The Black Box That Dictates Tax and Spend
“Fiscal multipliers.”
It’s a black box term used in DC to determine which tax and spend policies deliver the biggest bang for the buck, a term that is so cryptic, even economists can’t quite agree on how they work.
But fiscal multipliers can do great damage to your wallet because they dictate all sorts of tax and spend legislation.
Notably, this theoretical bling is used to justify the DC fiscal dipsomaniacs’ very expensive Keynesian spending “multipliers.”
More and more spending that creates a possible devaluation of the dollar which creates inflation. Since all sorts of taxes, including the capital gains tax, the estate tax, and the alternative minimum tax, are not indexed to inflation, taking more taxes from you and me due to government-caused inflation is immoral.
Fiscal multipliers also provide political cover for almost any legislative science project Congress cooks up.

US Government ‘hiding true amount of debt’
THE actual figure of the US’ national debt is much higher than the official sum of $US13.4 trillion ($14.3 trillion) given by the Congressional Budget Office, according to analysts cited on Sunday by the New York Post.
“The Government is lying about the amount of debt. It is engaging in Enron accounting,” said Laurence Kotlikoff, an economist at Boston University and co-author of The Coming Generational Storm: What You Need to Know about America’s Economic Future.
“The problem is we’re seeing an explosion in spending,” added Andrew Moylan, director of government affairs for the National Taxpayers Union.

Fed Signals It May Take Further Steps to Boost Economy
The Federal Reserve on Tuesday inched closer to fresh steps to bolster a sluggish U.S. recovery, saying it stood ready to provide more support for the economy and expressing concerns about low inflation.
The U.S. central bank’s policy-setting panel made no shift in monetary policy at the end of a one-day meeting, keeping overnight interest rates near zero, but it opened the door wider to pumping more money into the economy.
“The committee will continue to monitor the economic outlook and financial developments and is prepared to provide additional accommodation if needed to support the economic recovery and to return inflation, over time, to levels consistent with its mandate,” the Fed said in a statement.
After its meeting on August 10, the Fed had simply said it would “employ its policy tools as necessary.” The Fed underscored its concerns over slowing inflation in its statement on Tuesday, saying the underlying rate of inflation was below levels consistent with its mandate for price stability and full employment.

In his 1977 Ecoscience textbook, Holdren calls for a “planetary regime” to carry out forced abortions and mandatory sterilization procedures, as well as drugging the water supply, in an effort to cull the human surplus.
It is good to know what is buried just below the surface of these movements.

Energy Department Says It Has ‘Mandate’ to Force ‘Market Transformation’ for Household Appliances
Assistant Secretary of Energy Cathy Zoi said Thursday that the U.S. Department of Energy has a “mandate” to issue regulations to determine what household appliances are available to Americans in the future.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the recently reestablished Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB), Zoi pointed to four tactics the Obama administration intended use to advance the “deployment of clean energy.” The first three were government subsidies for private-sector green energy projects, special tax incentives for green energy projects and low-interest government-backed loans for green energy projects.
“The fourth one, which the secretary and I love,” said Zoi, “is where we have a mandate. Where we can actually just issue regulations and do market transformation.”

This article is a little disturbing, not only because they do not plan on telling us what is genetically modified but that they feel we are to dump to understand any warning they could use. They won’t even let companies tell is theirs is modification free.

FDA won’t allow food to be labeled free of genetic modification
That the Food and Drug Administration is opposed to labeling foods that are genetically modified is no surprise anymore, but a report in the Washington Post indicates the FDA won’t even allow food producers to label their foods as being free of genetic modification.
In reporting that the FDA will likely not require the labeling of genetically modified salmon if it approves the food product for consumption, the Post’s Lyndsey Layton notes that the federal agency “won’t let conventional food makers trumpet the fact that their products don’t contain genetically modified ingredients.”

Fed Mulls Trillion-Dollar Policy Question
How much of a boost to the U.S. recovery could another trillion dollars or two buy?
That’s a tricky question for the Federal Reserve when it meets Tuesday to debate what would warrant pumping more money into the financial system.
To battle the financial crisis, the Fed bought $1.7 trillion of longer-term Treasury and mortgage-related bonds, supplementing its pledge to keep interest rates near zero for a long time.
All told, it helped stabilize a collapsing financial system and to avert what could have been a second Great Depression.
Now, faced with a 9.6 percent jobless rate and below-target inflation, Fed policymakers are trying to gauge how much they could achieve if they resume massive quantitative easing.
Few analysts expect the Fed to launch a new round of bond buying this week, and uncertainty over the impact of fresh moves may be a factor keeping the central bank on the sidelines.
“I think part of the hesitancy of the committee to use quantitative easing a second time around relates to views of its effectiveness,” said Vince Reinhart, a former Fed staffer.

There are three areas the government can go to get access to additional revenue:
Gold confiscation, (Look up what FDR did in 1930s, also see other postings, earlier today, for 2010 version)
Property confiscation (What percent of home loans do you think the government now controls? almost 90%, yeah that’s right!), or
Retirement account confiscation. (Next up…)
The Government has a problem. It is growing so fast it can’t sustain itself. The average public federal employee is paid $120k, where the private employee is paid $60k on average. But he is paying for the federal employee. Also, there is a rise in unemployment to almost 17% if you consider those that have given up. But the Federal Government has lost zero jobs, they have actually been adding.
The paper sums it up well:
“But it (the government) has a very serious problem. It can’t sustain itself – let alone keep growing – on the back
of the existing tax base.”
On top of that there are two other areas of pain looming on the horizon:
– The US “AAA” credit rating is hanging by a thread. (If we lose this, the interest on our debt we are financing goes through the roof.)
– The foreign investors (mostly China & Japan) are balking at buying anymore debt. (Uncle Sam is seen as riskier than blue chip firms now – Washington Post.)
Solution?
The biggest source of hereto largely untapped revenue for US politicians is private retirement accounts.
60 million households
401k – $4 trillion
include 403b’s, HSA, IRAs & others – $15 trillion
It may not happen suddenly (like in Argentina), but prerequisites are already being readied for implementation.
Here are some quotes from the paper linked below:
The 40l(k)/IRA de-privatization plan is the brain-child of one of the left’s rising stars, the
bright and inventive leftwing academic Teresa Ghilarducci. While Ghilarducci insists 40l(k)s will still
be “legal” under her plan, the thrust of her idea was revealed on a 2008 radio interview in which she
said, “I’m just rearranging the tax breaks that are available now for 40l(k)s and spreading – spreading
the wealth…”
Just rearranging (nudging) the tax breaks available now to spread…wait for it…the…wealth…
In a 2009 research paper, Ghilarducci declared “Guaranteed Retirement Accounts [GRAs] are
like universal 401(k) plans except that the government, as befits a large and enduring institution, will
invest and manage the pooled savings.” That’s because, as the professorial Ghilarducci believes,
“Humans often lack the foresight, discipline, and investing skills required to sustain a savings plan.”
(Of course, that analysis of “humans” would not apply to left-leaning PhDs, members of Congress, and
bossy bureaucrats – who somehow are endowed with the skills needed to manage everyone else’s
investments.)
Wow, guess we know where we rank. Good think they are there to serve the people…on wait, that doesn’t match…
Under the Ghilarducci Plan, 50% of your GRA automatically goes to the government upon
your passing, not your heirs. And that’s just for starters. Future tax deferments to 401(k)s and IRAs
would be scrapped in exchange for a supposedly guaranteed 3% annual real return.
Hmm, give up total control to get guaranteed 3% annual real return. And they get half when I die…sounds fair.
Backers of government-controlled accounts stress that 401(k)s will still be “legal” under her
plan – yet if 401(k)/IRA tax advantages are removed, employers will no longer have a financial
incentive to offer them at all. (All part of an active “herding” process to force private retirement funds
into government-approved “investments.”)
Again with the nudging, or is that a shove, maybe even a take down…
Sorry for the sarcasm, but this is really incredible. The gall to make some of these statements and bold recommendations. You really need to download the document and read it in its entirety. It is very eye-opening.

Financially, we are being herded into very narrow options. Our government is needing to control us to a point of no options, all to keep up the illusion and deception that they can fix our economy or that it is built on sand.
Basic finance tells you that in down times, you head to bonds and t-bills. If you don’t trust bonds and t-bills, then you head to Gold, Silver, or physical assets to preserve your wealth and wait out the down times till you can buy back in.
What the government is doing is forcing us down a funnel. The GM and Chrysler fiasco last year paired with the struggling states and cities has tainted the bond market. With the unknown health of the US government and the Feds willingness to print currency to cover debt, T-Bills are unattractive. That left Gold, Silver and other physical assets. Physical assets, real estate, has taken a large hit, which left Gold and Silver.
“Just as the government is trying to prevent people from investing in anything other than T-Bills by raising taxes on taxable interest and dividends to confiscatory levels, it’s also trying to prevent you from parking your wealth in assets, like gold, that compete with the paper dollars issued by the Federal Reserve and the Treasury.”
This last resort investment is the newest target of the government to attempt to drive investors back into T-Bills all under the deceptive guise of protecting the consumer from unscrupulous gold vendors. It could be political too.
… a September 23 hearing of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection… will focus on “legislation that would regulate gold-selling companies, an industry who’s [sic] relentless advertising is now staple of cable television.”
…”Under Rep. Weiner’s bill, companies like Goldline would be required to disclose the reasonable resale value of items being sold.” That’s great. Are Mr. Weiner and Chairman Bernanke also going to agree to print on every dollar the reasonable expectation that its value will be eroded by inflation?
And why do they feel such excess is needed: The fear of hyperinflation. But….
The whole situation is amazing. If Mr. Weiner really wants to calm fears about hyperinflation, the last way to do it is to have a government hearing cracking down on the people warning of it.
So where is this all headed.
It is just another sign or thread of our government putting the controls in place so that they control all the exits (places you can put your money). It is the intersection of One World Currency, One World Government, and the Mark of the Beast. Because you can’t convience (force) someone to take a mark that will control all investments and purchases, if they are invested in Gold and Silver. Bottom Line.

High-fructose corn syrup is cheaper than cane sugar and acts as a food preservative, too, so the food industry loves the stuff. But it’s been added to so many foods — yogurt, cereal, bread, drinks and even condiments — that researchers have fingered it as a culprit in the obesity epidemic.

So where is the line these days? It has been so rubbed out, it looks like the batters box at the end of nine innings.
The government is positioning itself as the solution to everything.
Is it right to use Elmo to sell the “right” to free broadband?
Watch the video, it is very good at laying out the plan.
Two take aways: It is redistribution of wealth, they are targeting low-income specifically.
But second, it was interesting toward the end of the video, the expert stated: it would be too hard to determine who has it and who doesn’t, we will just give it to all of them, and if they already have it then they can use the money for other things.
So much for the argument that the government is more efficient…
Wonder if that would hold true on health care?
Bottom line, this is deception on so many levels, the goal is control and dependency.

It will be interesting to see what twists and turns this process takes. Especially with the US leaning toward the PA side via actions while saying they support Israel.
The United States has adopted almost all of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s demands that a new PA state should include all of Judea and Samaria and parts of Jerusalem that were restored to Israel in the Six-Day War in 1967, nearly 2,000 years after the destruction of the Second Temple and the end of Jewish rule over the city. Many PA clerics and leaders deny that the Temples ever existed.
We know true peace will not come until Israel signs a seven-year peace agreement with the Antichrist. Both the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 wars need to occur before that point.

EXCLUSIVE: Venezuela Cancels Round-Trip ‘Terror Flight’ to Syria and Iran

A Venezuelan airline’s “mystery” flight that shuttled among the capitals of three of the world’s most terror-friendly nations — Venezuela, Syria and Iran — has abruptly canceled its regularly scheduled departures amid accusations that it was used primarily to transport spies, terrorists and lethal cargo among the pariah counties.
“I am sorry, but we are no longer flying to Tehran and I do not know when the flights will resume. It was a flight that left Caracas on Tuesdays, but it no longer does,” Jenny Gil Romero, who handles international departures for Conviasa, the national airline that operates the flight, said in a message to FOX News.
Messages to the airline seeking further information went unanswered.
Romero’s comments came in response to FOXNews.com’s efforts to buy tickets on the regularly scheduled, 48-hour round trip from Caracas to Damascus to Tehran, then back again.
Intelligence analysts with both the CIA and Israel said that, despite the listing of the flight as a regular commercial route and a code share with Iran air — Flight IR744 is also Flight VO3744 — there was no way that anyone could buy a ticket and travel without being vetted by the Venezuelan or Iranian government.And without passport controls, flight manifests and other documents, it meant some of the world’s most dangerous men could travel without fear of being uncovered.
Curiously, unlike most other bookings on the national airline, calls for reservations on this particular flight were routed to a cell phone in Argentina, rather than to Conviasa’s regular service in Caracas.
The Venezuelan ambassador to the United States had defended the flights as recently as two weeks ago in response to criticism in a State Department report that cited the flight’s questionable route and procedures. Messages left at the Venezuelan embassy’s press office and the ambassador’s office were not returned, and a list of questions submitted to the embassy’s press office was not answered.
For the past three years, every other Tuesday, Flight VO3744 would roll out to a secluded loading platform at Simon Bolivar Airport in Caracas. Shrouded from public view and unencumbered by the normal exit procedures, a select passenger list would board the flight.
Over the next 48 hours, according to Western intelligence agencies, Venezuelan opposition figures and a former Iran-based spy for the CIA, the flight would carry illicit, lethal cargoes — such as explosives and possibly radioactive materials — and provide safe passage to terrorists, spies, weapons experts, senior Iranian intelligence operatives and members of both Hezbollah and Hamas.
Reza Kahlili, the pseudonym for an Iranian who the CIA has confirmed once spied for the United States as a member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, told FoxNews.com these “special flights” have been “instrumental in creating an Iranian dominated worldwide terror network that now reaches the United States.” He said the flights were used to expand Iran’s efforts to create a base of operations in the Western Hemisphere.
Peter Brookes, a former Defense Department analyst and CIA employee now with the Heritage Foundation, said there was a steady stream of elite Al Quds officers from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard who were transported to Venezuela aboard the flight and took up positions in the Latin American country’s intelligence service.
“We can’t say for sure what is going on, but it is clandestine and secretive,” he said.
Intelligence agencies are known to suspect the flight may be part of Iran’s program to build nuclear weapons. Venezuela has large deposits of uranium, and — while raw uranium transport is unlikely by plane — an Internet page in Caracas used by airline employees stated that the flights carried “radioactive materials.” The page was quickly shut down after the allegation was made, according to El Pais, a newspaper in Madrid, Spain.
Experts and Venezuelan opposition figures also say the influx of Iranians, as well as Hezbollah and Hamas operatives, into Venezuela on the flight was to prepare for a retaliatory strike against the U.S. if there was an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
According to Kahlili, the flight was used to transport Imad Mughniyeh, one of the most wanted men in the world, between Damascus and Tehran before he was assassinated in Lebanon in 2008. Mughniyeh, a top Hezbollah operative, was believed responsible for the 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy as well as the Marine barracks in Beirut that killed over 350 people. He was also accused of planning the bombing of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1992.
More recently it was the flight to which Abdul Kadir, the Guyanese member of Parliament who was convicted in the attempted bombing of fuel pipelines at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, was headed when he was arrested. Kadir was accused at his trial of being an Iranian spy.

Muslims Protest Moment of Silence
Hartford’s City Council revoked its offer for an imam to say a prayer at Monday’s meeting, but outside City Hall on Monday night, Imam Kashif Abdul-Karim prayed for the city, in Arabic and English.
“We beseech you to help our leaders to decide with wisdom,” said Imam Kashif.
The Hartford City Council had invited imams to start its two September meetings with prayer, including the meeting on Monday. It was meant to show solidarity with Muslims at a time of controversy over the proposed mosque near Ground Zero and the possible Koran burning. Instead, it brought on a slew of hateful emails and phone calls. Amid the public outcry, the council revoked that decision after public outcry.
Some who protested said the timing was simply too close to the September 11th anniversary.
“It’s basically just disrespecting the whole Muslim community by lumping us together with 12 people out of 1.5 billion people around the world,” Imam Kashif said, speaking of some of the 19 terrorists who carried out the attacks.

Op-ed: West increasingly currying favor with Islamists while ignoring their murderous tendencies
When philosophy professor Tom Hickey, one of the initiators of the British academic boycott on Israel, was asked why he refrained from imposing a boycott on the US and Russia too over their actions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Chechnya, he responded without flinching that these states are too big and powerful, making such boycott ineffective.
Indeed, too often size dictates one’s position, even when it comes to philosophy professors, who on normal days would be horrified by the very thought that their students would seek to apply ethical principles based on considerations of size, power, and effectiveness.
And so, the greater the Islamic threat becomes, the more we see the Free World growing silent on the moral front. The clear tendency of Hickey and his ilk is to endorse almost any Islamist fanatic just to elicit some moderate tunes; for example, the growing Obama Administration’s tendency to “understand” the Muslims, among other things because “Islam is part of promoting global peace,” because “Jihad is about purifying,” and because “there is no connection between Islam and the murder of innocents.”
The above explains why people all over the world in recent days became so horrified by the pyromaniac fantasies of some crazy Florida minister, while completely ignoring Islamic threats to reignite America and the rest of the West, nine years after the September 11 attacks.

Criticism of Islam – media’s ‘hypersensitive’ topic
A conservative media watchdog says the recent coverage of the threatened Quran burnings by a small Florida church demonstrates that the mainstream liberal media have a “hypersensitivity” to criticism of Islam.
In the end, Pastor Terry Jones of the tiny Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville called off last Saturday’s planned 9/11 anniversary Quran burning and the controversy quickly faded. But in the days leading up to anticipated event, the media went on a feeding frenzy covering the controversy, from the standpoint of how offended Muslims would be if copies of the Quran were incinerated.
Tim Graham, director of media analysis at the Media Research Center, says the media clearly made a mountain out of a mole hill on the story.
“This is a story in which they would usually say, ‘Why would we pay attention to one pastor with a flock of 50?'” he states. (more…)

‘Unpaid pay czar’ got 6-figure salary
Contrary to press reports that he would not be compensated, uncovered Treasury Department documents reveal President Obama’s pay czar, Kenneth Feinberg, received a $120,830 annual salary.The documents were obtained by the public interest group Judicial Watch in a Freedom of Information Act request filed July 20.
Following Judicial Watch’s discovery, Feinberg then released a statement saying he did, indeed, receive the salary, but that he gave the money back.

In my prior article for Fox News Opinion, I posed seven questions of Pastor Terry Jones, concerning his (now suspended) plans to burn copies of the Koran on September 11. There is also the need to pose questions of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and his Cordoba House planned near Ground Zero.
In his September 7 New York Times opinion piece, and subsequent media appearances, Imam Rauf has defined an Islamic commitment to “building bridges,” and “fostering understanding and peace.”
As a Christian, there’s a biblical assumption that genuine understanding and bridge building are rooted in the power to love hard questions – where the mutual honor of an equal humanity is assumed for all people.

The BLS has announced that as a result of the Labor Day weekend, 9 states (among which the biggest one California) did not report initial claims data to the bean counters, so instead the government had to “estimate” what the data would have been: yep, estimate, what the data was in these nine states.
From Bloomberg: “For the latest reporting week, nine states didn’t file claims data to the Labor Department in Washington because of the Labor Day holiday earlier this week, a department official told reporters. California and Virginia estimated their figures and the U.S. government estimated the other seven.”
Official data is now made up on the fly. This US economic data reporting has just entered the twilight zone. Also, when the data is officially made up, it is not that difficult to get data that is “better than expected.” The full list of states is: DC, Illinois, Idaho, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Washington. California and Virginia estimated themselves.

Journalism: That the media were in the tank for Barack Obama in 2008 is almost a given. But how much they favored him is now being quantified, and the margins appear to be even wider than those for liberal candidates of the past.
Thanks to the Washington Examiner, which analyzed data from the Center for Responsive Politics, we learn that “senior executives, on-air personalities, producers, reporters, editors, writers and other self-identifying employees of ABC, CBS and NBC” were overwhelmingly in the Obama camp.
Overall, 1,160 employees of the big three networks gave Democratic candidates and campaign committees $1.02 million, while 193 contributed $142,863 to Republican candidates and campaign committees. That’s a 7-to-1 ratio.
