‘Obama asks for 2-month W. Bank construction moratorium’

In return, US will not demand extension, will commit to UN Security Council vetos, weapon deliveries and presence of Israeli forces in Jordan Valley says David Makovsky of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

US President Barack Obama has requested Israel extend the West Bank settlement construction moratorium by only two months and in return “will not ask for a moratorium extension beyond sixty days,” according to David Makovsky from the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a close associate to Dennis Ross and Obama’s Middle East adviser, Army Radio reported Thursday.

“According to senior US officials,” wrote Makovsky on Wednesday, the Obama administration’s efforts to extend the construction freeze “culminated in a draft letter negotiated with Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak and chief Israeli peace negotiator Yitzhak Molcho, and ultimately sent from President Obama‘s desk to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.”

Iran’s Bushehr electricity production hits two month delay

Atomic chief Salehi says delay is the result of severe hot weather not the computer worm that hit staff computers earlier this week.

Iran‘s first nuclear power plant, Bushehr, will be ready to begin generating electricity by January, two months after the original commencement date, AFP reported on Wednesday.

The chief of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, Ali Akbar Salehi, announced the delay, which was reported on the Iran’s state television’s website. Salehi blamed the delay on the very hot weather Iran has experienced recently, and some safety issues.

Political power up for grabs in education system

This is major and just another great example of the deception that is occurring in these last days.  This is one of many things that is going on under the water or behind closed doors through regulation.

Just imagine if there was no other options but government-funded schools.  The federal government has already, this year taken over all college loan programs.  Which means they have total control over who goes to college.

Now they are after K-12.

Also, imagine what public school would be like if it had no competition from private schools, where would we be today.  Any reform we have gotten, has been due to competition from private a parochial schools.

It is amazing how fast all of this power grab has happened.

Colorado Christian University president Bill Armstrong fears all of higher education — public and private, religious and secular — could become federalized. As he explains in his column, “Stop plan to put colleges under political supervision,” the Department of Education has proposed new rules that will deny regional accreditation to any institution that has not first been given “substantive” state “authorization.” Although the details are sketchy, Armstrong believes this is a political power grab.

Scared investors sitting on the sidelines

Good article on the mindset of investors that are waking up.  It is also a side effect of all of the deception that is going on these days.  People just don’t know what they can trust and so they sit still and wait, uncertain of what ground is stable.  This is what Christ spoke of and told us the parable of the house built on the rock (Christ and God).  We must turn back to him to be saved.

Take a look at the stock market these days, and it’s almost like investors are on strike.

For 20 weeks in a row, Americans have pulled money out of domestic mutual funds. They’ve taken their marbles – $70 billion worth during that time period – and essentially gone home. Some have gone into bonds, and some are just sitting in cash, but the idea of equities just seems to make them queasy. (more…)

European debt woes hit world markets

More Global uncertainty as we see just how close to the cliff we sit as a world.  We know from God’s world that we will have a single world currency and economy during the end times.  What will be the trigger that pushes us over.  Ireland’s debt?  Spain’s debt?  Only God knows, so we must be watchful for signs and turn back to him!

European debt woes hit world markets

LONDON (AP) — A new flare-up in Europe’s debt crisis hit world stock markets Thursday after Ireland announced it would sink more billions into its failed banks and Spain’s public debt rating was downgraded.

Ireland said it would put euro3 billion ($4.1 billion) more into Allied Irish and take majority control. Along with other bailouts, that would push the public deficit above 30 percent of annual economic output, a postwar record in Europe.

Meanwhile, Moody’s Investor Services cut Spain’s public debt rating, a move many in the markets had expected but which confirms that Europe will be slow to emerge from its debt crisis.

Ted Turner blasts U.S. for once again sitting back on climate change

Speaking at the Colorado Conservation Voters annual fall luncheon today, media mogul Ted Turner scolded the United States for failing to sign the Kyoto Protocol and said the rest of the world is waiting for the United States to take a leadership role in clean energy and climate change.

“It is such a complicated issue,” Turner said of climate change. “It is the most complicated issue humanity has ever faced. It is easy to be a naysayer, and the opposition has learned that it is easier to do nothing. They have done a good job of casting some doubt on global warming.”

Gov. Bill Ritter, sitting on stage with Turner and moderator Reggie Rivers, agreed with Turner that climate change is the issue of the day.

“I think we are at a place better than we were at five years ago, but it has become politicized and I think we are in a really difficult place in the country because some really important issues have become politicized and very difficult to work on,” Ritter said.

“Climate change has become a four-letter word, where candidates are afraid to have a discussion on it,” Ritter said.

Wiretapped phones, now Internet?

To better track criminals, U.S. wants to be able to wiretap online communications.

WASHINGTON – Federal law enforcement and national security officials are preparing to seek sweeping new regulations of the Internet, arguing that their ability to wiretap criminal and terrorism suspects is “going dark” as people increasingly communicate online instead of by telephone.

Essentially, officials want Congress to require all services that enable communications — including encrypted e-mail transmitters such as BlackBerry, social networking websites such as Facebook and software that allows direct “peer-to-peer” messaging such as Skype — to be technically capable of complying if served with a wiretap order. The mandate would include being able to intercept and unscramble encrypted messages.

JERUSALEM — Washington’s special envoy to the Mideast is in Israel Wednesday to try and get the stalled peace process back on track and press for a halt to new settlement construction on land the Palestinians want for a future state.

Israel’s own foreign minister highlighted the stiff opposition Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces within his own governing coalition to making concessions to the Palestinians.

I’ve been thinking about unraveling. Actually I’ve been thinking about the Obama administration, unemployment, housing, Afghanistan, our economic/ financial messes, the coming November elections, October surprises, and sand. Sunday I was gone all day. I went to church, I stayed for Sunday school, I went out to eat, and I attended a memorial service for a long time friend, Bud Elkin. I thought I looked pretty good in my khaki slacks, a white knit golf shirt, and my burgundy colored sweater over the top. I needed the sweater because it was cool – Fall was rapidly descending on us here. What I didn’t realize was that I had snagged the sweater around the side of the waist band. One thread of (more…)

Northern Lights at 100-Year Low

(Newser) – The Northern lights are rarer now than they have been for at least a century, but some spectacular light shows are probably on the way, researchers say. The phenomenon, triggered by solar winds, usually follows an 11-year cycle, rising quickly to a maximum before tapering off to a minimum. But researchers say the minimum has been “going on and on and on” since 2008, the Telegraph reports.

A research station near the North Pole which observed the blaze of light in the skies almost nightly during the cycle’s peak saw it less than half the time this year. “We’re waiting to see what happens. Is the next maximum going to be on time, is it going to be late, is it going to be huge?” wondered a Finnish meteorologist. Scientists expect solar activity to soar in 2013, which would bring impressive shows from the Northern—and Southern—lights. Click here for that story.

Lieberman: Military Force Against Iran “If We Absolutely Must”

Lieberman: Military Force Against Iran “If We Absolutely Must”

Senator Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., in what his staff is billing as “a major policy address” on Wednesday, plans to deliver a sharp warning for Iran’s leadership that military action should remain on the table should the authoritarian regime refuse to halt its pursuit of nuclear weapons.

In a speech on “the Future of American Power in the Middle East,” to be delivered at the Council on Foreign Relations, the senator, a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, will “up the rhetorical ante against Iran“, according to an aide, and discuss the next stage if current sanctions do not work.

“It is time to retire our ambiguous mantra about all options remaining on the table. Our message to our friends and enemies in the region needs to become clearer: namely, that we will prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability — by peaceful means if we possibly can, but with military force if we absolutely must,” Lieberman is expected to say, according to his staff who provided the excerpt to Fox News.

Oh boy, this is definitely one turning point.  Are they “allowed” to fire up a nuclear reactor?

As I think about this, it is really amazing where we find ourselves and how far we have shifted from even just a year or two ago.  With all the hate and rhetoric coming from the Iranian administration, it is amazing we would let them have a reactor.  Two years ago we would not have, but we have shifted the debate so far to the point where it is a non-issue for our administration.

Really?  Or are we being deceived?

Salehi: Iran Preparing to Load Fuel into Bushehr Reactor

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi announced on Wednesday that Iran has paved all the necessary grounds for injecting fuel into the Bushehr nuclear power plant reactor.

“Grounds have been paved for loading fuel into the heart of Bushehr’s reactor, including carrying out drills, practices and tests, washing the heart of the reactor and carrying out reactor tests, and we will witness the transfer of fuel (to the reactor) in coming days,” Salehi told reporters.

“We hope to load fuel into the heart of Bushehr by mid Mehr (first week of October) and the power plant would join the national power grid after two to three months,” Salehi noted.

Survey: Americans don’t know much about religion

Interesting study, the numbers are closer than the title leads you to believe, and I was surprised how much weight they put on knowing details about other religions or history of the church verses Bible teachings.  I was also surprised on the results of the bread and wine question.  It would be interesting to see all of the questions, and if there is any past polls that would show you a trend line…even though we know how it is trending.  The Bible tells us.

Survey: Americans don’t know much about religion

A new survey of Americans’ knowledge of religion found that atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons outperformed Protestants and Roman Catholics in answering questions about major religions, while many respondents could not correctly give the most basic tenets of their own faiths.

Forty-five percent of Roman Catholics who participated in the study didn’t know that, according to church teaching, the bread and wine used in Holy Communion is not just a symbol, but becomes the body and blood of Christ.

More than half of Protestants could not identify Martin Luther as the person who inspired the Protestant Reformation. And about four in 10 Jews did not know that Maimonides, one of the greatest rabbis and intellectuals in history, was Jewish.

US envoy in bid to rescue tottering Mideast talks

The US envoy to the Middle East was heading to Israel Tuesday to try to rescue Israeli-Palestinian peace talks brought to the brink of collapse by the resumption of West Bank settlement building.

George Mitchell’s latest mission comes as the United States, which is brokering the talks launched on September 2, tries to prevent a walkout by Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas, who says there is no point talking if Israel keeps building settlements on occupied Palestinian land.

Late Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held talks by telephone described by State Department spokesman Philip Crowley as “very significant, very detailed, very direct.”

IAF ups air base drills due to threat of missile attack

IAF officer: “We need to be able to operate even as rockets and missiles hi the base.”

Fearing unprecedented missile attacks directed at its bases, the Israel Air Force has doubled the number of emergency drills it has carried out since the beginning of the year to prepare pilots and ground crews for continuing to operate in a time of war, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

At the Hatzor IAF base, for example, airmen have carried out 25 drills since the beginning of the year, compared to just 12 last year. The drills vary and include scenarios that involve missile attacks on the base’s runway, living quarters and plane storage facilities.

Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) — Leaders of Group of 20 nations must build a “more harmonized” global currency system to prevent the risk of competitive devaluations, said Jacques de Larosiere, author of a European report into the roots of the financial crisis.

“We have an international monetary system that doesn’t function well,” de Larosiere, the former head of the International Monetary Fund and the Bank of France, said today in an interview with Bloomberg Television in Brussels. “It’s a real concern.”

In my post dated May 19, 2008 this is the warning I gave you.  Keep in mind, my warnings are all based on Jesus has shown me via His Word from the Bible. “I left you with these words on the 16th of May. “In the coming months you will see more people begin to suffer. Why? Because many nations that grow food will see flooding, many will see droughts, and many will see crops being eaten by bugs. These are all signs listed in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke chapter 21. I wanted to tell you this now so that when you see them you will know these warnings came from the bible and God. If you are one of the ones who saw my prophecy slide presentation you would have seen where I pointed out what was going on with the RAT population. In Matthew 24: 7 you see the warning of “pestilences”. I still want you to watch the news for insect invasions in the near future, especially locusts, but in the news today’s we see a small sample of things to come concerning pestilences.”

Back in April, 2010 Australia was hit with a plague of locusts. I want to show you one video report giving you this news. After the video, when you learn that they reported a worse plague could arrive in September, you will learn that in fact that is what is happening and this new plague is a new round of the birth pains.

The world is in the midst of an “international currency war” according to Brazil’s finance minister as governments force down the value of their currencies to boost their struggling economies.

The comments are the first public admission made by a senior policymaker about a practice which has become increasingly widespread since the global economic downturn.

Many countries, notably China, have been deliberately weakening their currencies by selling them on foreign exchanges or keeping interest rates artificially low to make their exports cheaper.

India launches ambitious national identity scheme

India has launched a huge national identity scheme aimed at cutting fraud and improving access to state benefits.

Using biometric methods, including an iris scan, the system will log details of India’s population of more than one billion people on a central database.

It was launched by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress party leader Sonia Gandhi in western India.

The data will be stored online in what India says will be the biggest such national database in the world.

The unique identification (UID) programme will help those in poor, marginalised communities who find it difficult to access public services and benefits because they do not have official records, officials say.

The government expects to give a UID number to every Indian citizen within four years.

Birth registration is not universal and it is hoped that the database will give an accurate picture of Indian society.

Gold barsBased on the information from today’s media, it may not seem plausible to think the gold and silver boom could become bust, but one investor points out that the bubble could soon reach its end.

Every day there are advertisements, sometimes during every commercial break, that proclaim even though gold and silver prices are at an all-time high, they will only get higher. But Art Ally, president of the biblically minded investment group The Timothy Plan, says it is possible that the industry could soon hit rock bottom.

Dollar tumbles, gold hits record high

The dollar sank against the euro and hit a record low point against the Swiss franc on Wednesday while gold struck a new all-time peak, as traders mulled possible US moves to boost its ailing economy.

Meanwhile in Asia, China’s central bank pledged to increase the flexibility of its exchange rate just as US lawmakers were to vote on legislation that could punish Beijing for alleged currency manipulation.

The People’s Bank of China promised to continue to implement an “appropriately loose monetary policy” and “increase currency flexibility”, according to a statement on its website.

Hussman: Second Recession Will Be Declared Soon

Economist John Hussman says the National Bureau of Economic Research will have to declare another recession soon.

Commenting on a recent report from the Business Cycle Dating Committee of the National Bureau of Economic Research that said the recession that began in December 2007 is over, Hussman noted that, “the committee decided that any future downturn of the economy would be a new recession and not a continuation of the recession that began in December 2007.”

“The Committee took pains to make it clear that it was not forecasting the future or suggesting that economic progress has even been very good,” Hussman wrote in a recent note to investors.

He said the bulk of the growth coming off of the June 2009 economic low “was driven by a burst of stimulus spending coupled with a variety of programs to pull economic activity forward.”

1997-2010 Trend: In General, How Much Trust and Confidence Do You Have in the Mass Media When It Comes to Reporting the News Fully, Accurately, and Fairly?

The 43% of Americans who, in Gallup’s annual Governance poll, conducted Sept. 13-16, 2010, express a great deal or fair amount of trust ties the record low, and is far worse than three prior Gallup readings on this measure from the 1970s.

Who Goes in the Rapture?

Our new book, The Departure: God’s Next Catastrophic Intervention into Earth’s History, will be officially released October 2, God willing. I say “our” book” because a number of the most knowledgeable authorities in Bible prophecy have written chapters on the most relevant topics of our day. All issues and events involving what we consider to have prophetic import are, of course, looked at through the supernatural prism of God’s Word, the Bible. I consider it “our” book, not just mine.

More than that, I believe each of us who wrote for it considers it to be a volume devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ for these troubling although exciting times. We trust it will be a tool to help edify those who are in God’s family by pointing to the very real evidence that proves the coming of “the blessed hope” of Titus 2:13 is likely very near. To that extent, that’s another reason I call it “our” book. It’s written for all believers alive today, with the prayerful hope God’s family will awaken to Christ’s imminent coming.

I don’t understand why more ministers and churches talk about prophecy.

It is so inspiring and reassuring that we believe in the One True God.

It affirms our faith and makes us stronger.

There is loads of information given as well as very good context.

I especially like the end of the 3rd and 4th segment.  When he talks about the fiery furnace from Daniel as a picture of end times prophecy and also what the true test of belief in True Christ is that Jesus is God.

Since WaMu Fell, 279 Lenders Have Collapsed; Lost Jobs, Curtailed Lending and the Big Get Bigger

The largest number of bank failures in nearly 20 years has eliminated jobs, accelerated a drought in lending and left the industry’s survivors with more power to squeeze customers.

Some 279 banks have collapsed since Sept. 25, 2008, when Washington Mutual Inc. became the biggest bank failure on record. That dwarfed the 1984 demise of Continental Illinois, which had only one-seventh of WaMu’s assets. The failures of the past two years shattered the pace of the prior six-year period, when only three dozen banks died.

Looks like China has taken first steps to retaliate against the strong talk and bill working its way through congress.  As I mentioned before, this could be a trigger point if at any time China decided to stop buying our debt and began to de-invest in our debt that they currently hold.

NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of the nation’s chicken producers could tumble on Monday after China said it will slap a hefty tariff on U.S. chicken imports to combat what it says are unfairly low prices.

The Chinese government said Sunday that its investigation found that U.S. chicken products are being sold at low prices which undermine the local market. New import duties ranging from 50.3 percent to as much as 105.4 percent will take effect Monday and last for five years.

Sarkozy Tries to Take Over for Obama in Mideast Talks

Flamboyant French President Nicolas Sarkozy met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Paris on Monday and announced he will ask to host a new summit with the PA, Israel and Egypt next month. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has said he would be willing to talk with Abbas “at any time.”

US praises Abbas’s ‘restraint’ as settlement freeze ends

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States on Monday voiced disappointment after Israel ended its settlement freeze, but praised the “restraint” shown by Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas.

“We are disappointed, but remain focused on our long term objectives,” State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said after Israel failed to extend the 10-month moratorium on settlement construction.

“In our discussions with both sides over the weekend, we encouraged restraint whenever a decision was made on the Israeli side,” Crowley told reporters as the freeze formally ended at midnight (2200 GMT Sunday).

“The Palestinian response so far reflects the restraint… The restraint at this point is appreciated.”

What can I say to this but Wow!

Many prophecy scholars have theorized about what role, aliens or UFO’s could play in rationalizing or explaining away coming end times events.  But when I saw this article, it struck me that the infrastructure was being laid to have the necessary pieces in place.

I still can’t get over how much this reflects the Hollywood movies we have grown up on.

Sometimes I wonder if some people get confused between reality and cinema.  Things have gotten so real these days with CG I, that you can’t believe your eyes as to what is real and what is computer generated.  That has blurred the lines and I think a lot of the movies we see coming out, are moving the window of acceptability or plausibility so that the general public will quickly buy into the deception they will be fed to cover up coming end time events.

We must be watchful, and continue to wake people up, turning them back to God…

U.N. Appoints ‘First Contact’ for Visiting Space Aliens

The United Nations is set to appoint an obscure Malaysian astrophysicist to act as Earth’s first contact for any aliens that may come visiting.

Mazlan Othman, the head of the U.N.’s little-known Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa), will describe her potential new role next week at a scientific conference at the Royal Society’s Kavli conference center in Buckinghamshire, England.

She will tell delegates that the recent discovery of hundreds of planets around other stars has made the detection of extraterrestrial life more likely than ever before — and that means the U.N. must be ready to coordinate humanity’s response to any “first contact.”

U.S. Wants Broader Internet Wiretap Authority

This is just one of many requests for additional powers without the need of a warrant.  The administration is trying to expand this on many fronts:  Internet wiretaps, GPS location in “public” areas, easier wiretapping of all mobile devices, and the use of X-Ray equipped vans (they have 500 today) that drive our neighborhoods, searching vehicles and homes without warrants.

It all seems like something out of a sci-fi movie or at least a Bond flick.  But it is not, it is very much real.

As we move toward these last days, the government will need to gather more and more control over its citizens.  This will all culminate with the final Antichrist regime.

Luckily, we will be gone before his presence can be unleashed.  Jesus promises to rapture us and keep us from the worst.

U.S. Wants Broader Internet Wiretap Authority

The Obama administration is developing plans that would require all Internet-based communication services — such as encrypted BlackBerry e-mail, Facebook, and Skype — to be capable of complying with federal wiretap orders, according to a report published Monday.

National security officials and federal law enforcement argue their ability to eavesdrop on terror suspects is increasingly “going dark,” The New York Times reported, as more communication takes place via Internet services, rather than by traditional telephone.

The bill, which the White House plans to deliver to Congress next year, would require communication service providers be technically capable of intercepting and decrypting messages, raising serious privacy concerns, the Times said.

The proposal has “huge implications” and poses a test to the “fundamental elements of the Internet revolution,” vice president of the Center for Democracy and Technology, James Dempsey, told the Times.

“They basically want to turn back the clock and make Internet services function the way that the telephone system used to function,” he was quoted as saying.

Scholar: Take Iran seriously

Sometimes the truth is so simple that all the noise of our lives these days distract us from the common sense that usually leads to the truth.  Joel tends to cut through a lot of that noise.  He sums it up so well.

“When you have a regime that has an apocalyptic, genocidal death cult running it, combined with being right on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons, [I] can’t think of a more dangerous circumstance than this,” Rosenberg suggests.

Wish our current administration was willing to do more than talk…

There are powers at work here that only God understands fully.  These national/global figures are in place for a reason.  To bring about God’s will, either willingly or through God’s influence.  Read up on the Twelfth Imam, it matches the Bibles description of the Antichrist.  I will post more on what the Bible has to say on the Antichrist soon…

Scholar: Take Iran seriously

Prior to Ahmadinejad’s U.N. address last week, Joel Rosenberg, author of the soon-to-be-released novel The Twelfth Iman, predicted that the Iranian strongman would make more outrageous and bellicose statements — and he did not disappoint, says Rosenberg.

Joel RosenbergThe American U.N. delegation actually walked out of the assembly hall after the Iranian president claimed that some in the world have speculated that Americans were actually behind the September 11, 2001, terror attacks and that it was a staged attempt to assure Israel’s survival.

More pain in europe as they begin facing reality of over promising.  Is this a glimpse of what we will see here in the US once we finally face reality.

We are in almost the exact same situation as Greece and Romania, except that we are not tied to other countries through a shared currency, so we are free to inflate ours, devaluing the dollar, at will.

All of this is guiding the nations of the world toward a global government, question is will in culminate before or at the point of the Antichrist’s rise.
