They are worried about Syria and Egypt, both part of the Psalm 83 prophecy.
22 reserve battalions is quite a bit to ready, six heading into service this week.
Things are heating up, I have also read some articles that Israel must strike before our election in November, due to the concern of the “flexibility” Obama’s second term could bring.
Something to watch, I will try to find and post the other article.
The IDF has issued emergency call up orders to six reserve battalions in light of new dangers on the Egyptian and Syrian borders. And the Knesset has given the IDF permission to summon a further 16 reserve battalions if necessary, Israeli media reported on Wednesday.
An IDF spokesperson said intelligence assessments called for the deployment of more soldiers. An army statement highlighted last August’s infiltration from the Sinai north of Eilat in which eight Israelis were killed, and said the subsequent division of that area into two distinct military zones necessitated additional manpower.
According to 2008′s Reserve Duty Law, combat soldiers can be called for active reserve duty once every three years, and for short training sessions during the other two. Rising tensions between Israel and Egypt and the ongoing unrest in Syria caused the army to ask the Knesset for special permission to call up more soldiers, more often.
The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee approved the request recently, enabling the IDF to summon up to 22 battalions for active duty for the second time in three years. Already, the army has called up six of them.
“This signifies that the IDF regards the Egyptian and Syrian borders as the potential source of a greater threat than in the past,” the former deputy chief of staff, Dan Harel, said on Wednesday night.
This article from this weekend really caught my attention.
I think it really sums up well the Apostasy that Christ warned us of in the last days.
The article actually tries to spin it as that we, as Americans, still value the Bible but if you read on you will see the statistics clearly show a lack of understanding or following/studying of God’s Word.
A couple of the troubling statements:
While nearly half of Americans (47%) believe the Bible has too little influence in society—a far cry from the anti-faith picture often painted in culture—approximately half (46%) say they read the Bible no more than once or twice a year.
and
And approximately half of Americans surveyed didn’t know the fundamental differences between the teachings of the Bible, Koran and Book of Mormon, with 46% percent saying they believe all three books teach the same spiritual truths.
They call these facts “encouraging and unsettling”. I am not sure where they find the encouragement it is pretty unsettling.
And “47% of Americans believe the Bible has too little influence in society”, not sure I would call that a far cry from the anti-faith picture, that’s almost half!
After all the very visible fighting about public displays of religious symbols— from 10 Commandments plaques to graveyard crosses to faith-themed war memorials to holiday manger displays—you might have developed the impression that most Americans don’t think the Bible matters today and they like it that way.
You’d be wrong.
There is a lot of speculation about both the current role and the appropriate role of the Bible in America. But each year, American Bible Society puts the guessing aside and asks a sampling of Americans to tell us how they view and use the Bible and what they believe its role should be in America. Recently, American Bible Society released this year’s results from that research in the 2012 State of the Bible report.
The State of the Bible in America in 2012 can be summed up in a two words: encouraging and unsettling.
The research, commissioned by American Bible Society and conducted by Barna Research, found that the majority of Americans (69%) believe the Bible provides answers on how to live a meaningful life. But while 79% believe they are knowledgeable about the Bible, 54% were unable to correctly identify the first five books of the Bible. And approximately half of Americans surveyed didn’t know the fundamental differences between the teachings of the Bible, Koran and Book of Mormon, with 46% percent saying they believe all three books teach the same spiritual truths.
A “super-powerful EU president” set off alarms in my head about the rise of the final Roman Empire from Revelation.
The quote from the article that really sealed it for me was the third paragraph:
Opponents fear the plan could create a modern-day equivalent of the European emperor envisaged by Napoleon Bonaparte or a return to the Holy Roman Empire of Charlemagne that dominated Europe in the Dark Ages.
And there it is. Something to keep an eye on, things are really picking up. I will list some of the other key signs I found over the last few days as well.
Time is short!
May God bless us to do His will in these last days!
SENIOR Eurocrats are secretly plotting to create a super-powerful EU president to realise their dream of abolishing Britain and other nation states, the Daily Express can reveal.
A covert group of EU foreign ministers has drawn up plans for merging the jobs currently done by Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, and Jose Manuel Barroso, president of the European Commission.
The new bureaucrat, who would not be directly elected by voters, is set to get sweeping control over the entire EU and force member countries into ever-greater political and economic union. Tellingly, the UK has been excluded from the confidential discussions within the shady “Berlin Group” of Europhile politicians, spearheaded by German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle.
Opponents fear the plan could create a modern-day equivalent of the European emperor envisaged by Napoleon Bonaparte or a return to the Holy Roman Empire of Charlemagne that dominated Europe in the Dark Ages. They are concerned that David Cameron’s coalition Government is doing nothing to prevent the sinister plot. The secret talks were uncovered by Independent Labour peer Lord Stoddart of Swindon. Quake Expert: Earth Cracking Up
A leading earthquake scientist has warned that the planet could be cracking up after a series of massive quakes in just 48 hours.
Expert Gheorghe Marmureanu – from Romania’s National Institute of Earth Physics – says 39 quakes had hit the globe within two days.
The series started with two massive quakes in Indonesia measuring 8.6 and 8.2 on the Richter scale rapidly followed by three more only slightly smaller in Mexico within hours.
“There is no doubt that something is seriously wrong. There have been too many strong earthquakes,” said Marmureanu.
He added: “The quakes are a surprise that cannot be easily explained by current scientific knowledge. With the Indonesian quake for example, statistically, there should be one big earthquake in this part of Asia every 500 years. However, since 2004, there were already three quakes with a magnitude of over 8, which is not normal.

Today is the day we remember the willing sacrifice that Christ became for our salvation. He was crucified to death on a wooden cross and made a spectacle for the world to see – yet it was His choice to die. Oh the people of that day, the Romans and the Jewish leaders thought they were in control, that they were simply killing a man who claimed to be God, whom they mocked with a sign that said “King of the Jews”. But the ones that knew Him, while they didn’t completely understand what was going on at the time, the knew He could have saved Himself from this ‘punishment’. After all they had seen Him do miraculous things, even bringing Lazarus back from the dead.
So why did He choose to die if he could have saved himself?
Remember when Jesus was in the garden before His death and He pleaded for God to take this cup from Him?
Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” … Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” Matthew 26: 38-39,42
I saw this amazing clip below from a sermon Paul Washer did some years back where he asks the question ‘what was in the cup that made Jesus tremble in the garden?’ The answer can’t be captured in some cheesy cliché that you’ve heard your whole life. It is far too profound.

I think a conflict is very close, in today’s headlines there was also a couple of articles on rockets fired from Egypt (first time in many, many years) and a warning issued by the IDF chief of any provocations.
It is simply amazing to see God’s Word, predictions, prophecy, from thousands of years ago coming to fruition.
Praise God! Thank you for Your word, and Your Son’s blessed assurance.
IDF chief of staff, other senior officers, arrive at two key military bases in northern Israel to review operations.
Fearing a future war with Syria, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.- Gen. Benny Gantz held a surprise drill inspection of two key military bases in the North on Sunday to ensure that they will be able to continue operating in the event of significant missile attacks.
Commanders at the bases – one a critical ammunition depot and the other a key maintenance base for IDF armored vehicles – were surprised when Gantz and other senior officers arrived at the gates of their bases to review operations there.
A senior IDF officer who participated in the inspections said that they were aimed at ensuring the military’s readiness for a wide range of scenarios including possible war with Syria as well as additional border demonstrations like those held over the weekend.
“Our assumption is that both of these bases will come under major missile fire in a future war and nevertheless, soldiers there will need to know how to continue to operate,” the officer said.
The officer said that commanders and soldiers at both bases had invested in digging trenches as well as the construction of various reinforced structures throughout the bases that could be used to protect soldiers.
Bill Whittle talks about Republicans and Democrats taking away our rights, specifically our First and Fifth Amendment rights:
How do you overturn fundamental American rights without forcing people into the streets with protest signs, or even rifles? By doing it slowly… slowly… Bill Looks at how the Affordable Care Act and the National Defense Authorization Act threaten our First and Fifth Amendment rights and how both parties are slowly taking away the protections that guard us from the Ring of Power.

I find myself screaming at the Computer monitor as I see article after article , video after video, outlining the path we are traveling as a nation.
As I go throughout my day, no one seems to be concerned, oblivious might be a better term. If you try to talk to them about it, you get labeled as a downer or crazy.
This must be what God meant by hardening hearts so they do not see. Or care not to see the truth right in front of them.
The biggest disappointment are the fellow Christians that treat it that way. Uninterested. To busy to think about it.
Jesus called us to be watchmen, he said we should be watching for these signs and to warn others when we see them.
I am still praying about what that means. I do know he says they will be held to a different standard, those that know and say nothing.
White House officials held talks with representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood in Washington this week, as the Islamist group threw itself into the fray in Egypt’s presidential election.
The meeting on Tuesday with low-level National Security Council staff was part of a series of US efforts to broaden engagement with new and emerging political parties following Egypt’s revolution last year, a US official said.
The White House pointed out that Republican Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain, and other US lawmakers and officials had also met with Brotherhood representatives in Egypt and elsewhere in recent months.
“We believe that it is in the interest of the United States to engage with all parties that are committed to democratic principles, especially nonviolence,” said National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor.
“In all our conversations with these groups, we emphasize the importance of respect for minority rights, the full inclusion of women, and our regional security concerns.”
The Muslim Brotherhood’s political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party, said on Saturday it would nominate Khairat al-Shater, a professor of engineering and business tycoon, to contest Egypt’s first presidential election since a popular uprising ousted Hosni Mubarak last year.
The Islamists, who control parliament, had repeatedly said they would not put forward a member for the election in order to mitigate fears that they were trying to monopolize power.

Do you know the last time in human history when it was “legal” for marriage between same sexes?
Roman times?
No, that was my first guess.
Days of Lot?
No, it was very common to have sexual relations but not marriage.
Sodom and Gomorrah?
No, same as days of Lot.
The Days of Noah is the correct answer. That was the last time in human history until this decade.
Christ Said:
Matthew 24:36-38 – (KJV)
36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
We are seeing sin normalized on so many levels these days, this is just one of many sins.
But it is a guidepost that the Lord put in the ground for those that were watchful, to know when Christ’s return was near.
Luke 21:27-28 – (NKJV)
27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
The Days of Noah, that was the only other time in history!
Wake up and lift up your heads because our Lord’s return draws near!

Looks like the final dominos may be dropping for the US dollar as the world reserve currency.
It is definitely stage setting for the single world currency and the mark of the beast.
Several nations have already decided to go cashless for their national currency.
I am sure if “they” elect to go for a single world currency that they would go cashless. It gives better control.
Prophecy aside, it will be horrible for the US if this happens, we will see inflation take off as our dollar is devalued rapidly, no one will have a need to hold US dollars in reserve to buy the oil they need.
How hardened must their hearts be to fight this hard not to say that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
She wouldn’t even say that Israel had a capital.
Is it no wonder the public views this administration as anti-Israel and on the side of the muslim world?
It is why we all chucked when we heard Obama say we have Israel’s back. Only to put a knife in it.
It truly is not a laughing matter. God is very clear on what is at stake.
The extreme weather we have been seeing in this nation over this last three years and even prior has been a direct consequence.
Zechariah 12:3 – (NIV1984)
3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.
A second translation reveals even more:
Zechariah 12:3 – (NKJV)
3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
Cut to pieces…I would say some of this weather would “cut us to pieces”.
Yet another translation reveals more:
Zechariah 12:3 – (KJV)
3And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
In the prophets day, “a burdensome stone” was what they called the boundary marker stones of cities/territories. God is telling us, anyone that tries to divide Jerusalem or move its boundaries, will be cut to pieces / injure themselves.
As a nation, we are now standing on the wrong side.
Pastor JD echos the heavy heart that I have been feeling. But that is not really a good description. It is more than that. It really is a very strange combination of heavy heart, intense feeling that something big is just about to happen (anxious & nervousness combined), and finally a felling of things getting harder, as if the incline is quickly increasing on the treadmill of life.
Not a simple or pleasant feeling or easily described, but even though I feel weighted down by it. I have this thread of nervous excitement, anticipation. For what I am not exactly sure.
When I heard JD’s update this week, I was so very comforted. Not because it necessarily cleared anything up for me, but it echoed the feelings I was having. It confirmed that it is not just me. I have since confirmed this with other brothers and sisters in Christ that I trust and listen to.
He quoted some very eerie prophetic words from Paul Harvey back in 1965. I have included the full audio & text of it below. It was the second time I have heard it this week and it just really hits home.
Paul Harvey’s words really do exactly match what has happened since they were spoken some 47 years ago. They paint a picture of what Paul told Timothy the last days would be like.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 – (NKJV) – Perilous Times and Perilous Men
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Lets run down the list:
– Lovers of themselves — check
– Lovers of money — check
– Boasters and proud — check
– Blasphemers — check
– Disobedient to parents — check
– Unthankful — check
– Unholy — check
– Unloving — check
– Unforgiving — check
– Slanderers — check
– Without self-control — check
– Brutal despisers of good — check
– Traitors — check
– Headstrong, haughty — check
– Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — check
– Having a form of godliness but denying its power — check
I think that about sums up what we are seeing. But wait you say, we have seen all of these things throughout history what makes this time special.
Ahh, I may agree if Paul was talking about the world but he is talking about the church. This is what has crept into the church in the last days. Read the next five verses.
2 Timothy 3:6-10 – (NKJV)
6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.
The other piece that makes me so sure in my heart is the magnitude we are seeing and the combination with other end times signs. It is the entire picture God is painting for us, if we just have eyes to see.
“For men will be lovers of themselves…” and
“…lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…”
Those two really stood out to me and drove the nail home.
The phrase “Pastors will preach man centered sermons” and the term “itching ears” pops into my mind.
JD does an excellent job stepping through the progression we are seeing.
God’s Word is truly amazing! Praise God!
It is all there for us to read, all we have to do is have the desire to look. To knock and the door will be opened…
Another area that JD explores is the comparison between the two end time churches Jesus speaks of in Revelation.
Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13) and Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22)
“…I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name….” – Revelation 3:8 (partial)
“You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’…” – Revelation 3:17 (partial)
What pastor JD pointed out that I had not caught before was that the Philadelphia (faithful) end time church will be “weak” or “weakened” in the last days. It will be the Laodicea (unfaithful) church that will be strong when measured by this worlds standards.
Give it a listen, maybe it will bring you comfort as well.

Satan wants us uninterested in the things of God.
The stakes are so high: eternal life or eternal death.
Why would you not be concerned about that!

One of the pieces of prophecy that I think many over look because we have come to accept it over the years, is how close some of these end times players are.
Russia has benefited most from this as they have completely been white-washed of their evil past and present. (And of course we know due to God’s word the future evil that Russia will enact – Gog / Magog.)
The quote that really hit home for me was when Bill Whittle stated:
” Every US solider that has been killed over the last 50 to 60 years were killed by the Russian made AK-47.”
Just think about that for a minute…
How upside down has our understanding of Russia become? Russia = our enemy
They are the ones supplying all of the weaponry to our enemies, they are the ones helping Iran gain “nuclear power”, and they are the ones that stand on the side of evil. How far have we fallen as a nation that our president would see them as a partner and not Israel, or Poland, or Great Britain?
The story is not only the selling out, it is the reaction to it by the media and the American people. Silence, not a big deal, not interested, it is just something politicians do…
The video below does a good job really framing what we really just saw happen with the truth which we may not recognize any longer with all the twisting and spinning that has gone on the last 10-15 years.
We are standing on the wrong side. God has laid out exactly what will happen and who will be on which side and even who will win.
America’s leadership is choosing the wrong side, as foretold in Zechariah 12:3.
Zechariah 12:3 – (NKJV)
3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
The apathy is just astounding. It is so smothering. It is evil.
It is the falling away. We are too distracted these days. I always asked the question: “How could people not see the signs God lay out?” How could we miss such major events?
My heart is heavy.
I don’t think many want to know, they enjoy their “distractions” and don’t want to be bothered. We see it in the responses we get when we try to talk about prophecy or God’s Word.
Watch the video and open your eyes, mind, and heart.

I don’t know why but it still amazes me how backwards things are these days. God’s word tells me this is what we would be seeing, but yet it still stops me, stunned, when I see it.
What the world calls tolerant is really intolerant. What is called good is evil.
He is right this is a cultural war on christianity. They are intimidating us, calling us names, and insulting our beliefs & values. Yet they are the tolerant. We (Christians) are intolerant.
They are killing millions of babies in the womb, destroying the family unit, and launching incurable diseases onto our society and yet they are called good. We (Christians) are evil.
God warned us of this time but he also promised, when we saw these things, His Son’s return would be near.
Come quickly Lord Jesus!

3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
The left has gotten themselves in an uproar over comments made by Pastor Dennis Terry at a church-campaign event for Rick Santorum, and even some on the right are accepting their false premise. First, watch the video if you haven’t seen it:
Now let me ask you what was wrong with anything Pastor Terry said? Well if you ask those on the left, they say he’s telling non-Christians and liberals to get out of America. But that’s not at all what he said. Allow me to properly phrase his so-called controversial comments the way he delivered them:
The thing I love about Jack Kelly’s articles is the simplicity with which he peels back so many layers of the onion (layers of scriptural truth/meanings).
The topic of this article is so very important during these last days that are so filled with deception. It regards our salvation.
We not only need to know “how we are saved” but why it works the way it does. It reveals the genius of God.
Jack lays it out beautifully and by knowing “why”, your belief and faith will be strengthened. Just as study of prophecy strengthen’s our faith.
If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead you will be saved (Rom 10:9).
We’ve all confessed (give assent to or acknowledge) with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and understand its importance to our salvation, but what about the “believe in your heart” portion of the verse?
In Romans 10:10 Paul goes on to say that it’s with our heart that we believe and are justified. The Greek word translated justify is from dikaios which means to be innocent or holy. The King James translates this word “believe unto righteousness” meaning that our belief in the resurrection is what brings us our righteousness, allowing God to regard us as though we’re innocent of any sin and therefore holy.
The key contributor to the fog of deception that has enveloped this planet is the “media” (at least the key worldly contributor). It has taken many forms. There is the actual re-writing of history or the facts. There is the well know concept of “spinning” of stories or redefining/omitting certain statements or facts. And then there is the most egregious which is completely ignoring stories or facts that have surfaced.
It is the latter that is discussed below. I am simply stunned at how we can know so little about the most powerful man in America. I don’t care which party, race, or religion they hail from. It is astounding the complete blackout that has occurred on his past.
Not just ignoring, but legally and illegally working to freeze/destroy any information that would give insights into his past. Coupled with this complete blackout is the complete lack of desire to know the truth or facts about him.
So many people here on this little planet could care less to know who he really is and what he has stood for in the past. It even goes further that people are aggressively attacking and smearing anyone that raises the question. It is as if you are a leper and lunatic for even asking the question.
It is not of this world, it is supernatural, people are blinded to what is happening right in front of their eyes.
The most well-read news story anywhere got no mention on Fox News, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times or any other so-called “mainstream” news outlet – a laughable adjective.
The story wasn’t overlooked. It was deliberately spiked. The media knew it was coming. They didn’t want any part of it.
But it gets worse.
Big time talk-radio was tipped off on the story, as well – in advance. They didn’t bite, either. Too hot.
It may seem like hopelessly bad news that the U.S. media – even much of the so-called “alternative” media – are so tightly controlled. But it’s not. The good news is that a story like this can still be read and seen by millions despite the control. It can still be bigger than any of the pap being dished out by so-called “news organizations,” which are sometimes no more than gatekeepers guarding their own narrow special interests.
When ever Joel lays out the relationship between prophecy and the events we are seeing today, I tend to listen. He has always stayed true to God’s Word on the topic, which is why I think he has such a good track record.
The quote from the host Pastor of the conference really summed up well the feelings I have been having recently.
“It seems that there is a sense in the spiritual air we breathe that things are unraveling quickly. The slide is not unstoppable. It will take a great awakening, a supernatural intervention, an act of God, to turn us back from the precipice toward which we run.”
Time is Short, we need to step up our effort of outreach as a church, it is no time for our churches to be asleep at the wheel. The Rapture draws near!
By Joni B. Hannigan, Managing Editor, Florida Baptist Witness
JACKSONVILLE (FBW)—The handwriting is on the wall and war between Iran and Israel is imminent, Joel Rosenberg, an evangelical Christian and New York Times best-selling author, told the last session of the First Baptist Jacksonville Pastors’ Conference Jan. 29.
“War is coming,” Rosenberg said. “You and I are living in an extraordinary moment in one of the most dangerous moments in the history of our country; one of the most dangerous moments in the history of Israel and the Middle East; and one of the most dangerous moments in the history of the church.”
And the question is, “Are we ready for what could be coming?”
The video in the link below is short but backed full of wisdom.
The two items that stood out most was the belief some are preaching that it is not possible to follow the 10 commandments and that they were “nailed to the cross” and that we no longer fall under their influence.
This couldn’t be further from the truth. It is our lack of studying the bible that has led so many astray. Here is the scripture that references the topic.
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross (Col 2:13-14).
The key focus of the message is sin. How we are forgiven for all sins (past, present and future) under the new covenant that he was establishing with the church through His Son’s death on the cross. We are no longer saved through adherence to the law (like the Jewish people) but through faith and belief in Jesus Christ, our savior. The law is still valid, how else can we tell if we sin and need to repent. It is still the way we should aim to live. It is the way Christ lived, following the 10 commandments.
Jesus multiple times spoke of the commandments and their importance. Paul also spoke at length about “the law” which is front and center represented by the 10 commandments as well as the old testament. (Romans) He stated that without the Law, we do not know what sin is and that we need to repent. It is not the law the makes us sin, we are all sinners, but without the law we would not know the standards we are measured against.
We would not know that we are sinners and in need of a savior. We are never “good” enough as we are all filled with sin, believers and unbelievers. It is the believers that through the Law and Jesus’ teachings know they need a savior and that they have sinned.
This is where so many fail in preaching God’s word to unbelievers, we must first show them that they are sinners just like us and then it will make sense why they need a savior.
If someone does not know they are falling from a plane, it would not make sense as to why they need a parachute.
Amazing video, I think Ray Comfort drills into the true basics that a lot of us Christians have missed or forgotten through all of the noise and distractions (deception) this world throws at us. As I watched it, I could see myself and friends I know in the position of the two young believers he is interviewing.
It is so important, and counter intuitive to this world, to remember we are not to put our “faith” in ourselves but in Jesus Christ (God). We are to keep our eyes on Him and not this world. We cannot save ourselves through being “good” or even repenting. We are all sinners and no one is good enough.
It is only through faith in Jesus and His gift to us through His death on the cross. He overcame death and is preparing a place for us to be with Him always. He sent us the Holy Spirit to be sealed, yes sealed, within us always. No one can remove it.
It is the simplest message and promise but very easy to forget or overlook.
God’s Word, the Bible, is inerrant. The translation I like calls it “God Breathed”. It has never been wrong and verifies itself through prophecy.
This is an amazing list the David has pulled together. It came out a while back and I hadn’t had a chance to read through the entire list. We all knew in our heart during the interrogation of Rev. Graham that he was right. There is a reason why Americans in poll after poll do not believe he is a Christian, maybe not a muslim, but definitely not a Christian. It all goes back to you will know a tree from its fruit.
Luke 6:43-45 (NKJV)
A Tree Is Known by Its Fruit
43 “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
And listed below is the fruit Obama has been producing when it comes to religion.
I can not imagine having any of these stances and considering myself a Christian.
Once you see the list compiled, it is clear why Americans, especially Christians, have such a hard time with his claim.
Praise be to God for the wisdom He has left for us in His good book: The Bible.
Is President Barack Obama America’s most “Biblically-hostile U.S. president?” This is the label that conservative historian David Barton has given Obama, as the nation continues its debate over the president’s controversial contraceptive mandate.
But for Barton, the situation transcends the current discussion about religious freedom and the Catholic Church, as the frequent guest on Glenn Beck’s radio and television shows develops his provocative argument in detail. He writes:
When one observes President Obama’s unwillingness to accommodate America’s four-century long religious conscience protection through his attempts to require Catholics to go against their own doctrines and beliefs, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Catholic. But that characterization would not be correct. Although he has recently singled out Catholics, he has equally targeted traditional Protestant beliefs over the past four years. So since he has attacked Catholics and Protestants, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Christian. But that, too, would be inaccurate. He has been equally disrespectful in his appalling treatment of religious Jews in general and Israel in particular. So perhaps the most accurate description of his antipathy toward Catholics, Protestants, religious Jews, and the Jewish nation would be to characterize him as anti-Biblical. And then when his hostility toward Biblical people of faith is contrasted with his preferential treatment of Muslims and Muslim nations, it further strengthens the accuracy of the anti-Biblical descriptor. In fact, there have been numerous clearly documented times when his pro-Islam positions have been the cause of his anti-Biblical actions.
Barton then goes on to list, in chronological order, the president’s purported attacks in the following sections:
(1) numerous records of his attacks on Biblical persons or organizations; (2) examples of the hostility toward Biblical faith that have become evident in the past three years in the Obama-led military; (3) a listing of his open attacks on Biblical values; and finally (4) a listing of numerous incidents of his preferential deference for Islam’s activities and positions, including letting his Islamic advisors guide and influence his hostility toward people of Biblical faith.
Parts One and Two can be read, below:
1. Acts of hostility toward people of Biblical faith:
April 2008 – Obama speaks disrespectfully of Christians, saying they “cling to guns or religion” and have an “antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”
February 2009 – Obama announces plans to revoke conscience protection for health workers who refuse to participate in medical activities that go against their beliefs, and fully implements the plan in February 2011.
April 2009 – When speaking at Georgetown University, Obama orders that a monogram symbolizing Jesus’ name be covered when he is making his speech.
May 2009 – Obama declines to host services for the National Prayer Day (a day established by federal law) at the White House.
April 2009 – In a deliberate act of disrespect, Obama nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican; of course, the pro-life Vatican rejected all three.
October 19, 2010 – Obama begins deliberately omitting the phrase about “the Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence – an omission he has made on no less than seven occasions.
November 2010 – Obama misquotes the National Motto, saying it is “E pluribus unum” rather than “In God We Trust” as established by federal law.
January 2011 – After a federal law was passed to transfer a WWI Memorial in the Mojave Desert to private ownership, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that the cross in the memorial could continue to stand, but the Obama administration refused to allow the land to be transferred as required by law, and refused to allow the cross to be re-erected as ordered by the Court.
February 2011 – Although he filled posts in the State Department, for more than two years Obama did not fill the post of religious freedom ambassador, an official that works against religious persecution across the world; he filled it only after heavy pressure from the public and from Congress.
April 2011 – For the first time in American history, Obama urges passage of a non-discrimination law that does not contain hiring protections for religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus eliminating conscience protection in hiring.
August 2011 – The Obama administration releases its new health care rules that override religious conscience protections for medical workers in the areas of abortion and contraception.
November 2011 – Obama opposes inclusion of President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous D-Day Prayer in the WWII Memorial.
November 2011 – Unlike previous presidents, Obama studiously avoids any religious references in his Thanksgiving speech.
December 2011 – The Obama administration denigrates other countries’ religious beliefs as an obstacle to radical homosexual rights.
January 2012 – The Obama administration argues that the First Amendment provides no protection for churches and synagogues in hiring their pastors and rabbis.
February 2012 – The Obama administration forgives student loans in exchange for public service, but announces it will no longer forgive student loans if the public service is related to religion.
2. Acts of hostility from the Obama-led military toward people of Biblical faith:
June 2011 – The Department of Veterans Affairs forbids references to God and Jesus during burial ceremonies at Houston National Cemetery.
August 2011 – The Air Force stops teaching the Just War theory to officers in California because the course is taught by chaplains and is based on a philosophy introduced by St. Augustine in the third century AD – a theory long taught by civilized nations across the world (except America).
September 2011 – Air Force Chief of Staff prohibits commanders from notifying airmen of programs and services available to them from chaplains.
September 2011 – The Army issues guidelines for Walter Reed Medical Center stipulating that “No religious items (i.e. Bibles, reading materials and/or facts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.”
November 2011 – The Air Force Academy rescinds support for Operation Christmas Child, a program to send holiday gifts to impoverished children across the world, because the program is run by a Christian charity.
November 2011 – The Air Force Academy pays $80,000 to add a Stonehenge-like worship center for pagans, druids, witches and Wiccans.
February 2012 – The U. S. Military Academy at West Point disinvites three star Army general and decorated war hero Lieutenant General William G. (“Jerry”) Boykin (retired) from speaking at an event because he is an outspoken Christian.
February 2012 – The Air Force removes “God” from the patch of Rapid Capabilities Office (the word on the patch was in Latin: Dei).
February 2012 – The Army orders Catholic chaplains not to read a letter to parishioners that their archbishop asked them to read.
As the contraceptive mandate continues to be a topic of conversation in media and on the campaign trail, the Obama administration has been faced with a difficult scenario: either make concessions or risk potential political fallout.
The national conversation surrounding Rush Limbaugh and Sandra Fluke did, to a degree, temporarily relieve some pressure from officials. Nevertheless, the Catholic Church and its supporters have been adamant about the religious freedom violations associated with the mandate. Now, it seems officials have moved, albiet slightly, in a direction faith leaders may find palatable.
If a politician said he wanted to “cement our city as a beacon that demonstrates the meaning of the words of the Prophet,” one might assume that politician came from Syria, Iran or maybe even one of Egypt’s more radical Muslim factions. But they’d be wrong. That person is, in fact, the Labour Party’s candidate for London Mayor, Ken Livingstone.
The Daily Telegraph found the above video of Livingstone’s speech, and wrote this about it:
Mr Livingstone, Labour’s candidate for mayor of London, pledged to “educate the mass of Londoners” in Islam, saying: “That will help to cement our city as a beacon that demonstrates the meaning of the words of the Prophet.” Mr Livingstone described Mohammed’s words in his last sermon as “an agenda for all humanity.”
He praised the Prophet’s last sermon, telling his audience: “I want to spend the next four years making sure that every non-Muslim in London knows and understands [its] words and message.” He also promised to “make your life a bit easier financially.”
Mr Livingstone was speaking at last Friday’s Jummah prayer at the North London Central Mosque, also known as Finsbury Park Mosque, formerly controlled by the terrorist recruiter Abu Hamza.
A Russian military unit has arrived in Syria, according to Russian news reports, a development that a United Nations Security Council source told ABC News was “a bomb” certain to have serious repercussions.
Russia, one of President Bashar al-Assad’s strongest allies despite international condemnation of the government’s violent crackdown on the country’s uprising, has repeatedly blocked the United Nations Security Council’s attempts to halt the violence, accusing the U.S. and its allies of trying to start another war.
Now the Russian Black Sea fleet’s Iman tanker has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea with an anti-terror squad from the Russian Marines aboard according to the Interfax news agency. The Assad government has insisted it is fighting a terrorist insurgency. The Russian news reports did not elaborate on the Russian troops’ mission in Syria or if they are expected to leave the port.
The presence of Russian troops in Syria could be a “pretty obvious” show of support to the regime, according to Russian security expert Mark Galeotti.
“No one thinks of the Russians as anything but Assad’s last friends,” said Galeotti, professor of global affairs at New York University.
(AP) STOCKHOLM – Sweden was the first European country to introduce bank notes in 1661. Now it’s come farther than most on the path toward getting rid of them.
“I can’t see why we should be printing bank notes at all anymore,” says Bjoern Ulvaeus, former member of 1970’s pop group ABBA, and a vocal proponent for a world without cash.
The contours of such a society are starting to take shape in this high-tech nation, frustrating those who prefer coins and bills over digital money.
In most Swedish cities, public buses don’t accept cash; tickets are prepaid or purchased with a cell phone text message. A small but growing number of businesses only take cards, and some bank offices — which make money on electronic transactions — have stopped handling cash altogether.
“There are towns where it isn’t at all possible anymore to enter a bank and use cash,” complains Curt Persson, chairman of Sweden’s National Pensioners’ Organization.
He says that’s a problem for elderly people in rural areas who don’t have credit cards or don’t know how to use them to withdraw cash.
The decline of cash is noticeable even in houses of worship, like the Carl Gustaf Church in Karlshamn, southern Sweden, where Vicar Johan Tyrberg recently installed a card reader to make it easier for worshippers to make offerings.
“People came up to me several times and said they didn’t have cash but would still like to donate money,” Tyrberg says.
Bills and coins represent only 3 percent of Sweden’s economy, compared to an average of 9 percent in the eurozone and 7 percent in the U.S., according to the Bank for International Settlements, an umbrella organization for the world’s central banks.
Pastor JD’s most recent prophecy update. He looks at earthquakes and some of the deception around answers give for the question in the title. He also gets into the why would God use such destruction.
Being thick-headed myself, I believe it is to get our attention.
I personally have been watching earthquakes daily and it seems like this year we are having a 6.0 pretty much every day. Last year it was a 5.0’s that you would see everyday. Definitely a magnitude increase.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." -- Ephesians 2:8-10
