we knew this was to happen according to the Word of God. We Christians need to pray constantly; we need to pray for our nation and also our enemies. God is in control and knows our troubles. He understands everything that is going on. Satan’s days are numbered and Gods return is so very close. We need to reach out and tell anyone who is willing to hear the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord and salvation awaits them.

The Reprobate Mind

Well folks, I must say that I am not surprised at what I am seeing in America today, but I am very sad and concerned. In fact, what I’m observing is making more sense to me than ever before. The Scriptures do tell us that in the end times evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived (2 Tim 3:13).

We certainly saw that on display after the decision in Ferguson—the decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson. This was an absolute correct and Godly decision. What I observed in the aftermath was an ungodly mob of people with reprobate minds. I saw people under Satan’s spell—folks doing evil on the level of what was seen during Hitler’s time and Stalin’s regime. What I witnessed was the evil of Satan himself.

The fact is, the people of Ferguson want to lynch a white police officer for doing his job. Darren Wilson killed a thug that robbed a store and then tried to do him harm. He had every right to defend himself. But, the mob won’t have it. Now they have destroyed Officer Wilson’s dream of being a peace keeper and having a normal life. He will be hunted down relentlessly by lawless people, including those in the media who saw nothing unethical in printing the address of his private residence. They want us to believe that it’s racial injustice, when in fact it’s reverse racism. This is what I call a reprobate mind, believing in a lie as if it’s the truth.

The people who participated in that absolute mayhem, burning down churches and small businesses in their own community, seemingly do not know the evil of their actions, or perhaps do not care. They are totally engrossed in anarchy—they are people with reprobate minds. They seem to have no clue of what is right or wrong. They simply exist—going about their lives while being manipulated by their false preachers, the president, the NAACP, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, congressmen and women, the media, lawyers, and so on.

What I see is the utter destruction of the American black race. A destruction so rapid yet scrupulous that they did not even see it coming. They fell for the lies. They eagerly accepted the handouts given to them with a wink and a nod—completely unaware that there would eventually be a price to pay. There is always a price. They fell for the rhetoric of the race hustlers and preachers—men and women who are only out for personal power, wealth, and fame.

The state of the American black community today, in my view, is the direct result of black men abandoning their families to be raised by the women they impregnate. These people have been brainwashed, and government and media are complicit. The welfare state has done no favors to black America. Instead, it has destroyed our families and made us dependent on Uncle Sam.

There is so much anger in the black community, because they believe what they have been told—that they had no choice in the outcome of their lives. They are victims, and they are owed. Race hustlers and other Godless people have risen up, through their own self-promotion, as “leaders,” only to take advantage of the black community. They organize and manipulate these people for their own selfish purposes. They agitate the black community, who in turn becomes highly emotional at the hands of these race baiters and Godless “leaders,” and seemingly loses any sense of right or wrong. Many of those people will claim to be Christians, yet they do evil, and believe in lies. I would ask them, “Where was Christ in the burning of Ferguson?”

If the preachers in the black community are able to distinguish evil, and I wonder if this is so, they will not speak out against it. Instead, they shout the same song and dance sermons that have been heard a million times—inciting hatred and anger among those who listen. I’m so saddened to see a race of people, my people, who were blessed by God to come to this great nation. A people who have now become worse than the ones who had us in chains a long time ago.

What I see happening to America in every corner of our once great society is astonishing! We are being overcome by evil and it has permeated our culture in every respect.

The POTUS has waved his magic wand, once again, and opened the door to illegal aliens, which will result in the final devastation of the black community. Blacks will never be able to get jobs and lift themselves out of poverty under this lawless action, even if they wanted to. The Hispanics will be next in line for the ruin that overtook the black community. They will now be the cheap labor for the liberal elites, making their beds, and picking their produce, while the privileged live in their gated communities under the protection of security guards.

More than 80% of black Americans—to this day—support the president. They have followed an evil man to their own destruction and they don’t even know it. They will continue to follow him, despite having become worse off under his policies. Unemployment, crime, disintegration of the black family, and lack of economic opportunity have all increased for the black community under this president’s administration. Black folks know this—President Obama and other evil and vile men and women have destroyed what was left of any moral values and Godly traits that we once held dear. I, of course, am not talking about all black folks but I am talking about most of them.

Now let me say this. Thirty-five states have now legalized same-sex marriage. That means we have 15 states to go before this is the law of the nation. I wonder what the churches will be preaching then. Will it be business as usual? Will they remain silent so as not to offend the LGBT community? Will they continue to overlook the sin that God hates? Look at what happened in Houston when their lesbian mayor subpoenaed sermons being preached in churches—intimidating preachers who spoke the truth, and the congregants who supported them. Those subpoenas were only withdrawn under an enormous backlash from the Christian community. I believe this was a shot across the bow against religious liberty in this nation, and it’s going to get worse. Be ready. When same-sex marriage goes legal, nationwide, what do you think will happen to the church?

America is in trouble on all fronts. Black communities are being destroyed. Hispanic’s are the next group to be castoff. Whites are afraid to stand up and speak the truth for fear of being called racist. Some churches are watering down God’s truth for fear of offending anyone, and perhaps losing donations. And, our government is now largely run by evil men and women, out for their own selfish purposes.

So, what is a Christian to do? What I do on a daily basis is look at current events and study the Bible. I read everything I can to keep up with the times, doing my prayerful best to discern God’s truth. It has become clear to me that America, as a nation, is in the throes of death. I believe this is the end game folks. Sodom and Gomorrah has nothing on us. But take heart, as this is not our home. We are citizens of Heaven. As Christians, we should not be surprised; we knew this was to happen according to the Word of God. We Christians need to pray constantly; we need to pray for our nation and also our enemies. God is in control and knows our troubles. He understands everything that is going on. Satan’s days are numbered and Gods return is so very close. We need to reach out and tell anyone who is willing to hear the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord and salvation awaits them.

As I have said in past articles, I have sinned and wounded God’s heart. But, I have confessed my sins and asked God to forgive me. He did, and He turned my life around. He can do that for you too. We need to pray for Darren Wilson, his new bride, and his unborn baby. We also need to pray for Michael Brown’s family; that they will see God’s light. And, please continue to pray for the Jews and Israel.

Temple Mount Trouble

Tensions over Jerusalem’s Temple Mount have been rapidly building in the past several weeks. What started out as a minor disagreement over access to religious sites in the Old City, has now reached the point of becoming a major conflict between the Arabs and Jews.

The bloodshed started with the attempted assassination of Jewish activist, Yehuda Glick, 48, who led efforts to allow Jews to pray on the Temple Mount. Glick was shot multiple times by Palestinian, Moataz Hijazi. He was quickly declared a martyr after he was killed by Israeli police. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that he died, “While defending his people’s rights and the holiness of sanctuaries (Temple Mount).”

Despite the fact that all the acts of murder have been committed by Palestinians, Israel is seen as primarily responsible for maintaining the peace. After one outbreak of violence, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry came over to lecture Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the need for Israel to take action to restore calm.

The conflict reached a demonic level of madness with a brazen assault on a Jerusalem synagogue. In that attack, four rabbis were brutally murdered as they prayed, and one policeman lost his life. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas condemned the synagogue attack, but his statement also urged Israel to “halt its provocations.”

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to understand what Palestinians see as a provocation. Their concerns over the Temple Mount appear more like the raging rants of paranoid mad men. Last week, they accused Israel of allowing Muslim holy sites on the Temple Mount to become “contaminated.” In another message they said the Al-Aqsa mosque was in danger of being destroyed by “extremist settlers.” The Palestinians also fear that Israel plans to declare sovereignty over the Temple Mount.

The Temple Mount area is currently under Islamic control. During the Six-Day War in 1967, Israel seized control of East Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount. As a gesture of goodwill, Israeli General Moshe Dyan decided to allow the Islamic Waqf trust, to continue running the site.

For a long time the mindset of most Israelis has been that the Temple Mount is off limits to them. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef had even set forth a prohibition on Jews entering the Temple Mount based on the idea that the Temple area was “ritually impure as a result of contact with the dead (for which there is no possibility of purification in our time.”)

In recent years, many Jews are starting to question the restrictions placed on them to access the Temple Mount. The problem with the impurity of the Temple Mount can be dealt with by using biblical remedies (like the Ashes of the Red Heifer). There is no remedy in getting the Arabs to share access to the Temple area.

All efforts at appeasement have been futile. The Palestine Liberation Organization is so rabidly opposed to Jewish access to the mount, they have gone to the ridiculous length of declaring that the Jews have no historical connection to the Temple Mount, and it is “null and void” to use the term.

Another factor that is changing the Israeli view about the Temple Mount is the realization that the Al-Aqsa Mosque may not be outside of the sanctified area. Chief Rabbi Ramat Gan, one of the leading rabbis of the religious Zionist movement, recently said, “They say we want the Al-Aqsa (Mosque). Who wants the Al-Aqsa? It’s outside of the Temple Mount. It’s very possible that it will remain even when the Temple is rebuilt!”

Satan will most likely do everything in his power to hinder the Jews from rebuilding the Temple. He has been using the Palestinians as a proxy to oppose Jewish interests on the mount. His fate is directly tied to this plot of land. Once the go ahead is given for the building of the Tribulation Temple, a countdown clock to his doom will be set into motion.

End-time prophecy tells us that the Tribulation will start with the Antichrist signing a peace agreement between Israel and her Arab neighbors, one that will validate rights for Jews to worship at a rebuilt Temple. Unless the devil can come up with some delaying tactic, we may be very near to the Tribulation hour.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate” (Daniel 9:27).

Coca-Cola’s Anti-Religious Positions
Turns out the Coca-Cola Company’s Nonpartisan Committee for Good Government gave Mayor Parker’s campaign $1000.00. But that’s not the only time Coca-Cola has supported bigotry toward religious adherents in the country. Coca-Cola, taking the side of gay rights activists, attacked the legislation and made threats to the legislatures.

Houston drops subpoenas to get speeches from pastors opposed to anti-discrimination ordinance
One of the pastors, Steve Riggle, said he didn’t believe Parker was genuinely concerned about the religious freedom issues surrounding the subpoenas. “If the mayor thought the subpoenas were wrong, she would have pulled them immediately, not waited until she was forced to by national outrage to narrow them, which according to our legal team didn’t narrow them at all,” said Riggle, a pastor at Grace Community Church.

Nato reports rise in Russia military flights over Europe
Nato has reported an “unusual” increase in Russian military aircraft conducting manoeuvres over European airspace over the last two days. Threat from north many times greater than Gaza, outgoing OC Northern Command says

The meeting followed a prayer vigil held by the group in front of Houston City Hall.

In Pursuit of Truth

Jesus said, in John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Free from what? If freedom is the goal, then bondage is what must be overcome, and if the truth would set us free, then a lie holds us in bondage. There seems to be no one-sided issues out there—it’s yes or no, right or wrong, good or bad, up or down, front or back, etc. Some wise person figured it out—for every action there is a responding reaction.

The truth has greater authority than a lie, therefore it can break the hold of bondage and set a person free. Therefore, when Jesus answered the devil’s temptations with quoted Scripture (i.e. “it is written”), He was also showing believers how to combat the lies of the enemy—Satan. Jesus made the astounding claim, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by Me” (John 14:6) yet many otherwise intelligent people deny emphatically that it could be so.

I submit that if someone could produce viable evidence that their alternate provider of salvation has died on a cross in fulfillment of those foreshadowing blood sacrifices recorded in the pages of the Old Testament, then show us the nail marks in his hands and we perhaps could be swayed toward that possibility! There is not even a shred of a possibility for that to happen. The only alternatives ever produced are merely guidelines for human effort. Cain saw that would not work, even at the very beginning of humanity!

John wrote in his first epistle, “…no lie is of the truth” (1 John 2:20), that is, the truth cannot have any shadow of doubt in it. That is why the Ten Commandments are not just ten suggestions, and why Jesus affirmed God’s edict in His answer to the devil’s first temptation, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

In that John 8 passage, Jesus began at verse 31, saying, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed,” and in verse 36, He adds, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” It is the lie of Satan that opposes the truth, with deception continually repeated over the centuries to bring people into bondage to sin through lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Because the truth of Jesus Christ, claimed by a person, Paul could write in Romans 6:14, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

In the pursuit of the truth of God, one must come to realize a very basic starting point. Recently I posted a three-part article on the Beatitudes from Matthew 5, and that first Beatitude nails it down pretty tightly. One must realize he is spiritually in deep poverty and in great need of God’s mercy and grace. To the religious scribes and Pharisees in Jerusalem, Jesus said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance” (Mark 2:17). Jesus was seen eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners, and they were critical of Him for it. I suspect that Jesus may have been giving them a back-end message in saying that, for He knew those self-righteous hypocrites needed repentance as much as did those with Him.

Considering Some Key Principles

One of my uncles once was frustrated about the structure of the Bible (he was not a born-again believer). He complained that it would have made more sense to organize it like an encyclopedia, with everything about a topic in its own section. I admit that he had a point, but the (more…)

Watch and Do Not Grow Weary

Ever feel as though you are all alone, in waiting for the Lord to return? Do you attend a church that would rather give a seminar on the Ebola virus, than the Lord’s return? Ever feel as though you want to watch and wait, but then life takes over and you get caught up dealing with the problems and cares of this life? Ever feel as though you simply don’t have enough hours in the day to devote to spending time with God? Ever feel as though you don’t think you make a difference?

Well friend, if you’ve ever felt that way, you are not alone. Since my reconversion in 2007, I can honestly say, I’ve felt all the above on numerous occasions, for extended periods. I know it’s not any fun, and I know that in those moments, it seems unproductive, but let me share a quote with you from Winston Churchill:

“Mountaintops inspire leaders, but valleys mature them.”

Arguably, what has cemented my passion for the Bible all these years has been prophecy…even when I was drifting away from God. It was in those times that I often thought that the low points of my spiritual walk were simply self-inflicted products of my own faulty understanding and interpretation. Or that in my flesh, my relapses into former habits somehow kept knocking me down to new lows and I would never grow as a believer.

But even in my lowest of lows, I could never not be expectant of the Lord’s return. I just pushed it out of my mind and tried not to think about it. There were times when I even tried to think like other Christian’s, who didn’t seem to have that same awareness. Somehow if I could just get on board with the ‘flavor of the week” Christian movement, I could somehow be more productive and have more friends.

Besides, wasn’t I tired of always being labeled the “gloom and doomer?” My friends and family would ask me, “Why do you always focus on the negatives?” Or that “We aren’t called to sit around and just look up into the sky all day, we need to be busy doing the Lord’s work.” I’m accused of being obsessed about the Lord’s return, and that I am a “one-trick pony” always going on about the same subject. All I can say is, “Guilty as charged.” I might be a “gloom and doomer” but that’s only because the world is racing toward an eternal abyss, and where it is heading is no joy in that message.

My spiritual walk has oftentimes felt like one gigantic valley. It’s always uphill both ways, and I feel at times, incredibly isolated. I’ve attended two prophecy conferences in my life…one in 1991, and the other in 2009. I simply don’t have the time, money, or resources to ever go to the big ones…in part due to my job, and also due to my personal commitments. So if you’re out there and you feel alone, please don’t. I mean, you are in the physical sense temporarily alone, although you have a network of believers most of which you haven’t met on this side of the Rapture, but will rejoice all the more on the other side of it.

Assessment

I believe that the seven churches in Revelation 2-3 not only speak to the individuals and congregations of John’s day, but also to the seven specific periods of time chronicling church history. There is one repeated phrase in each of the letters; look at what Jesus has to say to each church: “I know your works.”

Jesus is not unfamiliar with our struggles. Remember, it is He who is walking amongst the candle-stands, and it is He who holds the seven stars in His hands. He is intimately familiar with each of our struggles, and what we as a “corporate” body of believers go through in each day, and in each era. I also believe that the last four churches are in existence at the same time, and notice what He has to say to those faithful Philadelphian believers…

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown” (Rev. 3:8-11, emphasis added).

Do the modern day, Pre-Millennial, Pre-Tribulation dispensationalists feel like they have a lot of strength these days? Hardly. Look at America’s Pastor for instance; clearly a man who cares little for the prophetic word, yet, he’s made tens of millions of dollars off of books he’s written. His influence in the evangelical world is impressive…yet even he has little influence over significantly important geo-political matters.

How much less am I who writes online once a week? I can’t hold a conference and have thousands of people attend. I can’t write a book that sells millions of copies. Well, I mean I could if God had wanted me too, but that is not what I’m speaking to. God has allowed the weak and beggarly things (me) to continue on for a purpose.

God has placed me in this time in this place, for a specific purpose, and has allowed my life to turn out as such, that I would bring my unique set of circumstances and understandings to the public forum…not for my glory, but for His. I struggle at times, and I told Jack that every topic I wanted to write about, has already been written about six ways from Sunday.

He told me that that didn’t matter. What matters is that I write it from my perspective, which has never been written before. And so off I went, and now three years have passed and I don’t regret a single word I’ve put into print. Honestly, I don’t know the reach of what I write, and all I hope, is that I’ve helped get the message out that this age is coming to an end, and that our Lord is returning soon!

But guess what else? He’s done the same for you. The prophets of old and the apostles and the early church fathers, and everyone since then, has LONGED to see the days in which we live. To see Israel back in her land. To see the world coming about just as the Bible said it would. We live in exciting times and in this moment when our anticipation and excitement should be peaking, Satan is ramping up the pressure to keep us subdued, suppressed, and deflated.

He does this through work, through bills, through negative responses from friends and family, through distractions, through an oppressive culture that all but begs you to give up the faith, and come back to “reality.” Not to say that Satan has possessed friends and family along the way, but Satan greatest power in this age, is as an influencer, and the world is currently under his sway. So although we preach the truth and watch and wait, and anticipate the Lord’s return, Satan has a way of raining on our parades. But that’s okay, because we know how our story ends.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57:

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’

‘O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?’

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

John states that we who have placed our faith in Jesus Christ in this age, are already overcomers. While we are privileged to live in such an age, it does not come without a price. Although we know how it all ends, there is still the problem we face as we have to live out our faith in a world that is all but collapsing spiritually, mentally, and culturally around us.

We are called to endure and to wait upon the Lord’s perfect timing. Just like those who lived in Christ’s day did not understand what had to transpire, looking back, they can see God’s perfect plan unfolding in such a way that even Satan himself, could neither foresee, nor forestall, what was to take place.

“However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” (1 Cor. 2:6-8).

So do as Christ instructed, hold up your heads and look for His soon return. For He will not delay one second longer than necessary, but will wait until that last person places their eternal destiny in His nail-scarred hands. Do not let the worries of this life get you down because eternity awaits, and the time we spent here will in comparison seem like a grain of sand on a road that stretches on forever.

“Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants” (Luke 12:37-38).

The Lord promises to those who wait for Him, that their reward will be great. Our reward will not just been in what comes after the Rapture, but also before the Rapture. We do not worry like the pagans about what tomorrow brings.

We do not worry about the current chaos that is quickly enveloping the world, because it is happening just like the Bible predicted. If anything, that should bolster our faith in God’s Word. We do not even worry about what comes after death…because we worship a risen Savior who conquered death, hell, and the grave.

So keep a watchful eye, and an expectant heart. And remember that this world is merely a dulled shadow of things much greater to come. Let our prayer be, that if the Lord tarries another 20 years, that we still be found faithful and expectant and ever mindful of our Lord’s warning…

“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly” (Luke 21:34).

Peace of Mind in Perilous Times

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! —Isaiah 5:20

It used to be, that people didn’t need to lock their doors at night, or worry about someone stealing a bike from their front yard. You didn’t use to need to worry about your kids walking to the store by themselves, or just being out all day playing until dinner time.

You didn’t need to worry about whether your government was spying on you. You trusted the banks to do with your money, what they said they would. If bad guys did bad things, they were caught and went to jail (and for a long time). You had a national border that actually stopped, or at least, limited the amount of unknowns coming into your country. At one point in your life, you had faith in the system.

But what we’ve seen in the last 25 years in the United States, is a rapid and aggressive acceleration into a national decline in almost every sector. We have effectively transitioned from a producer-nation, to a service based nation. We have rapidly transitioned from a creditor nation, to a debtor nation. We have justified to ourselves (vis-à-vis an ever rising debt ceiling), the current level of sky rocketing debt we currently find ourselves in. Time honored cultural and religious institutions are being turned on their head. Marriage is no longer just between a man and a woman. Children don’t necessarily need to come from only two parents. Science is quickly outpacing the ethical boundaries that prevent the abuse of those technologies.

Globally… Ebola, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, and a half dozen other diseases are but hairbreadth away from becoming pandemic. Strange animal die-offs are occurring at alarming rates. The radioactive fallout from Fukushima pollution of the Pacific has begun to change the face of life in the world’s largest ocean. ISIS, Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Boko Haram, and many other Islamic terror groups are rampaging across the 10/40 window, leaving a trail of carnage in their wake. Crime and murder have all but seized our city centers, which in turn has driven the law abiding citizen, further and further out of it.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good” (2 Timothy 3:1-3).

The norms and basic civil decencies are being turned on their head. Ethnic tensions are on the rise globally, but none so alarmingly as they are right here in the US, where black inner-city mobs “knocking out” or beating up non-black persons, is seemingly becoming common place. The media are reluctant or outright afraid to call things what they are, and ‘hate crime’ is seemingly only reserved for those “dangerous” Tea Party types.

Right is wrong, up is down, black is white, and evil is good…and it’s only getting worse. Notice how the Apostle Paul’s words are ringing truer and truer by the day. Things are not getting better, but are getting progressively worse. And now that we find ourselves in these very times he spoke of, are we surprised that they are anything less than what the Bible said they would be?

Assessment

Not many years ago, it was really hard to find things to dig up to prove that we are in fact, in the last moments of the last days. Such is not the case in 2014, where so much is happening on so many fronts, that it makes your head hurt just thinking about it. It would be really easy to get discouraged with all that has transpired since 9/11/01, and conclude we must already be in the Tribulation in some form or fashion. Maybe that is why positions like Pre-Wrath and Post-Tribulation positions seem to be growing at more rapid rates within eschatological circles. It is natural to assume that when things take a turn for the worse, we must be in one or more of the judgments.

For instance… The other day I was scanning the news when I came across an article talking about the pros and cons of the new RFID technology. It had a long laundry list of potential benefits that it could have constructive impacts to many of the aforementioned problems we are currently experiencing in this nation. For instance, it could help prevent crime, track predators, protect property, and prevent identity theft. But at the end of the article, it asks the question of whether or not it’s ethical, and whether it has the potential for abuse. I thought that was a rather silly question, considering all we know now about the abuses of government thus far, over privacy and what not. But I liken it to the pre and post mindset people had before and after 9/11.

Before 9/11, Americans would have never allowed the Patriot Acts to pass through the halls of Congress. But afterwards, because of fear, it seemed like a very logical thing to do and it was pushed through at break-neck speed. Now that it is in force, its tentacles of intrusion have only ever grown in its scope and depth as it reaches into the lives of average Americans. All it took for the American people to hand over personal liberty, was the right threat. Each new potential threat is used to justify a continued and ever more pervasive reach into the lives of the public…and again, that too, is by design.

Fear drives our daily lives now. Fear feeds into our belief systems, and into what we are willing to accept as normal. Fear is ingratiating itself into our eschatology, which is why positions like Pre-Wrath and Post-Trib are on the rise in evangelical churches. Fear is an insatiable monster in and of itself, and it feeds on hope, and devours peace, crushes action, and delivers you into a cradle of bondage.

Conclusion

Being grounded in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture as THE Blessed Hope, is more than just lip service. It is more than just head knowledge. It’s more than just having the correct, chronological understand of end time’s events. It was designed by God, to give us, a light of hope, in an increasingly darkened world. Whether we want to accept it or not, we are that generation that will see the Lord return. We are the generation with Israel back in her land. We are the generation with Israel in control of Jerusalem. We are the generation that has the technological and economic means to control all buying and selling in the world. We are that generation that have all the signs converging at break neck speed. And yes, doom and gloom is big business…just turn on your local or national news. Fear sells, but we, are not called to live in a spirit of fear.

“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

We are not only to have the proper understanding of Scripture, too include how things end (eschatology), but we are also supposed to apply that knowledge to our daily lives. If you notice in the New Testament, almost every passage referencing the Lord’s coming at the Rapture, is preceded or surrounded by passages that promote holy living. We are to live out our beliefs, by being grounded in the reality, that Christ will return, and that His return, will be before the world enters into that final seven years. We are not called ‘overcomers’ for nothing…

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

It’s knowing, believing, and sharing that belief through our word and deed that will draw people to Christ, because we have this hope, in an increasingly hopeless world. We belong to Christ, Christ is in us, and we make up the body of Christ…and Christ is God. If Christ existed before all things, and by all things were created through Him, and Christ conquered death and hell at the Cross…what have we to fear?

What is in this life that poses a greater threat than that? Nothing. We are not called to have a spirit of fear. The Pre-Tribulation Rapture (or catching up) is just hope realized and codified in Scripture for our benefit. It was God’s plan, hidden before the foundation of the world, revealed through Paul and John to us, that we should live boldly and confidently, in a world that is passing away. (Eph. 3:1-7; 1 Thess. 4:13-5:9; 1 John 2:17).

A world passing away, is juxtaposed with the peace that passes understanding. Yes, these are dark times, and they are growing darker by the day. But the worse it gets, the closer it is to Christ’s return. We simply need to keep all that in perspective. So beloved, don’t get sucked into false beliefs that promote fear, and rob you of hope. Don’t be drawn to teachers that feed doom and gloom, and promote their own ministries or eschatological beliefs, over what Scripture actually teaches. Don’t let their confusion over the Rapture, with the Second Coming, lead you down a path which has you prepping for Armageddon, when we are called to live boldly and confidently in this time so soon near our Lord’s coming. (See Matt. 6:25-33).

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Cor. 4:16-17).

This Generation

This Generation

Greetings to all of my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. I have enjoyed reading your articles and I am impressed with the unity of thought of most of the writers. We need to be unified about the Pre-Trib Rapture position and boldly teach it as the truth (that it is). Neither the Post-Trib view nor the Mid-Trib view can possibly be true. They are both in error. Mid-Tribbers are, in reality—date setting.

If Jesus and the angels don’t know the day or hour, then neither do any of us know when the Rapture will take place — other than it will occur before the wrath of God descends upon the earth and its’ inhabitants. Mid-Tribbers are specifying the mid-point of the Tribulation (which is a form of date setting). The arguments for these positions are weak at best, and can be refuted with Scripture.

I want to make a couple of points in this article. The first point is that Jesus Himself established the truth of the Rapture of the church although He let Paul give the specific details. It makes perfectly good sense that He didn’t outline the whole process of the Rapture at the time because His discussion with the disciples took place before the church was formed. They were confused and frightened enough without adding more angst to their thoughts.

When those inquiring minds questioned Jesus about the end, He pointed to various signs, beginning with the fig tree (Israel) and talking about wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, etc. Jesus made the statement that no one (not even Himself or the angels) knew the day or hour but the Father only.

By saying this, He established the truth of the Rapture and made the distinction between it and the Second Coming, or the end of the evil world system. Reason with me: Daniel 12:11 reveals the exact day of the end—the Second Coming, when the Lord returns to earth with His church, or more correctly, with His Body and the angels—to uproot evil, at least for a while (1,000 years). Thus, the Rapture and the Second Coming, by definition are two separate events. For us, the Rapture is from the earth to the clouds while the Second Coming is from the clouds to the earth.

The second point I want to make is in reference to the title of this article. I have wrestled with the Lord with this question for years, and graciously, He revealed the answer not long ago. Back to the conversation with the disciples about the end; the Lord said that “this generation” would not pass until all these things have been fulfilled. What could He have meant?

I tell you in no uncertain terms that He was referring to a specific generation somewhere along the corridors of time, and there is only one generation that can fulfill this prophecy. We now have the answer. I saw a pastor the other night hocking his new book basically about this same question. When he was cornered with a hard question he bailed out by saying that he thought that the end was near but it could be another 1,000 years—what a cop out.

I say, “Stand up believers, be bold and confident and trust Jesus. We need another Elijah on the scene today!”

Anyway, back to the answer to the question, “What generation?” According to my calculations, I was conceived around the same date that Israel became a nation (1948). I am 65 years old. My grandparents’ generation saw the first sign—fig tree (Israel) and were able to comprehend that sign but that generation has passed. “This generation” couldn’t be referring to my generation because although some of my generation saw the first sign (Israel), they (we) really didn’t understand what it meant.

Also any generation following my generation (the boomers) weren’t in place to witness and comprehend the first sign (Israel), thus, they are eliminated as “this generation.” Friends, that leaves us with the only possible answer which is, the World War II generation. My parents’ generation witnessed firsthand the hatred of the Jews, the holocaust, and the budding of the fig tree—the formation of the nation of Israel.

This information puts things in perspective, time-wise wouldn’t you agree, especially as we witness “this generation” fading from the scene?

Another fact that further tightens the timeline is that the Tribulation period itself is seven years in length. The World War II generation doesn’t have the luxury of much more delay before it passes away.

“Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay” (Ezekiel 37:22 NIV).

The Burgeoning Threat

This week, I wrote a piece for the Times of Israel (http://blogs.timesofisrael.com/israels-battle-of-the-burge/), warning again about the growing attacks on Israel and Jews, from America’s evangelical leadership. This time, the Huffington Post allowed Wheaton professor Gary Burge to spread more of his propaganda.

Although many pro Israel sources lament this very troubling trend, most aren’t aware of how we got to this place. That background is what continues to fascinate me, and I think it’s important to understand what forces and conditions led to this moment, when Israel has a new threat to deal with: Evangelicals Against Israel.

The current American Church — which I would argue is now virtually synonymous with the Church Growth/Seeker-Driven model — is a strange mixture of liberalism and corporate structure.

When Peter Drucker and Leadership Network made the decision to infiltrate evangelicalism a few decades ago, they selected certain up-and-comer pastors like Rick Warren and Bill Hybels, who would be open to ecumenism and center-left perspectives. With regard to Israel, Hybels and his wife, Lynne (co-founders of the Willow Creek Association) had been mentored by pro Palestinian sources for years. Warren, of course, loathes Bible prophecy because it conflicts with his agenda of creating the Kingdom of God here, now.

It took a long time, but these change agents managed to begin changing the landscape in the American church, with regard to Israel and Zionism.

We now have Burge and many others advocating for the Palestinians.

But what were the other contributing factors to this erosion of support for Israel?

I’ve discussed before how liberal scholarship kicked into high gear in this country more than 100 years ago. Harry Emerson Fosdick, the famous “preacher” of the early last century, began to wage open warfare against Bible-believing Christians, and the results of the famous Scopes “Monkey Trial,” in Tennessee (where evolutionary concepts were mainstreamed and marketed) contributed to a marginalization of Christians.

This was the stage-setting period, which would take decades to bear fruit for liberals. The key idea was to introduce doubt in people’s minds about the Bible and in particular, the Old Testament.

In Calvin Johnson’s terrific book, “Beyond the Point of No Return,” we discover the beginnings of this agenda:

“The institutions of learning responsible for preparing the preachers for the pulpit had turned to humanism and universalism by at least the 20’s and 30’s. Most had adopted Darwinian humanistic psychology.”

Further, Johnson gives specifics that show an opening was created by these liberal teachers:

“Neo-Orthodoxy gave credence to two Biblical truths – the sinfulness of man and the need for a life-changing encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. However, it did not accept the miracles and the historical events of the Bible as true.”

The liberal, mainline denominations were already attacking the veracity of the Bible’s creation accounts in Genesis, and then they began casting doubt on the very origins of the Jewish people: the accounts of Abraham, Moses, Joshua…all were relegated either to myth or the misty realm of “semi-legend.”

Do you see how this would build a foundation to undermine Israel’s legitimacy later? In point of fact, many, many evangelical leaders would later forge a disconnect between modern Israel and the ancient Israelites.

Let me be clear: there is plenty of evidence that the modern Israelis are the direct descendants of David, Mordechai, Gideon, etc.

To allege otherwise is bizarre? Yet, major evangelical leaders have done just that. Men like Chuck Colson, D. James Kennedy, and Maxie Dunnam (former president of the only evangelical seminary of the United Methodist Church, Asbury) have denied that modern Israelis are connected to the biblical patriarchs.

This, my friends, is how we have arrived at a place where Israel’s natural alliance with the U.S., and specifically, evangelical Christian, is now in peril.

As I’ve stated many times, NOW is the time to commit more time to prayer, Bible study and, by extension, advocacy for Israel wherever you can.

We are in the endgame. Let’s finish well.

Church vs. Evil

This week for the “Nearing Midnight” column, I’ve chosen to use a small portion of a chapter I wrote for a book of chapters with colleagues. It is from the book: Blood on the Altar: The Coming War between Christian Vs. Christian (Defender Publishing, 2014).

I believe this is a message the body of Christ–the true church—needs to understand in these ominous times.

The latter part of the twentieth century brought profound changes to this once more morally anchored nation. Regardless of some of the less savory facts that have been brought out in recent times concerning America’s founding, this nation has truly been an experiment in principle based upon biblical precepts.

The year 1963, with Supreme Court decisions determined to try to remove God from public schools, proved to be a pivotal point in the slide toward oblivion that is even now picking up speed. Let’s have a brief review of the early part of that stunning century.

My research in writing the book The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Harvest House, 2009) took me back to God’s harsh dealing with America in the 1930s. The things Americans suffered were considered by preachers and politicians alike to be God’s wrath and judgment.

One well-known writer, John Steinbeck, even gave his famous novel on that depressed time in America the title The Grapes of Wrath. America had gone through a tremendous time of growth and relative prosperity during the “Gay Nineties.” (For the younger readers, it had nothing to do with the Clinton years, nor with homosexuality. It was the 1890s, and the term “gay” still enjoyed its proper definition.)

Despite the early 1900s bringing about World War I, the nation leaped forward, and soon the “Roaring Twenties” brought forth the flappers and boisterous, even debauched, “good times.” Reformers tried to squash the hedonism, and with the passage of the 18th Amendment instituted prohibition against alcohol manufacture, sale, and transportation. The action only increased rebellion against morality. American gangsters took over, and illegal booze, gambling, and every other type of nefarious activity permeated culture and society.

Then in 1929 came the stock market crash in the United States, and worldwide depression quickly followed. The wrath of God had fallen!

Or had it?

No, it had not. Neither had His judgment against America’s sin fallen upon the nation, thus affecting the world—not in the sense of God’s great judgment that came upon the antediluvians, the wicked, violent, even genetically corrupted earth dwellers of Noah’s day. But God’s mighty hand of correction through the Great Depression and the horrendous “Dust Bowl” era came down hard on the backside of this nation He so manifestly chose to accomplish great things for His great purposes. Those things would include, in particular: 1) developing the technologies that would spread the gospel around the entire world; and 2) acting as midwife for the birth of modern Israel on May 14, 1948, and to become the Jewish peoples’ closest ally—an ally that just happened to soon become the most materially blessed, most powerful, and most influential nation the world has ever known.

America, despite the Great Depression and war that took thousands of young American lives, came to know a standard of living and pleasures—both unsullied and debauched—like no generation of any people in history. The thing to keep in mind is that during all of that degeneration of America and the corrective measures the Lord was employing, Christianity stood firm. The church—the “born again”—faced up to those efforts to totally debauch this United States of America. The Billy Sundays—the great evangelists—were anchors in the pulpits of the nation, as were a vast number of genuine Christians in the pews across the land. Even a casual perusal of the national landscape of morality today evokes the question: Is there such resistance to evil in these troubling days?

Today, other profoundly disturbing questions to ponder are: Will God choose to again correct this special nation called America? Or, will He take His hand off to an extent, allowing the U.S. to find its own way, which is what the majority of the electorate seems to want?

I get email daily from people who fear this nation will now feel the Lord’s hand of wrath. The die is cast, as one of Shakespeare’s characters said. I don’t necessarily subscribe to that “judgment-and-wrath-are-about-to-fall” opinion, at least not in the immediate near term the way many who send the fear-filled emails believe. Nonetheless, God’s wrath is building. It will be unleashed when the “prince that shall come” confirms the covenant with Israel and Israel’s antagonists (Daniel 9:26–27).

That pouring out of God’s anger won’t happen until the church is removed. However, there is almost certainly a heavenly decision that has already been made, and is even now in the process of implementation. It is likely the decision to either take corrective measures as in God’s past dealings with America in order to get this nation back on the moral course to complete its work in His grand prophetic design, or to give rebellious masses what they more and more demonstrate they demand. They demand freedom to choose what is right in their own eyes.

God’s decision to take His hand off to some extent would be far more fearful than His again taking corrective action like world economic depression. To let the rebels do what is right in their own eyes, thus casting God away from any semblance of divine guidance, means America’s work is done. That is indeed a frightening thing to contemplate.

Much of what happens next is dependent upon the true Christian church—born-again believers. How we choose to confront evil might well determine our nation’s—even the world’s—immediate fate.

I must say that I, with reverential consideration, don’t expect immediate meltdown and correction from Almighty God. I believe with all that is within me that He has been demonstrating corrective movements over the past years and months—movements that have gone unheeded by even the majority of His people. These have chosen to bury their heads in the sands of watered-down messages that have practically no relevance to God’s message of doctrinal truth. Rather than revival, there have been false, emotional outbursts that have done disservice to the Lord who purchased each and every one who has been born again. It seems to me that the church’s work, like that of America, has almost run its course.

Dave Hunt once wrote a book called Peace, Prosperity, and the Coming Holocaust. His basic premise was that this fallen world system, and particularly the United States and even the church, would be drawn ever deeper into believing in humanistic salvation by seeming peace and prosperity. He demonstrated, then, through historical precedent and Bible prophecy both past and yet to come, that the world of fallen man will at a future time of unprecedented evil activity on earth endure a holocaust far worse than that perpetrated by Adolf Hitler. The end will bring, he concluded, God’s wrath and judgment on an incorrigibly wicked world.

I believe America and the world can yet have another burst of so-called peace and prosperity—although I see it as highly unlikely. The “change” the country and the world are clamoring for through trust in human governmental entities rather than God’s moral governance will certainly, if not rejected, as my friend Dave Hunt wrote, swiftly bring the holocaust of the Tribulation.

Let us, the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, pray for the president—even when it seems to do no good—and for all governmental leaders, so that we might lead peaceful lives. This is commanded of us by the Lord. But, let us work to complete whatever He puts in front of us to do for the kingdom. Let us, as Oswald Chambers entitled his book of devotions, do “our utmost for His highest” while our fleeting time remains upon this fallen sphere.

Rice and maize production will be particularly affected during the coming harvest season, says the FAO.

Nigeria’s Boko Haram ‘seize’ Bama town in Borno
Nigeria’s militant Islamist group Boko Haram has seized the key north-eastern town of Bama after fierce fighting with government forces, residents say. Thousands of civilians have fled the town, along with soldiers, they added. However, military sources said the army was still in control of Bama, the second biggest town in Borno state.

Tungurahua volcano in Ecuador: Increased activity
Seismologists in Ecuador say the Tungurahua volcano is showing increased activity. About 40 explosions were registered on Monday and even though their intensity diminished, experts have not ruled out a renewed sudden increase. An ash cloud up to 3km (1.8 miles) in height has been rising from the volcano over the past few days.

Mexican state of Coahuila approves same-sex marriage
The northern state of Coahuila has become the second region in Mexico to officially allow same-sex marriage. Coahuila’s congress approved changes to the civil code which give same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexual couples, including adoption. In Mexico, laws on same-sex unions fall under state legislation, and a number of them have divergent rules.

US army attacks terrorists in Somalia
US military forces carried out an operation on Monday against al-Shabaab militants in Somalia, a US Department of Defense spokesman said. “We are assessing the results of the operation and will provide additional information as and when appropriate,” Pentagon spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said in a statement.

Did Joel Osteen’s wife commit ‘blasphemy’?
“She honestly believes that God exists to make us happy rather than holy,” Camp said. “She honestly believes that worship is about our fulfillment rather than His glory. That’s the bottom issue here.”

End Times Are Near: ISIS Plans…

Unstoppable Momentum

We are living in the days of what can be called Unstoppable Momentum, where most things with a connection to the last days are in a state of relentless advancement. It’s like watching a massive avalanche that overwhelms everything in its path.

It wasn’t always this way. Back in the 1980s, I remember the devil having a much harder time at corrupting the morals of a nation. The general pattern was two steps forward and one step back. The long-term trend was down, but occasionally there would be periods of reform.

The forces of darkness mostly had to operate in a stealthful manner. Any politician who would dare speak positively of sins like recreational drug use, homosexual marriage, and abortion, could instantly find himself in hot water.

Back then, moral watchdog groups had a powerful influence over America. In one campaign, they used their sway to convince several retail outlets to stop selling adult magazines. During a four year period, from 1982 to 1986, they were able to end the sale of porn magazines in 28,000 locations. During that time period, Playboy had a 35 percent decline in its total circulation.

Today, there are no Christian moral crusaders of any significant stature. The Moral Majority, Focus on the Family, Christian Coalition, National Federation for Decency, and Roman Catholic Bishops are either defunct or they are a shadow of their former selves. We live in a time so corrupted the CEO of a company can get himself into hot water for just expressing the Bible’s view of morality. Two years ago, Dan Cathy, president Chick-fil-A, was involved in a huge media storm when it was learned that he gave money to organizations fighting same-sex marriage and supporting heterosexual ones.

Walid wrote the other day the top religious cleric in the Muslim Brotherhood, Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, announced in Turkey that the new caliphate will be a confederation of different states, all run by Shariah:

“The Caliphate in today’s age must be established through a number of several states that are governed by Shariah and supported by both, the rulers and the people in the form of a federation or confederation and not as it was in the past.”

Ebola outbreak: Senegal confirms first case
Senegal’s health minister has confirmed a first case of Ebola, making it the fifth West African country to be affected by the outbreak. Awa Marie Coll Seck told reporters on Friday that a young man from Guinea had travelled to Senegal despite having been infected with the virus.

Is there a microchip implant in your future?

You can inject one under your skin and no one will ever notice. Using short-range radio frequency identification (RFID) signals, it can transmit your identity as you pass through a security checkpoint or walk into a football stadium. It can help you buy groceries at Wal-Mart. In a worst-case scenario – if you are kidnapped in a foreign country, for example – it could save your life.

Microchip implants like the ones pet owners use to track their dogs and cats could become commonplace in humans in the next decade. Experts are divided on whether they’re appropriate for people, but the implants could offer several advantages. For soldiers and journalists in war zones, an implant could be the difference between life and death. A tracker could also help law enforcement quickly locate a kidnapped child.

“In the long run, chip implants could make it less intrusive than some emerging ID systems which rely on physical biometrics (like your fingerprints or unique eye pattern),” says Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, author of the book “Distraction Addiction” and visiting scholar at Stanford’s University’s Peace Innovation Lab.

“This should be a matter of individual choice, but fighting crime should be much easier using chips,” adds sci-fi author Larry Niven, who predicted chip implants in the ’70s. Niven said he supports chip implantation for security reasons, provided it is an opt-in measure.

Ramez Naam, who led the early development of Microsoft software projects and is now a popular speaker and author, said he envisions using chip implantation to help monitor the location of people with Alzheimer’s disease.

They could be used to track the activities of felons who have been released from prison.

Chips are being used today to manage farm animals. Farmers can track sheep, pigs and horses as they move through a gate, weigh them instantly and make sure they are eating properly.

“Those same chips have found their way into RFID devices to activate the gas pump from a key ring and for anti-theft devices in cars,” said Stu Lipoff, an electrical engineer and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers spokesman.

“There have been people who volunteered to use them for opening the door of an apartment as a personalized ID using your arm. It could be used to track criminals targeted for patrol who might wander into a restricted area.”

Possible uses in the future

Implants are normally useful only at short ranges – as you walk through a portal or close to a transponder. So using chip implants to track people would require an infrastructure of transponders scattered around a city that read their identity in public buildings and street corners, Lipoff said.

But consider the possibilities: People could unlock their homes or cars, gain access to a building, pass through an airport and even unlock their laptops without using a phone or watch. A pin code could be used to activate the chip – or to deactivate it to maintain privacy.

They are easy to install and remove, and, because they are implanted under the skin, they are unobtrusive. The chips, which could be the size of a thumbnail, could be injected into an arm or a hand.

If children were chipped, teachers could take attendance in the classroom. Lipoff said that GPS would not work because skin would block the signal, although new Near Field Communication chips like those in current smartphones could work because of their low-power requirement. However, no-one has yet tried to implant NFC chips.

Police could track cars and read data without needing to scan license plates. At a hospital, administrators could locate a doctor without having to rely on a pager. And if you walked into a donut shop, the owner could read your taste preferences (glazed or not glazed) without needing a loyalty card.

But is it ethical?

Like any tech advancement, there are downsides. Concerns about the wrong people accessing personal information and tracking you via the chips have swirled since the FDA approved the first implantable microchip in 2004.

Naam and Pang both cited potential abuses, from hacking into the infrastructure and stealing your identity to invading your privacy and knowing your driving habits. There are questions about how long a felon would have to use a tracking implant. And, an implant, which has to be small and not use battery power — might not be as secure as a heavily encrypted smartphone.

Troy Dunn, who attempts to locate missing persons on his TNT show “APB with Troy Dunn,” said a chip implant would make his job easier, but he is strongly against the practice for most people. “I only support GPS chip monitoring for convicted felons while in prison and on parole; for sex offenders forever; and for children if parents opt in,” he says. “I am adamantly against the chipping of anyone else.”

Using chip implants to locate abducted children could actually have the opposite effect. Pang says a microchip would make a missing person easier to rescue, but “Kidnappers want ransoms, not dead bodies. The most dangerous time for victims is during rescue attempts or when the kidnappers think the police are closing in.”

And beyond the obvious privacy issues, there’s something strange about injecting a chip in your body, Lipoff says. Yet pacemakers and other embedded devices are commonly used today. “People might find it a bit unsavory, but if it is not used to track you, and apart from the privacy issues, there are many interesting applications,” he says.

At least it’s better than having a barcode stitched onto our foreheads.

White House secretly plotted to blame Israel for collapse of peace talks

This administration is disgusting. They foment hate against Israel simply because Israel wouldn’t accept their horrible peace plan:

FREE BEACON – The Obama administration has been waging a secret media war in capitals across two continents blaming Israel for the recent collapse of peace talks with the Palestinians, according to former Israeli diplomats and Washington, D.C. insiders familiar with the peace process.

Multiple sources told the Washington Free Beacon that top Obama administration officials have worked for the past several days to manufacture a crisis over the reissuing of housing permits in a Jerusalem neighborhood widely acknowledged as Israeli territory.

Senior State Department officials based in Israel have sought to lay the groundwork for Israel to take the blame for talks collapsing by peddling a narrative to the Israeli press claiming that the Palestinians were outraged over Israeli settlements, the Free Beacon has learned.

These administration officials have planted several stories in Israeli and U.S. newspapers blaming Israel for the collapse of peace talks and have additionally provided reporters with anonymous quotes slamming the Israeli government.

The primary source of these multiple reports has been identified as Middle East envoy Martin Indyk and his staff, according to these insiders, who said that the secret media campaign against Israel paved the way for Secretary of State John Kerry to go before Congress on Tuesday and publicly blame Israel for tanking the talks.

“The Palestinians didn’t even know they were supposed to be abandoning negotiations because of these housing permits, which are actually old, reissued permits for areas everyone assumes will end up on the Israelis’ side of the border anyway,” said one senior official at a U.S. based pro-Israel organization who asked to remain anonymous because the Obama administration has in the past retaliated against critics from inside the pro-Israel world.

“Then Martin Indyk started telling anyone who would listen that in fact the Palestinians were angry over the housing issue,” the source said. “Eventually, the Palestinians figured out it was in their interest to echo what the Americans were saying.”

Dangerous, that is what this movie is. Randall lays out exactly why below.

Satan is advancing so rapidly now. I can not imagine how any Christian could stand behind this movie.

It is sort of funny in an odd way that a movie called “Noah” would help fulfill the prophecy that we are now living in the last days, they “Days of Noe”.

Noah, the Film: All Washed Up

The pre-release advertising promoting the movie Noah made a point of stating that while the director took artistic license in the production it was still faithful to the biblical story. Early theater previews were carefully edited to appeal to people of faith, but this is the least biblical “biblical film” of all time! However, to be charitable, the bare outline of the Flood story is present, but after that artistic license has taken the film so far afield of anything resembling the Bible that it is offensive to people of faith.

To say that the biblical story was watered down (pardon the pun) is much too mild. Those who know the Bible were aware of how little the script followed Scripture. Those who didn’t know the Bible still didn’t know it when the final credits appeared. It is to the movie studio’s credit that they chose to even make a film with a biblical theme, but the torturous fiction that was the final cut partly written and directed by an atheist is a discredit to both the studio and the actors and is, in result, worse than having not made it at all.

Remember the old adage of making a bottle of poison look nicer by removing the ugly skull and crossbones label and replacing it with one that read “essence of peppermint?” The bottle now looks pretty, but is even more deadly because of its deceptive label. To a generation that already rejects the Genesis account as pure fiction, mixing a little Bible with a film of impure fiction is even worse – and certainly more dangerous to faith. For those who have not seen the movie and may think my judgments too harsh, please consider the following.

The film presents the sole purpose of Noah and the Ark as the preservation of the innocent animals. The pre-Flood world is portrayed as barren and denuded as the result of human corruption. What could be more evil and deserving of judgment in ecologically-minded Hollywood? Therefore, as Noah interprets God’s purpose, mankind – all of mankind, including Noah and his family – are supposed to die so the new world can continue with only an innocent animal population.

The Ark has nothing to do with the salvation of mankind, but with its punishment. Noah was only chosen to save the animals, and he is so intent on fulfilling his task to see humanity destroyed that he announces to his family on the Ark that they must all die, for “the Creation is only safe when mankind is dead.” For this reason, when Noah learns that Shem’s wife is pregnant, he declares that he will murder her baby, if it is a girl, as soon as it is born!

The ensuing drama aboard the Ark has Mrs. Noah trying to help her expectant kids escape, a crazed Noah stalking his newly born twin granddaughters, and Shem and Ham trying to kill their father (especially after he sets fire to the couple’s escape raft). Add to the drama the evil meat-eating king of the old world, Tubal-Cain, who sneaked on board and remained hidden throughout the voyage, only to finally die in a knife fight with Noah when the Ark lands and breaks in two.

In the end, Noah spares his family because of “love.” Mankind is not so bad after all, for as Mrs. Noah explains, “all the heart needs is love to be good.” God, who has remained silent through the drama on the Ark, despite Noah’s pleas for divine guidance, is shown to have stayed away because, as Noah’s adopted Cainite daughter (the wife of Shem who had been miraculously cured of bareness by a healing touch from Methuselah) states, God wanted to let Noah chose whether mankind should live or not. So, in spite of the ecological hype, it is about humanism in the end. The film closes with newly sober Noah brandishing his snake-skin phylactery (a relic from the serpent in the Garden of Eden) and telling his kids to be “fruitful and multiply” as a rainbow appears (sans the Noahic covenant).
